THAT'S the shackle opener?? All this time I thought it must've been some really obscure tool I couldn't even comprehend by looking at it. I have a newfound respect for the marlin spike now. I never thought of any of these uses before.
Yes,It's actually a tool for untying knots and to open boat shackles.but you can find many alternative hidden functions for this tool, that's what I love about Swiss army knives. All tools are useful and have our respect.Thank you,Greetings from Hellas(Greece).
Thank you for video! I started my interest about Swiss Army Knives about 2 years ago, but I still had not seen videos about that strange Marlins spike! Now I know I need the big Victorinox with that spike!
In reality, all tools are useful, each one for different tasks.I also have a video about the new skipper pro, thanks. ua-cam.com/video/cLQBiwpEOaE/v-deo.html
man I've had that knife since 26 I'm 45 this year and never new that's what that was. so cool. well time to take my knife camping again. been some years always afraid to loose it. this knife means alot to me was a gift in Alabama fixen a man's car from New York. thanks for video. god bless
Yes, great video! Well, not so great, because now I "need" one of these boat-themed SAKs, even though I rarely go near a boat. I'm all about finding new uses for my SAKs. I always thought it was a bit lame how they gussied-up the classical marlin spike, but now I see I was just ignorant.
I just ordered one of those for my grandson, who is out this week on a sailing/camping trip with his new friends in a Sea Scout ship. I like this model better than the "pro" model because the tool is much more versatile than the classical marlinspike. Thank you for a wonderful, but wordless demonstration.
@@nikgyver7 the spike bit yes, I'm assuming it's just just there version of a marlin spike but hoped it would have a fancy name and I could find this exact same bit as a stand alone tool maybe with a nice wooden handle too 🤞
@@nikgyver7 Just joking... nice video Nikos. It's called a marlin spike because it resembles the spike of the great fish. The joke is could you use it to kill the fish!
@@snake1ization Actually it is the other way round. The merlin got its name because sailors thought it resembles the merling spike when they discovered the fish. 😎
NIKOS DOULAS Even better! But, seriously, your video goes to show that the most important tool is the mind and its creative imagination. The tool is great, but the applications that you've thought up and demonstrated with it are the real value. A rope isn't just a rope when there are a thousand knots to be created with it. Very cool video. I wish they had this tool on more than just the marine variations.
Victorinox needs to put you on their marketing and design team. We thank you for sharing your knowledge.
thanks my pleasure..a hidden dream..
Not a single word but lots of information. This is the video we all need 👍👍
i have many videos for each tool, with explaination.maybe is ufeful for you..thank you.
Thank you, and I thought this was a useless tool. Subscribed !
