Honestly with what was hyped up in the after-credits scene. I can't wait to see how the 3rd movie handles presenting "those sonic games in that era" while also having its focus on being a kids movie. It might be bad or might be pretty good but either way I am excited!!
Although that is very much my preferred era of sonic cause that's the one I got into the franchise to the franchise with i gotta say i am concerned that it is way too soon to adapt that material, if at all given the direction that the films have taken the license, but I'm very excited for it.
I honestly really like the Sonic characters/humans ratio this movie had. I do like the human characters in the Sonic Movies, Tom and Maddie especially. So I honestly don't mind that they had a big presence in Sonic movie 2. Maddie's actress, Tika Sumpter, practically begged for more scenes (ok, calling it 'begging' puts it in bad light, but my point is she wanted more scenes), and they did it, and I loved the extra scenes. I won't argue that the Sonic character scenes are the best, but the humans are great too.
@@HeinerGunnar You didn't need to reply to me specifically though for a statement like that. It felt like you were telling me I was wrong for thinking the humans are great.
If Jim Carrey retires I hope Eggman retires with him, or that they introduce some kinda robot Eggman maybe like the comics. But honestly there are plenty of other Sonic villains to choose from. I think Jim Carrey _is_ Eggman at this point, he just fits the role too well
The director announced that if Carrey doesn't return, they won't recast him. I'd love to see some of the other Sonic villains in some movies, and maybe Carrey can come back for a later film? That would be sick
No saying a lot considering how low that bar is. I mean the movie is a great fun, just not must watch material. I am one of those people who think adapting a game to something you watch can only work as a TV show. Or at least a TV show is the best way to adapt a video game. Sonic doesn't have that much deep lore for a TV show, so that's fine. But castlevania and Arcane (so far), are fantastic because they are TV shows
@@gracekim25 it's a bit of a balls because I'm dying to tweet about how people in my cinema screening reacted to it but unfortunately that would include the spoilery scenes. I think if you know sonic at all you can guess what happens tho
Personally, I kinda like the fact that they mix the Sonic plot with human characters, but I bet there's better ways to do so than what they've done in these 2 movies.
*Work It!* To be honest, this was still much better then the 1st movie and seeing Sonic and Tails Interact we're truly the best scenes, especially Knuckles being a total badass and not a complete braindead doofus from the modern games. Unfortunately this Is also gonna be the last and final role for Jim Carrey's performance her knowing that he announced that he's retiring for alittle while so enjoy It while ya can! Other than some weird jump cuts that pop too far ahead, the movie was solid and surprisingly more heartfelt than the first. I only partially agree on the human character thing, though. The humans closest to Sonic need to be there to help support his development, but those other two you described? Yeah, I have no idea why the film put so much focus there. It seemed like it was meant to be a big goof or spoof, but even then, it totally dragged. I feel like there must have been some contractual obligations at work there. I wonder if some of those jump cuts were so jarring because scenes were trimmed down just to fit that whole dull sequence in.
Without making spoilers, while i didn't like either when the human characters get whe spotlight, at the same time they've introduced something that will be very relevant on the third movie. I wouldn't mind too much if those scenes didnt overstayed more than they should
Why does every kids movie have to have fart jokes. They already had one in the first movie so we should have been spared for this one. Lol still looking forward to seeing this though, great review!
I agree with your review 150%! I didn't mind the human characters, but I certainly didn't look forward to the scenes with them. If Sonic 3 puts the Sonic characters in more often, I feel the movie will benefit from it greatly.
MY REVENGE WILL BE SWIFT AND ANNOYING
So excited to see this next week :] I'm glad this movie seems good
Thanks for the vid

I honestly don't have much of a problem with the "real people" in the movie but Holy Crap that wedding sequence went on for days.
Yup. Someone is hellbent on trying to put that sister-in-law character over. Give it up! It ain't happenin'!

Without fail, in any movie that focuses on a non-human character/story/IP, the human characters are the worst part. This is no exception
@@HeinerGunnar And you're saying this to me... why? You trying to get me to dislike the humans or something?

Oh, so very.

"Dad"
Didn’t really have a problem with the human characters
Definitely had a pretty solid time with this one .
I am excited to see how they handle the plots from the adventure games. I also wish sega would double down on this iteration on sonic
The thing about Jim Carrey retiring, I heard that was actually an April Fool's prank, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.
Mmm yeah I can’t decide if it’s true or not but my best guess is there’s some truth in that
That poster by itself gives it a LOT of good will, the balls on these mans using a pixel to pixel poster for Sonic 2, just damn.

Just got out of the theatre. Really enjoyed it.
This is easily one of the best movies I've ever seen, and I'm already hyped as hell for the third one.

Aye! That’s a song lyric😜 it’s such a fun movie dawg!
Waiting for Sonic 3 in a post Mario Movie world.
Oh, uh, eggs
Should of called the video 2 fast 2 furrious
Game Apologist is a Skittles shill.

I didn't mind the human characters personally. But this IS a Sonic movie first and foremost, and it feels like they wanted to do the games justice.

When have human characters ever been enjoyable in any Sonic media?
@@tanimation7289 Eggman is human though
@@EvelynL.1112 Yes but outside of him?No reply if it wasn’t for the fact he is human the franchise by now would be entirely about funny animals.
So you basically want a cartoon sonic...... which there are many so go watch those no humans....... robotnik though sorry to get you more mad

Preety much exactly how I felt about the movie as well.
I saw it yesterday (it premiered yesterday in Hungary) and I LOVE it! It's a lot better than the first movie. Suck it, critics!
