How does this 1990’s designed & 2010 built ship compare with modern cruise ships. I’ll give you my tips of the best bars and restaurants and the ones to avoid.

Great tour and video! We loved our cruise on Azura earlier in the year, nice to see some of the familiar friendly faces of the staff that served us so well! 😊🛳
The crew were so helpful and attentive and really made the cruise such a great experience. I did feel bad as sometimes they looked exhausted.

That is a lot of sunbeds always good to not have to fight for one! Ooh your breakfast looked good but shame it’s a small buffet area. The atrium looks very pretty and grand 🤩 Brodie’s looks like a winner!

After watching your recent videos I think that cruising will blow you both away. You seem to enjoy the food and entertainment which are both great.
This was a cheap week away on an older P&O ship but I’m on Iona in a few weeks so I’ll be able to show how their very modern ships compare.

There’s so much to do and if you don’t want to see your kids for a few hours then it’s perfect for that!
He was so into that race, he won $10!! I thought it was as going to be a lot more than that.

The classic look of Azura looks great. The spaces look well thought out and it doesn't look like you are seated on top of each other (which I found on the new Disney Wish). Shame the buffet was so busy as the food looks lovely. I hope you had a great cruise.
I do get the feeling some of the newer ships are really cramming people in on the outside decks. It’s not for me.

She’s a great size so that there’s lots of places to spend time with your family but also chilled out areas if you need it.

Fantastic ship tour!! This ship looks fantastic. That afternoon tea looks INCREDIBLE. I would love that so much. Wow, nice to see people won't be fighting for sunbeams on this ship haha! Always fun to see the live entertainment on the pool deck, love the 80s classics haha! I would love to try that Jude's ice cream hehe. The Glass House looks like a nice specialty dining spot. Nice they had the best beer on the ship hehe! Caviar in the Blue Bar sounds so fancy haha! I've never had Indian food before so I would love to try the Indian restaurant. So nice they went to the other restaurant to get your beer, wow! Amazing service. Always love seeing the food in the Main Dining room, and even better when the food is great! Fantastic tour and tips!! :) Thanks for sharing with us!

You forgot to mention the ice cream bar. The Buffet is the only place I had my meals as I didn’t indulge in the dressing up malarkey. Never incurred queuing in the buffet, I was one of the first every day, breakfast and dinner, and evening. The buffet opens at 7am all the food at this time is perfect.

The decks do look dated and what’s going on with green flooring on Azura and Ventura!!
💯 agree on comments on the buffet. Love the glass house and atrium looks more modern than Ventura.
When they added more cabin decks they should have made changes to the communal areas. Everywhere was just so busy and the buffet really couldn’t cope.
That green flooring is very is it’s time. I need to play more croquet 😂

Thanks for this walkthrough. My wife and I are traveling on the Azura in late August leaving Valletta and cruising to Split, Dubrovnik, Corfu, and Taranto.
We cruised on Cunard Queen Elizabeth last year and although the Aura looks like a somewhat larger ship, the ambiance etc. seemed much the same.
What I didn't like about QE was that because the ship was only around half full, it lacked any real atmosphere. There was also nothing special about theme nights, no music in the dining rooms or any other attempt at entertainment other than the usual shows and bands playing. The public areas were also very cold as the a/c was too strong. The Azura looks a little more lively and hopefully where will be a better sense of occasion on it.
This will be our 6th cruise so your walkthrough has given us a really good idea of the best spots on the ship.

I’ve not sailed on Cunard yet but I would expect your Azura trip to be more energetic, especially in Brodies and at the pool bar areas.
I think that you will enjoy Celebration Night with the free bubbly adding to the evening.
Sounds like you have a wonderful itinerary. Ours went to the Canaries and Madeira, the latter being the main reason for this cruise.

If you have a tuxedo then by all means bring it with you but don’t feel the need to hire one as I know some people do,
Otherwise a dark suit and tie is more than adequate. I hope that you enjoy it too, it’s a great experience.
Great ship tour, you had me at deck 18...bar . What was the charge for the adult only area ?
The Retreat costs £20 on a sea day and £12 on a port day and you do get some food too.
Great video Steve! Do you find being on a cruise restricting? I think I would get bored and go stir crazy after a couple of days.
Thanks Jason. Cruise ships aren’t restricting as you get off most days and explore somewhere new and there are so many different bars and restaurants in the evenings that you’re too busy to be bored 😂
Its only good if you like to enjoy yourself. If not got a hotel and be bored shitless!!!

Great video! Is there a dress code for the bars and restaurants?
Only on formal nights which is a really just a suit and tie for the gents and a dress for the ladies. If you want to wear more casual clothing then head to the buffet and the outside bars.
The rest of the time is all really relaxed.
Great tour! Can you access the front of the ship on Deck 16 without paying to go into the retreat?
You can go there and walk around but it’s not somewhere you can linger too long without paying.
Tbh the price you pay you can't expect 5* go princess cruises if you want 5*! You ca t beat princess cruises for food
I totally agree, I’ve had a couple of great cruises on Princess without any issues.
You do get what you pay for.
