Make it a tablet that can attach joycons, batteries, ram , fans and make it actually part of the deck. Then you can sell low barrier to entry models and have the community create their own design.
43:19 funny thing is, linux is already capable or running most of the anti-cheat software out there, is up to the developers to enable it. Valve already laid out the ground work for them to make it easy so let's bug the devs to get on board
I think it’s a good thing that value aren’t in a hurry to push out the steam deck 2. The OLED refresh model has made pc gaming on the go a viable option without subconsciously thinking about battery life or scrambling to find the nearest plug 🔌
I would like to see a few different skus, maybe a larger one for home(maybe tablet sized screen), released alongside a much smaller one for portability. This, alongside all of your wonderful ideas
Hey guys nice content. I think you are having some issue with sound. It feels like the sound is coupled. I hope this can be fixed for future videos! Keep it up!
The one thing that's really made me hold off on a Deck is the 800p display - really, really need a 1080p display on the Deck 2 for me to seriously consider it.
For me, as long as it has an OLED display, then it's fine. To the best of my knowledge, it is the only mainstream handheld with an OLED display... This mignt sound mad but ill choose 800p OLED over 4k LCD
Honestly, it’s really not that bad. The 200p difference doesn’t change as much as the OLED screen does. The screen isn’t really big enough for the difference to be big enough for me
I grabbed the skull & co. Grip for steam deck based on your suggestion. It’s probably my favorite accessory. Being able to stand the steam deck straight up is such a plus
OLED, 1080P (OR FHD+), 120HZ (Maybe 90 is ok), it needs to be the best performing thing when it comes out but still have the same battery life. I agree with the holophec joysticks. And a REALLY cool thing would be if they made a dock that had an EGPU so you can have extremely good performance while docked and even play it with better performance while docked, except without the need to even have an extra screen. 🤷🏽♂️
Valve wont upgrade until they can get better battery life and a huge jump in performance. 2026 is the soonest we will see a deck 2 imo. by then AMD should have Z1 extreme levels of performance with Vangogh type power draw APUs and hopefully better battery tech like stacked lithium gets used.
Nice run down the anti cheat is something ive thought about. You mentioned the windows handhelds what if valve introduced native dual boot for the new version of windows handheld so you can swap experiences on the fly almost like desktop vs BPM add another option for windows.
I personally think that the Steam Deck needs to keep up with the new competitors in spec, and also figure out a way to be more inclusive for all games. The anti-cheat software issues are a major problem in my opinion, and kills oppertunity for the large franchises (such as COD) to be played on it. I love the effort they've gone to with Linux, but if Windows ever launches a streamlined handheld version, they should at least allow dual booting. Also a 2280 drive as you mentioned would be great. Enjoyed the pod. Hope you make it out alive for next week :)
People most know this a pc not android phone the sd2 should be in 2027 it's orgianl device not something without updates and care like lenovo go and allyx now there's ally-Oled coming So 5 device's in less in one year and westernAss fooled easier by being GBa style pc 🖥
12:20 there ya go!! Thats what you came for
Thanks dude, I've chaptered it now :)

For me:
1080p screen Oled screen. Slightly bigger wouldn’t hurt
Better processor.
Hall effect sticks
Bigger battery.
A bit more ram? perhaps 16GB might start to see issues a few years into Steamdecks2 life

Yeah totally agree

Everyone pretty much has an oled display in their pockets. So I'm sure they know what an oled looks like 😂

that's a great idea to get around the problem!
Valve needs to sell more that's the only way. At let's say 10 million units sold yes cod and fortnite will come to steam.
My steamdeck 2 wishlist:
1. Able to download while in sleep mode
2. Uhh thats about it

hahahaha (blink blink)
@@128kbpodcast Is that why AJ needs his buster sword? To break out?
We need Ryzen strix halo as steamdeck
People need to relax I understand that is a portable pc but usually upgrades for console are like a 5 year thing I want a real upgrade not a tiny jump
