Thank you for your instructions my mom made this shawl for me and I have been getting many people that love it. They ask if I made it or bought it and I am proud to say it was made by my mom.
Beautiful I’m making one right now with you is for my friend at work she doesn’t know yet it’s for her mom in Puerto Rico she’s sick right now ❤thanks I looked for you and you make so simple that I could understand if I don’t know how to do it I do it all over again and watch the video❤
You have such a pleasant voice. I am going to make one of these for all of my ladies in my family. Thank you for teaching us. I wanted to learn how to make shawls. I remember watching Dr Quinn medicine woman and I remembered all the young women always had a shawl to wear. So thank you for teaching me and once again you have a pleasant teaching voice and make it easy to learn
Love this pattern!! Perfect for Caron cakes. I went to Michaels today and completed hoarded a bunch of these and had no idea what I wanted to make. I have made a couple of scarves with this yarn and absolutely love the feel ! I think the little bit of wool really makes it so special (and of course some of the beautiful color combinations) thank you so much for making such great tutorials! You explain directions so perfectly!
I finished this today using the same yarn and hook size. I did not have enough yarn so had to go into my stash and do row 29 in white and then the scallop row in white. I didn't do the ruffles. It looks great!😁
I love making this shawlette and I've made several. but I want to say that the 2 double crochets in the beginning and at the end could be improved. I just made another one and made 3 double crochets at the end with a chain one and then the single double crochet for the edge of it and it looks much more finished. when I was doing the two double crochets chain one and then the single double crochet the cluster looked like it was split and didn't look right. it looks much better when you do 3 double crochets at each end because then all the clusters look the same
I just finished my shawlette and I love it. I used Blueberry Shortcake for mine and just love how the colors change. I'm hooked, I had so much fun making it and so easy. I think I'll make another. Thank you for making it so simple and easy.
I cannot thank you enough! Seemed like a very complicated project but your instructions are quite clear so the final product is amazing! Thank you so much!! I just love this one a lot!
I've made many of these following your tutorial. You explain everything so well. I've also made some shorter in length to use as a scarf by wrapping the ends around the back of your neck. They turned out perfect. Thank you so much as I am a follower of your tutorials.
I made in this in Big Cakes color "Afternoon Tea" ( BEAUTIFUL!") added more rows and made a full sized shawl and my sister wanted it so now I have to make another one for me!
Absolutely beautiful. I have some of that yarn and I'm going to make one. I crochet & knit and donate my work to Missions all over the world. I also crochet/knit for my friends and family.
I love how you present your experience and explanation of how to create. Thank you for sharing your experience and skills. I have 16 weeks of experience.
Hello from the UK. I just finished making your shawlette in Caron Cake bumbleberry. I found I used 1.5skeins and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you so much for a lovely to listen to and easy to understand tutorial. Love watching your videos 👍🏼😃
This is so pretty.. Am going to mk one for my daughter whose 8 yes old. She loves colorful shawls. Thanks Jennifer.u hv made it so easy to follow.I have made it. It looks v v pretty.
I originally made this last yr into the size you mentioned in the same colorway. I've worn it a few times & now decided to make it bigger & thankfully I still have plenty of this color. Plus I crocheted around wooden rings to attach to each front corner which I had to remove but that's ok I can always attach them once this shawl is to the size I really want. Thanks again & happy hooking. BTW love your tutorials as I've used many of them.
Jennifer, you are totally cracking me up. You can tell how excited you are about the Caron Cakes and the color changes. ( or whatever sub-standard yarn you might be using, lol)
I just finished this shawl and was excited how easy to complete the project this was. I want to do another making it larger. I assume that as long as I complete an odd number of rows, the scalloped row should work out ok. I was surprised how much yarn was eaten doing the ruffle: I knew it would be a lot but it was twice the amount I estimated for it.
I love all your videos. I made the lucky shawlette and I use two skeins to make it bigger for me and I love it! I also love the yarn, Caron Cakes it is now one of my favorite yarns.
Becca Gipson Hello, May I ask you if you don’t mind, if to increase the rolls, we have to add one more chain or not? I am sorry because I am a beginner and even watching the video, I get confused. My mother in law, wants a shawl and asked me to make one!?😖I am kinda of scared! I didn’t want say NO, because I love her to bits! 😍 I don’t want disappoint her! Thank you and have a wonderful week! 🌷🌸🌼
Thanks for the great tutorial and pattern. It was just what I was looking for. My daugther wants a shawl for Christmas. I'm going to get the yarn tomorrow and start it right away!
I love your patterns I’m learning so much I made this and my mom wanted it a Christmas so gonnna make another one I’m also making your begginer scarf thank you for your patterns
I just finished this pattern for one of my granddaughters. She chose this one out of several to pick from. I used Lion Brand Ice Cream/Strawberry. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely Gorgeous! This will be one of my next projects to do before it starts to cool off. I have balls of scrap yarn I can use. (Poor). I know it will be alot of ends to weave in, but will be well worth it. Thank for the easy totural to follow. 💕💖💕💖💕
I loved making this shawlette. It's beautiful. I made it for a christmas present this coming year. i plan on making more of these in different colors and sizes. thank you!
Lovely. I love the ruffle and am going to try it now -- and I think I will keep it going across the top edge, to make it soft and cozy around the neck. Any comments, fellow crocheters?
sweetpidi: I saw that color today, I started to get it, but I changed my mind and decided to get it in the color shown in the video from Pinterest/UA-cam.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Gonna make me and my daughter one. Question...how many rows do I make before I do the last two rows of border so I'll know when to stop the shawl and start the border, you go girl beautiful work and you explained your work so well...A+ A+A+
Lovely shawl. I'm making one with cotton thread for a lacy look. Yes, very challenging you work with thread but looks great. Just wanted to mention that I think you made an error in row 4. You started with three dc instead of two. Confused me at first but I double checked in the written pattern and it was supposed to be two. Thanks for sharing!
Super easy to make . I would suggest someone learning a granny square first if theyre a beginner once you know that smooth sailing. Did mine in sunflower and added a white border.
I would also add that if you want to do the finishing edge with the shell and the the ruffles you have to do an odd number of rows for it to work. What I mean is that when you get to the apex of the triangle, the space before needs to have the shell rather than a slip stitch, then the slip stitch & 10dc. I had done 28 rows and realized it looked weird with a slip stitch before the point and a slip stitch after the point. 🤦🏻♀️
WOW....what a great pattern and I just ❤ the yarn you used. I will definitely make this for my daughter. Any suggestions on the # of rows for an 8 year old?
Love this but I have a question. If I wanted to use the scalloped border for a granny square baby blanket, would the four corners be treated like the point of the triangle?
On row four you start with your chain 4 and 3 double crochets and then you end with 2 double crochets chain 1 then 1 double crochet. So do we start with the 3 doubles or is 2 doubles like the previous rows. Thank you. It is such a beautiful pattern. I will be using left overs in a rainbow of colors.
Tanya Lakin , from R 4 , 3 dc after ch 4 , and go on until you finish your size R2 & R3 just 2 dc on both size , that make your shawl curl .... I am really like this design
I'm so bummed. I running out of yarn!!! I'm not even going to have enough to finish the scallops. Could have been that loose on my tension? I hope I didn't get a defective cake that was short on yarn :( I chose the pink colorway, so I ran out on the red and I think I can find a match of the dark pink to finish it off. I love it...I won't give up!
Confused about row 4. I see in the video, you added three dc but the written pattern says to add 2 dc, which makes sense if the chain of 4 is to count. Which way should we go? Thanks a bunch, this is my first granny stitch project.
I'm watching and crocheting as I watch. I didn't see you chain I after the top corner peak of row 4 before going into 1st chain 1 space going down the other side of the triangle. The written pattern says to ch1 there. Am I doing something wrong? it's at 14:30 give or take a second or two. Thanks for any help you can provide.
She works 2 double crochet in the video in the corner. I would put three double crochet because that chain 4 represents the corner. Hope that made sense.
i'm working on this currently! i love it so far! very simple instructions. just 1 question: row 4 in the first chain space the video says 3 dc and the last chain space it says 2 dc. the written instructions say 2 dc in first and last chain space. i just want to verify the written instructions are accurate. maybe i'm completely misunderstanding something.
I’m wondering the same thing 🤔 I was about to ask this too and saw u did here but she hasn’t replied to u yet 🥺 what we suppose to do I wonder 🤔 hmm now I’m stuck in place
I had the same doubt !! I've decided to follow her written pattern ,as she does the same from row 2 and as the triangle needs to be perfect, we need to start n end in same ways I guess..
So beautiful 😍 I love the scalloped border that absolutely can stand alone.
Thank you for your instructions my mom made this shawl for me and I have been getting many people that love it. They ask if I made it or bought it and I am proud to say it was made by my mom.

Yea, this definitely takes more than one cake of yarn.
I love making this shawlette and I've made several. but I want to say that the 2 double crochets in the beginning and at the end could be improved. I really adore the way you explain the details of what you do. Helps a lot for a beginner like me. Thanks a lot and greetings to you from Cairo, Egypt
I finished mine and it turns out beautiful and nice. I used color purple, pink peach and grey. Thank you for your free and amazing tutorial.
Thank you. Easy to follow. Made a really bright, colorful one, with the ruffled border, too. Fun.
I made in this in Big Cakes color "Afternoon Tea" ( BEAUTIFUL!") added more rows and made a full sized shawl and my sister wanted it so now I have to make another one for me!

Ta
I just finished this pattern for one of my granddaughters. She chose this one out of several to pick from. I used Lion Brand Ice Cream/Strawberry. Thanks for sharing.

I can’t wait to start this pattern I have several yarn colors that would look amazing and I have decided not to do the ruffle edging as well
I just found your channel and love it. Thank you.😘
Lovely. I love the ruffle and am going to try it now -- and I think I will keep it going across the top edge, to make it soft and cozy around the neck. Any comments, fellow crocheters?

Just starting another shawl using Lion Brand Ferris wheel color way “cotton candy”.

Que Lindo😍😍
Parabéns👏👏👏👏
Amei esse video!!
Parabéns!!
Beautiful
Thank you for sharing this great pattern. I made it but the Caron cake is little stiff yarn. Do you have any suggestions for softening the yarn?
Love it :) thank you so much for sharing ♥

Hi could I use the lion brand cupcake #3 weight yarn for this ? It requires the same hook a 5mm. 😋
Confused about row 4. I see in the video, you added three dc but the written pattern says to add 2 dc, which makes sense if the chain of 4 is to count. Which way should we go? Thanks a bunch, this is my first granny stitch project.
It’s 2dc. The written pattern is correct.

The written pattern says to ch1 there. Am I doing something wrong? it's at 14:30 give or take a second or two. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Очень красиво!!!
Would mandala yarn work? Thank u love ur videos
Me gustó mucho gracias
the written pattern for Row 4 says to work 2 DC in the beginning check 1 space. the video says 3 dc. Which ic correct?
I saw the same thing... I don’t know which to do!
She works 2 double crochet in the video in the corner. I would put three double crochet because that chain 4 represents the corner. Hope that made sense.
soooooooooooooooo pretty thanks
Just finished!! Turned out beautiful however I did not leave enough yarn to do the last row to make it ruffle.
Awesome! I love it too without the ruffle. :)
i'm working on this currently! i love it so far! very simple instructions. just 1 question: row 4 in the first chain space the video says 3 dc and the last chain space it says 2 dc. the written instructions say 2 dc in first and last chain space. i just want to verify the written instructions are accurate. maybe i'm completely misunderstanding something.

It’s a mistake in the video. It’s 2dc in the first space in the 4th row. The written pattern has it correct.
