I just listened to it and find it good in Spanish. (My native language is French and i like too her french voice) In fact I don't find that the soft voice corresponds much to the confident and sarcastic/rebellious character of Coraline. For me her voice should be more, provocative and sarcastic and annoyed in the real world but becomes "normal" when she is happy or not angry
@@ssh1487honestly I don't get all the hate against dubs, I don't have trouble reading quickly or anything- but it's difficult for me to understand the words and tone when different sounds are playing than what I'm reading (I watch everything in english but with cc on) :)
I love Laika. They're so creative and fill you with inspiration as well. I remember seeing this film and immediately wanting to create something as well. All the little details bring it together. That garden will always be pure magic to me.
In an age where good movies are getting harder and harder to find, this studio always makes unforgettable masterpieces of film, keep doing what you do best LAIKA
I truly believe Coraline is the absolute peak of stop motion. It's old school enough to know that it's stop motion with the naked eye, with some incredible innovations that really brought it to life in a way other films hadn't before. It's just a gorgeous film that looks intriguing from start to finish. All the right moves were made with this movie.
Coraline was such a big part of my childhood and I’ll always remember it as my childhood favourite film and one of my all time favourite movies. Whether they end up making a sequel I’m proud to say that this is an incredible movie and I hope it always gets remembered as that.
Thank you for all of your amazing behind the scenes videos, I saw the LAIKA exhibit at the Portland Art Museum years and years ago and it changed my life to see how the films were made. Years later, I’m finally taking steps to pursue stop motion & there really is an unfortunate lack of information for those not in school on how to go about specific stop motion aspects. LAIKA behind the scenes videos have been so crucial for me as I explore stop motion before taking next steps to pursue it academically ❤️
The amount of care that goes into these movies, its like a love letter to the fans, especially coraline. I just wish more people would read the book it was based on
I love Coraline as a child. Seeing the stop-motion process is truly enlightening. I could see how the stop-motion animators put a LOT of effort into this classic. I salute you!
Stop frame will always be my favourite film style. It's pure art, it's real, it's effort and the whimsical results it produces are just mesmerising. In this age of computers and AI I hope stop frame is carried on far into the future and is never forgotten
I wanted to be an animator since I was 6 years old (I’m now 50). Nothing gets me more excited than good animation and Coraline was just fantastic! By far the most amazing stop motion I’ve ever seen in my life! There were very few parts that actually gave away what it was (such as the mice when they jump in synch), but the entire movie was so well done, it really was difficult to tell. This was truly great animation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Let's face it. Coraline lived through an event that would've put 90% of us into a mental hospital, 5% into a traumatized state, another 5% into a psychotic state, and would've caused the majority of those people to go absolutely crazed, trying to get to the "Other Side".
The best ‘horror for kids’ movie of all time. It still creeps me out to this day,, because it brings me back to that point in my life where I loved exploring and hunting around. Seeing this for the first time in my house up on a mountain. I read through the short story not long after and imagined THIS Coraline going through it all.
I totally forgot that Coraline was claymation. Whenever I see it, my brain tells me it's claymation-styled digital animation. It's so cool what people can do with pure, unadulterated, patience. They can make masterpieces, like this movie.
Even though coraline is the reason for my childhood trauma, looking back at it damn that is some amazing animation and I wish there were more movies like that
One of the things i appreciated about Coraline vs the other LAIKA movies (which i still love, of course) is that it's not overly produced. You see traces of the artists in the characters and the set, which adds richness to the film. By the time you get to Kubo and Link, they're so smooth they might as well be CGI. I say bring back the earthiness of Coraline, paired with an excellent story.
