Seeing them play this at the in-store at OneUp record store in Aberdeen was phenomenal, one of the best Wednesday or Thursday afternoons ever. Scotland sure was punching above its weight in the years '95-'04 for interesting, complex and beautiful rock music - Mogwai, Arab Strap, Macrocosmica, Hefner, Ganger (who featured Craig B) and Aereogramme. Great time to be creating and consuming music in our wee country.
"...no other band could copy this!" A bold statement as well as an unwarranted insult to thousands of musicians. To me, this sounds pretty generic and uninteresting. Nothing special here at all.
One would hope so. I just heard of this band about twenty minutes ago and have listened to this album through to this track. Contrary to what cultists of the band might believe, there is nothing particularly special about this band or their music. To me, the music sounds pretty generic. I see and understand that there are people for whom the music has a significant place in their lives...But there's millions of people who relate to the manufactured fluff known as K-pop and will view it approvingly through the lens of nostalgia at some point in their futures.
@@jankafka7330 just because you don’t like it or appreciate it, doesn’t mean it’s not significant or excellent or special. This band stood out from a lot of others..with their experimental music, their depth of existential and spiritual questioning, kick ass live shows..like, really..kick you in the head, live shows..delicate electronics, passionate, heartfelt singing and playing of their instruments..some bozo that comes in just 4 months ago, doesn’t get to dictate the significance of this band. I just told someone this morning that this is one of only 3 bands i would ditch everything for and fly overseas to see perform if they announced a reunion. This is a highly respected band for music people in the know.
