So honored to have my little Tau self been part of your journey! Meeting you was like getting to say hello to my childhood. I grew up watching you and Dave do your thing, and it was so great getting to meet you.
The imperial priest turning into a Magnus is one of my favorite things about this. Like I wonder if someone suggested that to him or he did that on his own, either way its great.
I'm so happy you had a good time!! Corbin and I (the plague priest) will be at the Kansas City narrative in June. We both started new armies after seeing them at the grand narrative. He has Astra Militarum, and I have Leagues of Votann. We've been running a local crusade with 6 people, in it, our armies have slowly been becoming reliable comrades. The Astra Militarum lead by an Ordo Maleus inquisitor lead Astra militarum will use any tools to hunt chaos and daemons. Kahl Vukha leads the forces of the Urani-Sutur Regulates, while normally very self reliant, who would pass on the synergy of an allied force to help free up mining routes? In return for helping the USR scrub their system of chaos in June, Vukha will lend her forces to assist the imperium in November. I'll be cosplaying as a Forgemaster (because come on, they are too cool) and Corbin as his inquisitor! I hope we can see you again and I'm insanely happy to hear you are bringing narrative back to MWG. I'm waiting on my passport approval and I'll hopefully be visiting this year.
I’ve been waiting for this video since Skari posted his a few months ago! This event looked amazing, and if MWG hosts something similar, I’m definitely interested.
Matthew, it's because of you guys at MWG with your narratives campaign that make me wanted to play Warhammer and i even started my own UA-cam channel !!! Thank you and i can't wait for your next narratives campaign!!! Keep up the good work !!!
Dude, your whole personality is so entertaining. I just imagine this Carnifex explaining why he likes narrative gaming, while crushing everyone in his wake. Great vid.
They should tell people which units are allowed. Would solve the problem where some people don´t understand that this is not a competition and the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. A GM could also add random events in each battle.
I am very jealous of you that you got to go to this event. I wish I had made the trip, but time and money can be a heavy thing. This is a fantastic event to see and I do adore all the effort that went into it. I would adore it if you hosted something similar at MiniWarGaming HQ. I am much closer to you than New Mexico and would be excited to attend, no matter the format! I shall keep my eye out for more awesome narrative wargaming!
Great to hear, that the energy and enthusiasm for narrative campaigns are back! Totally feel this as well and I'm already hyped to see of any new great adventure on the table!
That was a beautiful sentence... Yes i want to win but not at the expense of my opponents enjoyment. Thanks for showing me somthing I would have loved to go to, I'm glad you had as much fun as i would have.
I have watched this video 3 times this week. I really miss my little gaming group and the community we started years ago at my store. Happy to see you looking to get back into the saddle!
This is what I love to play and host for Age of Sigmar. I am running an Narrative now that uses Path of Glory and Warcry as an ongoing Narrative. I just feel that this is how you can enjoy the lore so much more. Thank you for sharing this.
Love this report. I've been dipping my toes back into GW games, but as a narrative-first player, haven't been interested in the meta-driven tourney scene. Would love to find a grand narrative AoS event like this once I get my Nighthaunt complete!
Happy to hear you had a good time. i've been waiting for a new Narrative campaign from MWG. it feels like it has been a good while since we had one to occupy wed/thur.
It's great you're concerned about the opponents having a good time and getting enough turns in. I don't know if narrative events are supposed to have less "tournament strength" units comps but people had to know they were going to potentially be going up against the nids who love to rush, so as long as the others played units they enjoy that's ultimately what matters lol
i remember watching part of this on twitch it looked incredible, as a competetive player i feel like ive missed this part of the hobby completely so may go looking for one at some point soon
I thought this was such a beautiful video. Spot on, just seeing people brought together to play and laugh was inspiring. I love Warhammer Lore. I've never played the game. I liked your video man good job.
I've never had a chance to play a narrative. But I've just gotten back into building my armies up after a hiatus. There have been a few changes since 3rd edition, so I'll be learning as I go. The Grey knights themselves haven't changed a bit, they're just easier to customize now.
Wow crazy coincidence I was actually staying at the same hotel when this event was going on but was there for my brother's wedding. I've never played Warhammer 40k but I knew a bit about it just from youtube videos I had seen. Looked like yall had a good time.
So, when is MWG hosting a Sigmar narrative tournament? Make it international...on either side of Niagara Falls! For the American side, "Let's Go, Buffalo!"
My favorite piece of warhammer information is that Warcraft was a game based on Warhammer fantasy straight down to the super big shoulders and cartoony style, then Blizzard had the Idea of making a 40k RTS pitched it and GW passed and with a little tweaking to the Protoss and everything that 40k game became Starcraft and the 3 factions they had in the demo pitch were Terran, Protoss and Zerg so Zerg are literally Tyranids
This was awesome. I think my favorite part was how you cared about your opponents enjoyment of the game more than perhaps anything.I really appreciated that and hope more players can take that lesson on
Sounds like an amazing time! Narrative is one of the biggest parts of Warhammer that I enjoy! I really wish they had more tournaments like this, I would love to play in one!
As a new player, I wrote off Crusade Rules because I didn't know that anyone played em. I played my first crusade game earlier in tts and loved it. Now, I think im gonna change my army to better fit my simplistic play style, and I'm absolutely revamped to play more.
New Mexico: the ultimate expression of the collective will of some people that when told you probably shouldn't do something to respond with "You're not my dad!" and do it anyway.
I'm trying to get back into Warhammer tabletop. There's a narrative event in april and I really wanna get my guard ready to go and hopefully have some really close matches.
when I first started to get into Warhammer, I was gonna go Age of Sigmar just because I'm more of a Fantasy person. but 40k's lore compelled me more and now knee deep into 40k Minis
I have a life goal of someday being involved in organizing an event like this. I have so many cool ideas I want to expand Crusade format with. Things like base management, incorporating Kill Team for special strike missions that influence future larger games. Plotting out territory on a galactic map and having players fight over territory. Creating permanent death conditions for named characters. Having boards that are themed after various locations and biomes that are featured in the events. The ideas flow like a river, and my work capabilities flow like...well not very well.
My dad taught me to play games. He never took it easy on me. Even when I was 5, he played to win. It made me a better player. From cards to chess. That said, I would love a narrative tournament, but if my opponent didn't bring his A game, I'd be very disappointed. Even if that meant I'd be tabled in 2 turns. I don't love losing, but I very much appreciate it when I'm soundly whooped. I learn from it, and become a better player for it.
When i started hearing you say " i feel bad because im stomping them " at the start i immediately took it the wrong way. However Im really glad i watched the entire vid. A classy guy. Was a fantastic watch ^^
The Lore of 40k is astonishing. If Henry Cavill and Amazon are true to the lore blessed with proper casting; nary a soul will have dry eyes as they bear witness to the cosmic heights of stupendous drama that only the 40K universe is capable of unleashing.
You are my inspiration as a Game Master! I really hope you'll consider doing another Wrath and Glory game and try using models to represent tactical situations. It's been a lot of fun with my group. So many people love Warhammer, they just don't care much for wargaming.
This is so cool, i'm hoping to play my first game of the new Kill Team sets Today, my friend and I are going to Stumble through the rules and try and not accidentally cheat too much. I have been collecting armies and building the kill team sets for about 2 years now but i haven;t started playing until today hopefully. I am collecting Tau, Orks, and Space Dwarves for Normal 40K and then i have the first 3 boxes of the New sets of Kill team and i'll get the 4th when it comes out, I'm also getting all the Arks of Omen books so i can play the Campaign once i learn the game properly. This event you're at is my goal, to be able to Run one of my armies in a major narrative event with people, I think i'm probably a year or 2 away from that but i'm excited to start playing the game soon, just need to get a few more things built form the pile of shame and i'll have enough to do some 500 pts arks of Omen games.

Matthew’s a madman. 5 kids??? And Warhammer???
Dude puts the work in. God bless.
Thankfully Warhammer is my job, so at least there's that!
Jealous
He is planning ahead to the day where they can paint for him
@@jaskim5723 This guy’s on a different level
5 Kids,.... so much suffering... just why? :D

The imperial priest turning into a Magnus is one of my favorite things about this. Like I wonder if someone suggested that to him or he did that on his own, either way its great.
You’ve got a heart of gold, to worry that much about your opponents fun! Not everyone would do that! Good sportsmanship
And then keeps crushing then 🤣🤣🤣
I'm so happy you had a good time!! Corbin and I (the plague priest) will be at the Kansas City narrative in June. We both started new armies after seeing them at the grand narrative. Heck ya! Narrative events are my niche, and I would love to attend an event of this quality at the bunker. Hook us up MWG!
It was such a fun event !
This much love for the narrative aspect is bringing joy to my storyteller heart!❤🔥🤟
Great vid.
I love the idea of this! We need more events like this… first I just need an army myself
It was awesome getting to see you in my stomping grounds! So glad you had fun, and am looking forward to future narrative events!
this is exactly what inspired me to recently get into warhammer, all the stories you can imagine happening on your tabletop battlefield
They should tell people which units are allowed. Would solve the problem where some people don´t understand that this is not a competition and the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

I love your content, these videos are likely my favorite. You look so happy in your element
I have watched this video 3 times this week. I really miss my little gaming group and the community we started years ago at my store. Happy to see you looking to get back into the saddle!
Glad you enjoyed it!
It was sooooooooo much fun! My Moonz and I can’t wait for the next one. WAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!
Loved everything about this video! Excellent job!
That's so exciting! I'll have to renew my vault membership for some narrative goodness!

Such a great video. I keep coming back for more, and I'd love to see an AOS narrative campaign
It looks real good. I am happy to see you found a way to balance the games in the end.
I am impressed how much your son looks like you. He just is a mini-Mathew.
Wow this was a nostalgia trip! I remember binge watching MWG videos over a decade ago. This was a joy to watch!
Hope you are able to bring something like this to the local Ontario scene.
As a new player, I wrote off Crusade Rules because I didn't know that anyone played em. I played my first crusade game earlier in tts and loved it. Now, I think im gonna change my army to better fit my simplistic play style, and I'm absolutely revamped to play more.
‘Thats what I love about narrative war gaming’ mate you crushed everyone

Thank God games workshop makes epic cinematics ❤

Really warming video :) together nerds! The fact you were more concerned about your opponent having fun just speaks 1000 words. Really great video
@Miniwargaming- omg! thank you!

I keep forgetting you folks are in Canada! For some reason I'm surprised and excited every time it comes up 😆
Thanks for another great vid!
Dayum thats so beautifuk to see, great models, tabels, people in constume
Lovely family. I'm glad to see you are doing well. Keep making the world smile. :)
This is so awesome love it!!
When i started hearing you say " i feel bad because im stomping them " at the start i immediately took it the wrong way. However Im really glad i watched the entire vid.
A classy guy. Was a fantastic watch ^^
All Guardsman Party. Need a campaign about idiots and comedy. Like Expendables.
The Lore of 40k is astonishing. If Henry Cavill and Amazon are true to the lore blessed with proper casting; nary a soul will have dry eyes as they bear witness to the cosmic heights of stupendous drama that only the 40K universe is capable of unleashing.
spend a fortune on blood effects and guts 😆
I can't believe you fit this all into one 12 minute video hahaha, I reckon I would have stayed watching for a whole hour! (I subbed)
I can’t wait for narrative campaigns at MWG… hopefully I can finally make a trip there since I only live about 2hrs away
This is amazing!!!!
I wish I could get the people in my area to do a narrative set of games.
6:54 truly epic room design. I was dissapointed.
that chick in the aeldari costume and general castigane costumes were the best ones
Great video, great candor.
This is soooo cool!!! Thanks Matt!!
You are my inspiration as a Game Master! I really hope you'll consider doing another Wrath and Glory game and try using models to represent tactical situations. It's been a lot of fun with my group. So many people love Warhammer, they just don't care much for wargaming.
"Itadakimas, it's Tau for "thank you for the biomass."
Why was there like 5 minutes of just a black screen
3:13 General Dripstar Supreme
Oh muh Lawwwd!
the smell would've made nurgle blush
Hi, 40K is next level.
Narrative gaming sounds like it would be great fun.
That's awesome.
Dude this looked awesome! Cheers to wargaming!
This is how you should play this game every time.
If I had a army worthy enough for a narrative campaign, i would fly out to Toronto every chance I got.
I'm envious of Corbin's pauldron.
siriuosly the guy in the thumbnail should have a role in Cavils Warhammer series, he looks soooooooooooooooo fukn warhammer
Sorry i don't Trust any of those links, and i don't Care who sended the Link. This is how you get genestealers.
Can we get the army list for the Black Templar player??? Asking for a neophyte...
Looks like a lot of fun!
That is amazing, I hope they will Do something like that in Europe someday.
this makes me wish i still had my metal blood angel dreadnought
That is just so amazing
Thanks mate.
This looks like so much fun.
Almost every episode of Documentary Now with Fred Armisen constantly leaving his wife behind comes to mind XD
More Gorkamorka narrative campaigns!!!! (Please and thank you)
he knew he shoulda took that left turn at Albuquerque
Damn, now I feel inspired.
Also I love that people have incredibly crafted armies, but their name tags are so low quality lol.
Great video Matt 👍
Mrs. Matthew is banking favors for all these events. ;)
Sick stuff!
Xenos could devour New Mexico and I'd thank them for it.
Cool event though! I'll have to check it out sometime.
