- In todays Episode of The Chronicles of Kayla this is the FIRST part of the day ... we ran for a good 24+ hours on April 22, 2024 trying to beat the rain and get in alfalfa seed... when a bag of alfalfa costs you a pretty penny you wanna make every seed count.. Getting the ground in proper condition was our main focus.
We have spread Lime and now Fertilizer with the @SalfordGroup BBI Liberty Cart on this field ... who else is excited to see baby alfalfa grow?!!?

@@ChroniclesofKayla i’ll agree with you there! Lol that’s why I’ve been sticking with orchard grass and Timothy mix but it’s not a lot of difference in the price now
Use a cleaned out shop vac on the spilled seed if possible next time.
You’d think we’d of thought of that 😂😂😂 since that’s what we use to TAKE seed out of the drill …

Hopefully get at least 3 cuttings off - - ideally at least 10,000 bales this year. We shall see what Mother Nature does to help us out!!

Do you put the fertilizer in a truck first and then shoot it into the fertilizer wagon? Or how does it go?
Nutrien loads their own trucks, and brings them out for us to use. Then we self load into the cart.
how many season will you get before replanting.
It really depends on the weather … we’ve had stands go 8-10 years. Others only 5.
How many acres are you planting?
80 acres.
So you estimate $500 per acre? How many years will it last.
