2021 Skoda Kushaq Driven | A Better SUV than Creta and Seltos ? | evo India

- Опубліковано 15 чер 2024
- It’s finally here and we love it! We have tested the Skoda Kushaq 2021 with the 1.5 litre TSI Evo engine mated to the manual gearbox and this is the new fun-to-drive benchmark in the mid-size SUV class. The new MQB-A0-IN platform delivers a European level of sophistication to the dynamics with both excellent ride quality and precise, composed and involving handling. Space inside is good for four, the equipment levels are good enough and the engines are enthusiastic, though there are no diesels. Is it better than the Creta and Seltos ? Watch the review to find out

Would you pick the Skoda Kushaq over its rivals?
Of course vw group anyday
No In because in Assam we have only 1 Skoda Dealer.Poor avaiablity of service center and spare parts.I think they will price it between 13-18lakhs bcoz VW group dont sell cheap products
Yes if it's under 16 for 1lt Automatic. Onroad.
yes! but let's wait for the prices
It's not mid size suv it's compact suv mid size suv means ,fortuner endeavour ,mg gloster, alturas g4
Hi Sirish, that was a wonderful review. Waiting for your tidbits on the 1.0 TSI. The way you present really keep me hooked up till the end 😃👍
Very very nice review covered all the areas. The only journalist showed the inside of Skoda and the cost cutting.
I was waiting this review. Amazing work Evo 🔥, please do comparison with Taigun once it's launched
Thanks for watching! Coming soon 😉
will do!
Built quality, Interior Fit and Finish, Best Quality lot of Safety features...Skoda at it's best, The best ❤️
Yep!
Didnt we just see the entire roofline shake?
@@jhaabhishek right🤣🤣
The interior quality is the worst skoda has put out.. i mean if you are cutting costs let that reflect in the price as well. Not doing so makes it a half hearted attempt after all. Quality of panels, rear camera, offering lesser sensors, 2 airbags only on tsi is baffling. Expecting peeps to pay 20L OR for the TM you need to spec it right.
Love the Sturdiness and Understated Elegance of the Volkswagen AG cars.
Even Kushaq is continuing the legacy of the same in terms of styling and design aspect.
Moreover, the 1.5L TSi would be a hooligan in terms of performance alongwith cylinder deactivation technology for extracting more miles per litre of fuel 🔥

Good Review... 👍🏻
Like to see one more review on Volkswagen Taigun...is it really comes when..?
Good and Honest review ever seen. Good Job.
Thanks for choosing MT variant, which I will be getting 👍🔥
Brilliant Review !
I went on a test drive, and booked Style 1.0 TSI. The ride quality is totally different, and the torque omg, it just pulls the vehicle with no effort.
11:23 Love the expression 😂
Thank you for the thorough review! 😍👍🏻
Safer than mentos and creta. And also better petrol engine.
😂
Yes i have also noticed that mentos build quality is poor. 😂
I’d choose slightly hard plastic interior than a unstable chassis on Korean.
u should if u want to check stability of chasis take the car to offroad u will definitely came to know in few seconds because the car which don't have stable chasis will produce rattling sound
kushaq one has unstable chassis too. check the crash test report/

Nobody does car reviews like Sirish. Most honest reviewer covering in depth about the car
if you are enthusiast just be here or else go to other regular review channels. Simple honest review. LOVED IT. Great work. Specially liked the naahhhh and yeaah thing.

All good car skoda
☺️ Nice video editing 👌
💪evo India🌹🌹🌹 ❤️👍
When are you coming with 1.1 lts version review and which one is more value for money of the both Shirish..?
Please review the 1.0L Manual and auto, preferably middle variants.
Yeah you have the best job in the world :) Driving all the cars that comes out in the market.
Finally someone test drove the manual.
Ist video before launch 👍💐👌
🚀
I would've easily traded the sunroof for better quality plastics. Comment if you agree with me sensible people
Very honest review
I hope they take a leaf of the compass playbook and add a night blue shade. It'll look badass.
No substitute for skoda( vw groups ) proud owner of rapid..hopefully the 1.5 tsi will be a blast.
Hey Sirish
How do you rate the Kushaq against the Yeti Elegance 4x4 of ten years ago?
Save for lack of 4x4, Kushaq is better. Dynamically more sorted, more fun -- engineering standards of not just VW Group but the entire automotive industry has taken a huge leap forward
Reviewing after driving 250 kms
- Kushaq is nice to drive and will feel modern and robust.
- Overall driving dynamics, ride, steering controls and sharp turn handling is class-leading. Feels too safe and pleasure to drive.
- All important security features that we use and are mandatory for safe driving dynamics at 18 lac on-road makes it the best choice.
- Unique 2-spoke steering wheel (from Superb, Octavia)
- Kushaq though has 385ltr capacity can easily fit the same baggage as Creta/Seltos (claim 400+ ltrs.)
- Carbon Steel paint finish looks very nice, upmarket and premium. - 6-speaker audio system is surprisingly crisp and great sound with subwoofer.
Negatives:
- The steering feels a bit too light even at high speeds and could've weighed up better for more responsive feel though controlling it is precise.
- Rear disk break and Digital instrument cluster.
- No 6 air bags other than 1.0 MT - this is illogical.
- Yes, priced 50k to 70k on the higher side - but performance, safety features (even in base models) and the driving experience of both 1.0 and 1.5-litre TSI variants somewhat justifies the price.
I highly recommend Skoda Kushaq for those looking for premium small and powerful compact SUV for its clean design, driving dynamics, safety features and the Skoda brand and who cant afford T-Roc :)
I mean, you can't beat manual transmission. You just can't. AT is pure convenience for City, specially traffic ride. But if you ride out-city even once a week -- get a manual transmission, its a league of its own. That said, I currently own an i20 AT and miss my old i20 MT, so yeah.
Well designed good in fit and finish for indian customers from skoda hope the price also suits the car well
I would prefer this over creat and seltos any day... It looks awesome, awesome engine and transmission, solidly built and feature rich. What else one would want. I wish Skoda and VW bring something in the premium hatchback segment.
Skoda Kamiq & Volkswagen Vento Sedan is coming to India 🇮🇳
Is that fuel pump issue resolved?
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON GLOSTER VS ALTROZ VS ALCAZAR VS SAFARI etc
बहुत बढ़िया कार 👌😊
Skoda got a winner here👍
0:54 OH YEAH!!!!!... The best job!... Too bad I didn't study well and got into freaking boring stuff.. the ONE object in this world which has attracted me since I can remember is a car! ...... Happy for y'all ⚡
Shirish ..
7:54 to 8:11 you spoke the facts..
& 8:10 that reaction 🤘
I liked the prototype wheels more!!
Can you do a video on Kushaq 1.5 DSG vs Jeep 1.4 DSG
I had already booked style version. Is it value for money or change?
ORIGINAL diktha hai ye gadi👌👌👌
Boot space view ?
Kushaq has 999 cc n 3 cylinder engine n gives 175 n/m torque...will that damage the engine ?? Creata n seltos has 4 cylinder engine n gives 144 n/m torque
Xuv300 w8 petrol manual in 12 lac is best buy or not
Everything will depend on after sales service cost and experience.
They can reduce the service charges but what about the cost of spares and general wear and tear!
Agree the spares are the highest in the VW Group & that's where Hyundai takes the share... VW should understand...
The new Skoda vw products are now fully localised so no spares from Germany now , so the parts costs are going to come down drastically and so will the service costs ,
Just in account Skoda cars are serviced after every 15,000 kms as compared to others 10,000 kms and if the service cost is 10,000 also that’s acceptable it means 6500-7000 for every 10,000 kms
@@abhishekchaudhry3979 Presently VW Vento Regular Service charge is ₹18,000 against Hyundai's Accent ₹6,000. On comparision Hyundai comes to ₹18,000 for 30,000 kms & Vento comes to ₹18,000 for 15,000 kms. Equation is double for VW Vento.
@@rajoosolanky780 what, stop spreading rumours. I did 1.20 lakh service which was major service from showroom. It costed me 14K
@@rajoosolanky780 and why on earth is accent compared to vento , I own vento tdi and verna 1.6 crdi the service for vento comes out at 10-12500 max till now and it’s driven 1,64,000 kms and verna comes out to be 8000-10000 and it’s also driven 1,48,000 kms so the cost in 30,000 kms comes out to be almost same
skoda is always a skoda. awesome pdt but lack of diesel mill is very disappointing
Have never seen Sirish sir moaning over AC vents like that 🤣🤣
hahahaha
Please make review of 1liter tsi...automatic
Very expensive it is 16L ! @skodaindia should have thought
12 lac ₹ for base Active & 18.5 lac ₹ for Style both Manual. (On road)
I think they have priced it well. Though I think 1.5 TSI DSG is slightly overpriced. Should have definitely been under 20 lac₹.
Waiting for this since the prototype vlog
So have we!
"More weight gives you more confidence, more confidence lets you drive faster and..ok..you should not drive fast". Hence confusion about light steering wheel is removed. :P
why skoda always keeps blank switches? don't like to see them on top spec model
Boot space? Good enough for 4…?
Skoda KUSHAQ Ambition 1TSI AUTO Or Honda City ZX CVT Whichever is better for Ride, handling, performance, Safety and Quality of material.
Although these are different segments even I’m considering city now that kushaq is priced 16L on road. Naturally aspirated engine in city and all things good. Unless one needs a higher stance on road….
Is cost cutting over quality justify? I mean why we indians have to compromise on any product? Can you please explain
Because Skoda always uses high quality materials but to bring the costs down because it has to compete with seltos creta in terms of pricing so cost cutting has been done and when the prices will come out I think it will be justified because kushaq will defiantly undercut the creta in pricing by 1 lakh atleast
Which car is better in terms of steering heftness ? Which car would let me drive confidently & enjoy high speed ?
No double skoda and VW.. but yes create is good but steering confidence at High speed in not that much happy..
Create gives milage bit more.. overall driving confidence I prefer skoda and VW..
Get a pre owned Abarth Punto or Linea T-Jet, no electonic steering bullshit, turbo petrol, great suspension, pure driving bliss. Or any VAG car with a TSi if you want a new car.
Anything on ANCAP rating?...
A comparo in coming time with the korean siblings and nissan kicks will sum up the segment i guess, i hope it comes first from Evo india.
Despite the criticism, Sirish has made the day for the Kushaq. Skoda better realise that our expert reviewer has been polite and they need to up their game when it comes to the pricing
I’m surprised Škoda tuned the 1.5 MT not so aggressive, rather it’s all set for the cruise! Perhaps, something they reserved for the upcoming Slavia, to be a truly fun to drive sedan. Another surprise is the light steering 😩 Otherwise it appears a nice package - provided ŠKODA price it right.
Btw, when you say cost cutting is evident in the cabin, is it still going to be the segment benchmark in terms of fit and finish and the quality of plastics? Great review, indeed.
The engine and steering has probably been tuned to appeal to a wider audience, and not just enthusiasts ☹️
It is certainly at the top in terms of fit and finish in some places, not so much in others
Slavia???
@@sirishch I was referring to the new upcoming sedan. Wasn’t it rumoured to be called Slavia? May be the sedan to get a more aggressive 1.5 tune for the fun factor?
@@wheelspins I am waiting for the Slavia and the Virtus
Skoda done gudwork
Desperately waiting for kusaq vs creta
Shirish, you are by far one of the best auto reviewers in India, comprehensive and engaging in your commentary as always - keen to know which SUV/ cross over would you rate best for driving and handling under 25 lakhs category ?
1.0tsi review we need.
Please do compare Tata Safari vs Toyota Innova vs MG Hector Plus vs Hyundai Alacazar
Alcazar vs Safari is live on the channel
Hi team, I have booked Kia Seltos IMT last month, however delivery time for seltos is very high also the feedback for seltos which I have received for Seltos is not good. Now I am confused should I wait for seltos IMT or should I book Skoda kushaq 1.0 AT ambition.
I have test drived both the cars. Features wise toh I like seltos however bulid and premium feel is in skoda. Drive quality was good better in seltos coz there is little lag in initial stage of skoda.
Price difference in both the cars is almost of 2lac+ so shld I wait for seltos or is it worth to spend 16.5 lac on Kushaq my driving is majorly in city and on every 15days it is on highways.
Dil say toh i am interested in seltos and dimag say skoda.
Pls suggest 😀
Kushaq
Oh God, you all are so close to my house..!! Wish I could meet the team someday. ❤️
Editing this after watching the full video... what have they done to the quality yaar.. cost cutting at the cost of quality doesn't feel fair..! Certainly looks cheap inside the cabin.
Where is this place ?
Dynamically i am driving the best mid size suv...says all
You forgot ecosport though
His complains about the steering at 7:00 wont be the case in ecosport
@Mridul Pandey but Kushaq is just slightly bigger in length than Ecosport at 4.2 meter. Ecosport is wider and taller than Kushaq. Much better road presence with Ecosport.
Rewiew ambition variant
Rating 9/10 on an enthusiastic level, this makes a huge selling point for the like-minded customers.
PS: Again, I'm asking this : Your WAYFARER brand 😎 😀 ??
👍👍👍Good Review
I know why sirish sir needs the handbrake because for doing drifts
I am expecting a Creta vs Seltos vs Kushaq (top model). Comparison. Everyone is excited about this comparo
soon!
Yep. All Top powerful MT models.
@@sirishch try to get Seltos MT turbo this time.
Except the stying, there is not a lot of things going for Kushaq to go against the mighty Creta. Add the service center availability of Hyundai into the mix then it’s going to be a tough sell for Skoda
Skoda after sales n service will decide ..if it will be successful ..
I'll consider it over venue but not over creta/seltos
Everything is nice.. Yea.. But I don't know why do they cut corners where they don't have to... I'm a VW fan.. But this time. I'm not impressed.. Even creta gets a electronic parking brake.. And they cut corner here..
As it lacks few features of the creta which has. If Kushaq is priced 1.5 to 2 lakhs cheaper to creta and seltos then it's a bigger success story for skoda.
It is more powerful than creta, so it can be 1 to 2 lakh extra.
1.5 ltr coming out later so a comparison was reqd with 1 lit
All Rapid goodness in terms of quality minus the Sunroof would have done too... then there is always the option to offer exclusive top spec. The cost cutting for 18-20L OR is just not doing it right.
Either go all in or price it sensibly of cutting costs like this.
I like that "MMMMM/UMMMMM" sounds. 😅
I'm disappointed. If I buy a Skoda, I buy it because the handling and the steering are bang on, tailored for enthusiasts. The chassis is good but the lack of steering heft means you can't really enjoy all of that chassis. Besides, cost cutting is something that Skoda isn't associated with. Let's see if the upcoming Taigun is any different and learn from the Kushaq's shortcomings.
steering you get used to.... the inherent engineering is spot on
@@sirishch I cannot believe I got a reply from you ! This is such a surprise !
Is the steering as light as it's Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki rivals ? Or is it still better, despite being lighter than traditional VW/Skoda steerings that we know ?
I think Monte Carlo will be for enthusiasts.
Skoda is going to ruin it's image with those absurd cost cutting measures in the interior. Skodas are known for their rich feel. Big thumbs down for an otherwise well appointed car.
Absolutely. If price negates Quality in any way then no point of localisation. Disappointed
BRO I have a Skoda kushaq and lemme tell you that it doesn't feel less premium and other Skodas in any way. I also used to own rapid , vento and polo
Compare Kushaq vs Seltos and Cteta
How does this compare to seltos GTX turbo petrol 6 speed manual?
Nice Speedy on Nato....
13:20 Kush drifting video coming soon 😉😂
Wouldn’t Kushaq be in the category of say Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet or Renault Dustar or Kiger, Hyndai Venue? I don’t think given the engine size and overall package it’s in a similar league that of Kia Seltos or Hyundai Creta or Alcazar.
looks like those bottle holders in the doors are huge.. so bottles won't sit straight and they gonna rattle the hell out.
Sir you should have driven 1.0 litre manual or automatic engine as it would be launched first and later on 1.5 will be launched. 😑😑😑🙄
Good job evo... Would love to see Creta vs Kushaq side by side comparison...in terms of quality of the materials used...
It's smaller than seltos and creta. They should price it just above sonet and venue. Else it would be tough to outsell or even match the Korean cousins
Exactly my thoughts. Great car but needs aggressive pricing
Up side- high speed maneour
Downside-4 seater, 3cyl engine, interiors still behind competitors, scary service stories,
Target customers is very less, can expect around 1k units sales per month
Skoda ka target 3000 units/month ka hai india main filhaal.
Shayed isiliye wo kisi cheez se compromise nhi kar rahe hain.
Globally Skoda bahut successful hai to shayed ye log 10-15 saal ki planning kar k aaye hain is baar.
Pichle 3-4 saal se safety ki taraf log jyada dhyaan dene lage hain jiska fayda TATA ko hua or ab renault-nissan ko bhi ho rha hai.
India main paise walo ki kami nhi hai. Fortuner, innova, creta , seltos ye sab cars middle-class aadmi k budget se baher hain. Fir bhi bik rahi hain. Kushaq bhi bikne lagegi bus iska mileage thik thaak ho ,service cost or parts saste ho, or khareedne wale khud iski tareef kardein.
i20 ko flop bata diya tha logo ne. Bahut mehengi hai bola tha. Aaj dekh lo.
Quality or peace of mind ownership milegi to log paise kharch karne main sochte nhi hain.
It is lighter than creta and seltos. Finally Indians made skoda !!!
I've a Kia Seltos and just to correct you it's steering can be adjusted for both rake and reach.
Mileage kitna deti hae ?
14
From behind with this orange color. This car matches a bit with Renault triber 🤔
But one point sirish skoda is saying that 0-100 will be under 10 seconds
Loved the Car Overall, be it timeless Classic German design, built Quality, Safety, Driving Dynamics, Good Practical Feature list & comfortable Cabin Space. A near perfect Package for India.
Hope they price it well & offer 5 years Warranty on major parts, 5 free maintenance Services with all consumables & 5 years RSA to develop that Trust & Confidence of buying Skoda Cars.
Considering our Chaotic Traffic conditions & often mild collisions Expecting them to price their front & rear lamp clusters, bumpers & labour charges to be priced reasonably or affordable.
Only than Kushaq or Taigun might taste success against king Creata & Seltos in India.
