Hey Shok, I just want to say thank you for this guide. I took notes on the important points and I've been referencing them frequently. I can already feel the quality of my midgame improving hugely. Great guide!
The post Baron was really nice. I like that you go into depth, and break up things into understandable bits. +1 I feel like late game Hullbreaker changes the dynamic of the last part. Superminions have tons of hp and AD, but they severely lack resistances, which means enemies do true dmg. If you add 225 armour and 225 MR, that's suddenly stats equal to a really strong tank, not to mention Hull's 200% gold efficiency to the user. It's such a powerful combo, and I'm not sure what even counters it. Imagine if you slow push to the point you have two supers, that more than 16 000 gold worth of big minion resistances that the enemy have to deal with, or they'll lose structures. You don't even have to touch towers.
Wow, this guide was sooo good! For me, the parts about pressuring 2 lanes wasnt new, but 4/1 splitting and which ones to do it one was! But the biggest takeaway was what to do when your team doesn't want to Baron, that was really helpful. Thanks Shok!
Hey Mr. Shok this is a fantastic video. I like your analytical way of thinking and your approach to the game. This is very helpfull for me to replicate what you teach in my games. I have a question regarding two things. 1.) When my team in SoloQ follows throught these steps, I realise we get objectives like dragon fairly uncontested. I usually look what my team does and reset or push with them. But especially when I reset with them and go push sidelanes afterwards. I always see my ADC, SUPP and JGL fight in mid against 4 or more members of the enemy team. What should I do? Just keep pushing or join them mid right away? 2.) Whenn I follow through your steps I kinda feel the same way: I push the wave, wait for them to show, get vision, push the wave again and before I can get deeper vision, suddenly my team gets engaged on in mid. I am fairly uncertain on what to do in those situations... I see the fight, I do know I will not be there in time and therefore continue my push in the side lane, reseting before they can collapse on me. I am not sure if I should just continue pushing side waves or group. Any help or comment is appreciated! (I guess if you wanna boil it down: What do I do when I am going to push sidelanes and I see my team ARAM?/ posturing aggresively)
1. This is a really hard part about soloq honestly, if you feel like a fight is going to happen you should probably group, but if you can't get to the fight then just keep pushing. It's a really hard skill to master (and it's a bit random because it's soloq) but the most important thing is to hard commit to something so you don't end up just wasting time trying to do both things.
This video is super informative!! However what I often see happening in solo q games in Plat elo is that someone will randomly decide to fight or engage on someone else on the map and then every player will rotate to that fight and whoever gets there first wins. It sorta feels like my mid game is often people just perma fighting. If my team is fighting mid should I still try to push out bot and get vision in bot jg for the next obj or should I try to help the fights? I would say I’m the type of player who shoves lanes a lot and most of my team mates and enemies prefer to aram and perma fight so i always feel like I’m missing out on these random ass fights. Any thoughts on this low elo phenomenon?
Usually In soloq it's better to follow the team even if it is a bad call. Everyone playing together is alot more important than macro sometimes. But you should always try to inform them what you want to do. If they don't listen you just have to play with them. If you don't you have a higher chance of losing
If your team is perma fighting then you just have to fight with them. This is the unfortunate part of soloq and there really isn't much you can do about it, perma fighting still happens in a fair amount of games in high elo. It's pretty difficult honestly but you just have to try get good at seeing when fights are going to happen and when you're allowed to farm. The most important thing is just to commit to something rather than half committing to 2 different things and not doing either of them particularly well.
Eh just the chaos of soloq can make it hard to close out. People get picked randomly (especially after getting baron) and that can add a good 5 minutes to a game
love watching you! thank you very much. after 20 min game when baron is up if we win a fight and we can take 1/2 turret and inhib what is batter? baron or inhib+turret?
can't you do 1/1/3? the distance between going from bot to top is longer than mid to top? I feel like that would put a lot more pressure if your comps allow it.
Thank u as a xersth main a carry a lot of the time i find it REALLY hard to end the game and win i always lose while going 25/4/8 So this helpt me a lot ty
Your greatest strength as Xerath is you siege power, you can shred ppl without taking risks (as for the Azir mentionned part of the video). Keep playing slow and poking. Never waste your E, that's your only tool to survive any engage. And for the greatest part, try to improve at "anticipation" of what your team is doing. You're not very mobile and need to be in the right position in time (safe & able to dps) which is quite hard in soloQ (random fights always occurs). Try to analyse your Teamates behaviour. And when super fed, letting a few kills to your team can help quite a bit for you to be stronger (adc more dangerous = less MR built ; tankier frontline = more safety & time for you to dps)
Hey shok ! i mainly play ADC and support. So you adviced to push sidelanes in midgame (botlane if drake up soon, toplane if baron up soon), *But what do you do as an ADC when your midlaner/toplaner just wants to ARAM mid ?* I try to ping, i type in chat" top please go sidelane and push", sometimes they listen, sometimes they don't... *When none of your team mates wants to push side, should i push side as an ADC ?* ADCs usually have no mobility to be safe in case i get collapse so idk... I often die, except when i play Tristana 😔 🦩Moreover, ADCs streamers say to push mid wave constantly in the mid game, but the mid don't want to sidelane (Especially mages, not all mages) Usually when i get fed, my team keep sticking to me at mid and try to force, and then we end taking no advantage... what should i do ? I have often lose games while being fed because we were just 5 mid, i couldnt tell them to go push side s 😔 What i'm afraid of with splitpush as ADC is that my team go for a fight whereas i'm pushing on side, then they all die because i'm the fed member, and ping me...😔
If your team just refuses to go sidelane, you should at least go to sidelanes to grab waves when they crash under your towers. Otherwise you're probably better off farming JG camps around mid (wolves, raptors, red etc). You can push side if you're an adc that's got decent 1v1 like kaisa vayne xayah otherwise it can be really scary
yes agree fully, but sadly people on low ranks, probably even emerald, go the same lane inhib is already taken, usually mid and make aram of it, which is bad and its throwing game most of the time, yes you dont need to take 3 inhins usually to win game, but winning with 1 inhib is risky unless youre super far ahead and even then not always, because enemy might have super good wave clear, if you cant dive double towers than its bad
Then just sweep the area and you should still be able to push up, assassins normally have more mobility so they will feel safe on side wave anyway and can look to pick people in the jungle.
been having a rough time with that lately dragging all the enemy jungler attention towards me early on getting a decent lead and just end up getting behind paying too much attention to my teammates(swain main mid)
u are incredible! thank you so much for all that free content.. u really deserve to be rewarded so hard for this! stream more often i wanna gift u my prime sub! :) keep it up man, i just started with lol but your stuff is SO educating! im watching u more than acutally play haha.. big big thanks mate!
[08:32] is something that I personally struggle with doing consistently. Whenever I play Sivir, I usually default to clearing waves, but with other ADCs I'm usually too scared of getting murdered because of overstaying even when we win with more kills than the opponent. Is there a best method to prepare for the enemy's best attack, or should I maintain as high gold absorption as possible and run as soon as I see a foe? [16:49] was one of the most cursed Tabs I've seen in a while. You have double SoloLane Enchanters and SoloLane Junglers. That looks pretty cringe for a game. Good KDA on yourself, though.
If you're too low to stay on the map and farm you should just reset instantly, normally if you play towards your vision you should be able to clear at least one wave without dying though,
For point 1, the question is, what can kill you, when, and how. ==> Depending on that answer, you can always pull out a great push (eg: nocturne has no ultimate anymore, veigar was too low to fight and has surely reset, their darius can only come through that bush so you blue-ward it and you're safe anyway etc.)
The only place where I don't finish early 😔
bro💀
You win the internet today bro! 🤣
Play some Qiyana or any of the booba Sivir skins and you'll be a two pump chump on the rift in no time
Oof

Oh ye, hullbreaker when it was releases was such an OP item 🤣
I remember akshans, grave and even sometimes my ADC playing with hullbreaker... Lmao

I found that typing /ff 15 minutes into the game also helps

SUPER EXCITED just from the title alone. Your guides RULE, dude!

This video came out right when I needed it the most. Losing games after consistently winning your lane is frustrating and confusing
Thanks for your videos, I've gotten a lot better as a player because of them. You're the greatest.
this was so insanely informative

Yeah as shok said in his video, adaptation is very important. Play with the team I'd say.

a guide that's not just an unedited cut of some streamers mediocre good game where they gave 3 tips over 40 minutes? hallelujah, sub for sure
I've been looking for this video my whole life
this is mind blowing
Is there a concept in league that this man hasn't made a guide on? Absolute fucking legend
I haven't done tempo yet but it's on the list :D
omg thank you shok i luv ur straight to the point videos (:
Great video as always.
We are so lucky to have you 😊

Ay Shok what do u think games going on longer than 30 minutes? Are both teams just bad at closing out games? lol I was thinking about this recently.

Pretty much always baron, if it's a sidelane inhib you could argue that's better but mid inhib is pretty useless

sorry, but this is bullshit. Too much is based on other teammates, they don't listen
Even if they don't listen you need to know how to adapt to that and play around what's happening
