I love how their album title songs are piano instrumentals. I love going up to my non metal head friends, making them listen to this and then embodied deception and telling them that they were made by the same people.
these guys are so damn talented, i wish their albums were mastered better though, they sound real fuzzy. Paramour (Die Leidenschlaft) is also really good, more opera though, with only veronica for vocals and francesco ferrini on piano. Its beautiful
@knownodanger1 with this piano music. i dont wanna know what the hell they can do with a full instrumental song. i listened to one and my ears popped of and a white sticky gluey stuff gushed out from where they used to be lol....
I wish more there were more bands like Fleshgod. I listen to old school death metal alot, but not many bands can fuse death metal with neo classical this well.
@ElrichBros1992 honestly, Beethoven would probably be playing Metal if he were still alive today. Even when he WAS alive, his music was considered much darker than other composers.
@SmokeTheMist If you like metal, then you automatically like classical. Metal evolved from classical. Just listen to some russian composers and you'll hear the influence! :D
@Punjabi192 I know exactly what you mean, and a huge part of metal music IS influenced by classical music. Most notably progressive, thrash, and the more technical sides of death metal. However, the more 'primitive' sounds of metal, such as the -core genres, black metal, and early DM have their roots firmly attached in the 'metal' parts of the genres before them. Just because thrash music influenced black metal, doesn't mean black metal (kvlt in this case) has a hint of classical.
@Punjabi192 I hear that a lot, I have to disagree. Personally, I don't see any classical inflluences in stuff like glam metal, industrial metal, grindcore, or most early death metal stuff (Deicide, and Morbid Angel's debuts for example, Death's first 2 albums are exceptions).
@Punjabi192 I know a lot about musical theory. I have been in "band" for 8 years, and been in "a band" for 3. And, theory-wise, I wouldn't exactly call the "deeper sounds" anything musically theoretical. That is simply the distortion/guitar tone, and the nature of the riffs. Yes, a lot, A LOT of metal has classical influences, but not nearly all. There is a lot of metal that is more influenced by the blues scale, or even folky progressions.
Why is anyone hating on Necrophagist anyways? it's a great band, and so is Fleshgod Apocalypse [which remind me of Man Must Die, to be frank]. Hail to death metal!
@Punjabi192 You are not really contributing to the conversation haha. Yes, Sabbath (named Earth at the time) was a bluesy rock band. And yes, SABBATH is very influenced by blues, but once again, try to find some hint of blues music in Freedom Call's Out of the Ruins for example. Metal influences range from across the board, and all I am saying is that not all metal bands are influenced by classical artists, and not all artists are influenced by blues artists. and yes, that music theory.
I love it when the powers of metal and the powers of classical music come together it's truely a peice of art!!! powerful...strong and inspiring. and makes me want to burn babys....true art! lol
Necrophagist are just talented musicians who can't write good songs for shit. Fleshgod, on the other hand, kick ass from every point of view. These guys and Hour Of Penance are keeping the metal flowing.
It's melanin, not melamine. Melamine is a chemical compound and is formed by cyanamide when it is converted into dycandiamide and heated above its melting temperature.
tbh I'm not a big fan of the band but I like this particular song a lot more than a lot of songs by Rachmaninov although I should probably check out more of them haha
I love how their album title songs are piano instrumentals. I love going up to my non metal head friends, making them listen to this and then embodied deception and telling them that they were made by the same people.
Thanks to these guys, I now enjoy listening to some classical music as well as metal too! :)
these guys are so damn talented, i wish their albums were mastered better though, they sound real fuzzy. Paramour (Die Leidenschlaft) is also really good, more opera though, with only veronica for vocals and francesco ferrini on piano. Its beautiful
great song, love the piano..
Che un capolavoro bellissimo.
This band needs more fans. Pretty sure every metal fan would love them.
Finally, a modern piano piece that isn't just 4 crappy chords over and over. Yes, definitely reminds me of Rachmaninov. Is the key G minor?
wonder if it will open willy wonkas musical lock...
JUST AWESOME!
goes perfectly with rainymood.com
finally a badass metal band with heavy classical music influences. Im not alone :D
Piano Metal.
This is an amazing work from an amazing band.
@InsaneDemonMonkey
That's right baby, metal brother's gotta unite! Love not war! :)
Perfect!
@AwesomeMetalChick Can't agree more, I've always said metal is classical with distortion!
@knownodanger1 with this piano music. i dont wanna know what the hell they can do with a full instrumental song. i listened to one and my ears popped of and a white sticky gluey stuff gushed out from where they used to be lol....

agh.
really great pianist o.o

@rockntroopen i had the honor of shaking hands with the bassist while buying one of their shirts, and congratuated their performance :D
Saw them with Black Dahlia Murder earlier in the year and they killed it, awesome band live
love it!!!!!!!
Amazing!!!

it's so majestic it could be made in the baroque period you never know

This should be the Theme song for the Godfather.
That would be goddamn heavy as dick.
@SmokeTheMist listen to their other songs...they shred
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh so good
@InsaneDemonMonkey necrophagist is bad ass! although when FA starts getting brutal shits untouchable!

@SirSkullMat666 yyou speak the truth my metalhead brother
Can anyone recommend an artist or album of piano like this? I never want this song to end as soon as it does :(
+1
Rachmaninoff - Prelude in C Sharp Minor (Op. 3 No. 2)
Rachmaninoff - Moment Musicaux No. 4
Chopin - Ballade No. 2 in F major, Op. 38
Oh and Rachmaninoff - Little Red Riding Hood
@Punjabi192 props to brown people who like metal... glad i'm not the only one.
@deadrider24 ohh hell yeah agree with you brother
@MaritSkypeRape by behemoth?
@Blacksmith676 Well yeah, my mistake. Except for deathcore, I'd say it's most influenced by death metal, but yeah, you're right.
sometimes i listen to classical music just to imagine how brutal it would sound as a metal song.. >:)
WOW
0:22 sounds like the intro to Her Ghost in the Fog (by CoF)
Man i got to say italian Death metal is realy fucking cool!
I got ther album Mafia and i LOVED IT!
Erm, was it just me or did the audio stop at about 3 minutes? :/
@SirSkullMat666 I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU!!!
i love they sound
its fucking heavy
i bought this album last week and was angry at myself for wasting 1 year of my life without it........
i remember when i showed them this lick.
@DfeNsIvEmAn52 why not?
@Medsas don't even mention them in a Fleshgod Apocalypse video.
No dislikes. That's what I'm talking about.
i really (REALLY) like this, anyone got suggestions for similar stuff?
@MusicSportsPolitics except the -core genres are most influenced by Hardcore punk
I love it when the powers of metal and the powers of classical music come together it's truely a peice of art!!! powerful...strong and inspiring. and makes me want to burn babys....true art! lol
@hallowbe
I'll be glad to get it (:
badass
man i gotta meet this bands members and say that they kick ass
more of them as in more songs, for whomever thought I didn't know who Rachmaninov was lol.
uh. keyboard is basically a portable piano. im pretty positive its still considered an instrument bro.
@Medsas CoF isn't even black metal. they're blackened metal. blackened GOTH metal!
lol whats scene??
this song is pretty good, more on the mellow side...hey doesnt opeth have a song thats all piano too?
@deadrider24 They already do. Its why Deathcore exists. *gnashes teeth*
This is brutal/technical death metal
Necrophagist are just talented musicians who can't write good songs for shit.
Fleshgod, on the other hand, kick ass from every point of view. These guys and Hour Of Penance are keeping the metal flowing.
@MetalFishX
How can you even consider this piece as a filler?
keybored? what's one of those?
my grandpa just lost his toes to type 2 diabetes
oh I see thanks :)
@fatafreak91 agreed 100 percent
@ChimChimandChimaira both are great, personally I prefer Fleshgod
@ChimChimandChimaira Not better, just different but fucking amazing!
E qui c'è un italiano che dice BRAVI a questi suoi connazionali!
We don't need to go abroad to find a good metal band!
@SmokeTheMist Classical always sounded good...
@ChimChimandChimaira why cant they both be good???
well actually the sickest Italian ever is Ezio Auditore :P
if i had money to afford em :P i definitly would, n id also buy a dictionary so i could spell
It's melanin, not melamine. Melamine is a chemical compound and is formed by cyanamide when it is converted into dycandiamide and heated above its melting temperature.
But he is talking about Rockband isn`t it? that`s a videogame.
@deadrider24 im a little bit scene and i listen to this shit :)
