    Thanks for the tips. I guess it's time to practice. I'm just curious about how it looks like in the front with some moves. You' re doing some specific moves during the last suzie. I guess for men we should focus more on our shoulders, right? Thanks for tour answer.

    • @thedancedojo
      @thedancedojo  4 роки тому

      You're welcome! Actually if you focus on isolating your chest/ribs your shoulders and arms will follow - that's the foundational technique. I'm not the best model of this as i still have a lot of work to do. I'm using my shoulders and arms more than my chest in this video, which is not exactly ideal! We're all improving :) -Robin

      @@thedancedojo Thanks I guess I should check this out, because i thought a lot about it. Yeah, the thing is that more and more I watch dance videos... I mean dance in general and not only salsa; bachata and so on... I have noticed that the key to dancing well, it's letting the entire body move. Therefore I'm working on it too, for example when I'm dancing on an R&B song.
      I'm gonna check!

      @@Mitsohumohashi yea getting to know your body and how to move and control it is everything. moves are just moves. they dont look like anything unless you can bring them to life.

    If you dance on2, why would you start a Suzie Q to the left on1? why not start to the right on2?

    • @thedancedojo
      @thedancedojo  10 місяців тому +1

      it's the convention so you'd have to go back in history to find out. Maybe it's so your 3 suzie steps aren't broken up by a slow count. try it and see what you like better. when danced contratiempo to 234-678 it starts to the right. -robin

    Hmm for some reason I always thought you had to end on step 7 on your right foot to reset correctly but I see sometimes you end on 7 on your left foot why is that?

    • @thedancedojo
      @thedancedojo  2 роки тому +1

      you were probably watching the on2 part. when teaching shines on2 the convention is to use the follower's count, so it's opposite. -robin

    Interesting to see the regional difference. I learned "suzy q plus" as a different pattern, as demonstrated here: ua-cam.com/video/iiZmysvRVTc/v-deo.html
    Also, the "in and out" suzy is called "angle suzy q" elsewhere.
