    Just a quick pointer, the way you had the slip hook facing it will sometimes release itself. You want the opening of the hook facing away from the direction of travel. I welded two grab hooks to the back of my box scraper and use it as a skidding plate, my forest is real dense and a lot of times I use my scraper like a bulldozer to push my way in reverse to the logs I have to pull out. I just got myself a camera so I will be filming some of this in the coming months.

      I’m doing pretty much the same thing with my back blade. I have a couple hooks on that and it works great.

    That’s cool, I have a set of old pallet forks that I may try and convert to a skidder, and I think I can make that design work well since it’s the old pin system just need to weld up a top link mount

      That should work. Did you watch the other video of nothing but skidding? Definitely make sure you make the hooks just high enough to grab the logs and to be about straight back from the top link. Too high and you risk flipping the tractor, but you want them high enough so they don’t catch and roots or stumps. I’m super impressed with how well this one works.

      Jared's Shop no I didn’t check it out, but I’ll be sure to do that, already plan on making a better front weight mount on the tractor, it’s an old 2wd ford 4610, I figure enough weight up front and leave the brakes unlocked in case I need them to steer and I’ll be alright. I’d put it on my 4wd new holland but I’d like to be able to use the loader to stage stuff.

      I kept my bucket on my 4wd Kubota but had to pick up extra weight for some of these.

      Jared's Shop I have to make a front weight for my ford tractor anyways cause it gets a little hoppy when you get goin with the bush hog on the back so I’ll probably make up a bracket for some sort of concrete weight or a box to put rocks in or something

      How do you plan on taking it on and off? Might I suggest making something that will hold lifting weights? You can pick up weights pretty reasonably on the marketplace. That way you can take it off if you need to.

    I like that.. but the opening of your hook is facing toward the tractor.. the opening should be facing back so you don't have the chance the chain slipping out.. otherwise nice setup

    • @JaredsShop
      @JaredsShop  Рік тому

      I’m not sure what you’re meaning. All of the hooks are placed so the opening is vertical so the weight of the chain keeps it engaged. Am I misunderstanding you?

      @@JaredsShop yeah if you watch your video when you pull that tree look down at the hook. Where the chain is running through at the end of the hook where the opening is. If you flip the hook where the point and opening is away from the tractor less chance of chain slipping off

    I watched the other video about your logging hitch, you stated you might add a winch, have you done that?

    • @JaredsShop
      @JaredsShop  3 роки тому

      Not yet. It is still on the todo list. I’m very happy with how it works otherwise but it’d be nice to pull logs up to it. I need to add a”blade” to the bottom to hold itself in place while winching.

    He must to lift higher so as not to lower the chain it breaks in stones.

      @@JaredsShop Thanks, Can you tell me the type of metal you made it from and the dimensions. I also have a L3560 so it should work great for me also. I am good at making things so I should be able to build it with the above info. Thanks again
