I saw him live at the West Palm Beach auditorium, and I was in the front row. After he left, I found one of his sequins on the floor. Saved it for may years. Good conversation piece. 😊
Only if he believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him into his heart, will Liberace have eternal life and peace with Jesus Christ. If not, he is in hell for eternity, separated from God.
Who wrote this movie ?? I think it’s a good portrayal of Lee .. He was kind and gentle..he gave money away to his friends and family .. He was a gentle soul.. It doesn’t mention if he had a Priest come to his home to visit him.. I see he had a beautiful chapel in his home ..
This is not the Liberace movie you say it is - it's Victor Garber here, not Andrew Robinson. There were two films made in 1988. This one is called LIBERACE: BEHIND THE MUSIC.
People can say whot thay like a about Libreans he was famous amazing successful. So welty it was unbelievable one of the most popular people in showbiz Don't like thay make the impression the relationship between these two how Liberace is giving expensive gift to nothing more than a Golddiger
I really resent that the producers of this short film made Liberace creepy, like he is looming, predatory....that is nonsense. He was looking to meet a younger guy for a relationship, support and offer his support, he wasn't being like a predator or serial killer. This was clearly after his death by a year when everyone wanted to be against gay people and the film reflects the homophobia of the masses or this wouldn't have gone over well during broadcast.
Liberace purposely sought very young men, barely legal for two reasons: 1) For their looks, and 2) So he could control them. Scott Thorson and Cary James both were more or less isolated from the outside world when with Liberace and were not treated as equals. The control went so far as having Thorson undergo plastic surgery at the age of 20 to resemble Liberace. Viewing Liberace as something of a predator is not a gay thing. It's because he was one. There are a number of stories and accounts of his engaging in what would now be considered numerous sexual assaults grabbing and groping young men in bars, stores, dinner and trying to pickup teenagers in the parking lots of grocery stores. You should read the seminal biography on Liberace, "Liberace: An American Boy" by Dr. Darden Pyron who is gay himself.
I find actually that He is very sweet him. They portrayed scott as someone who just want his money and uses his good nature to live a life of pleisure with grugs and luxury. He even try to punch lee in an arguee about his addiction. They made him look as The victim of the relationship
There are two Liberace TV movies from 1988. The good one stars Andrew Robinson, the fantastic actor of Dirty Harry and Star Trek fame. And this one is not the good one. Victor Garber is a great actor in his own right. He is great in many films and TV shows. But I don't think he was cut out for this particular role. They just look so different. And the script and casting was terrible for this version.
I thought Victor Garber was brilliant (as he usually is!). He brought a humanity and pathos to the Liberace character that wasn't built into the script. He had Liberace's affectations down pat without becoming a caricature. His Wisconsin dialect was great. I also loved Garber in the Judy Garland biopic "Me and My Shadows" as Sid Luft. The makeup in the Liberace film made him look enough like Liberace to not distract from the performance; one's imagination fills in any remaining blanks. I think Garber's own closeted homosexuality brought an added dimension to his portrayal. (He was closeted for many years) When I saw this the first time, years ago, I was so impressed with Garber's performance though I didn't care for the script nor direction. This should have been so much better, especially with the caliber of talent they had for the major and minor principal roles. By the way, Garber's singing voice is beautiful and he kicked a** in Godspell!
@@ellejay2021 I agree. I really felt Victor Garber showed us what the 'real' Liberace might have been behind the smiles for the camera. I didn't care that he didn't look like him, he captured a different side of him
Are you kidding me? lee was gay and flaunting was his style! He wanted people to think he was "normal" but he was gay and unfortunately at that time being gay was Not the thing! I am happy for the gay community today, but Liberace was gay and he did everything to try to keep it a secret just ashame however he went for the 16 year old Scott! NOT Good!!! Means Liberace was a pedophile! So sad !
Liberace lied.. to save his career and his family name.. he had relations with Rock Hudson.. I wonder if he had relations with the last young man portrayed in this movie.. I hope he had Last Rites before he died.. I feel sorry for him.. Liberace was such a talented man.. Everyone loved him.. He died way too soon.. RIP Lee..

Outside of BEHIND THE CANDELABRA, which was the greatest of them all, this was the best television movie. Much better than the ABC one.
MAY YOU REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.. Liberace
Only if he believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him into his heart, will Liberace have eternal life and peace with Jesus Christ. If not, he is in hell for eternity, separated from God.
The actor playing Scott looks like a really young Val Kilmer

The real Scott Thorson was several inches taller than Liberace.
Why don't you play the whole movie it's a great movie I seen it before I love to see the whole thing again
They casted a young looking Liberace
But he did a good job, didn't he?
👏🤩😍🙏Liberace🥰Im a New fan😍🕊🌈R.I.P. ❤️🙏
I happened to catch this movie on tv when I was 7. I remember only bits and pieces but was disturbed by it. The idea of dying was new to me.

@Upson Pratt he did. In the ABC Liberace tv film. It is better than this one.

Bryon Stephens So? Adults do adult things sometimes.

Liberace.
Beautiful film of a beautiful man
Can you get a DVD of this movie? I recorded it off the TV onto Betamax many years ago but lost it when the machine went.
He was sick man .
Pipe down closet case
I agree with Clay Chandler….He was not all that happy.. before his death, he said that he wished he would have had children.. it is sad..
Takes one to know one ......
First time I've seen this. I enjoyed it, and think they could have done more with it, made it longer or something.
Hurry hurry lol wrong version
This was the pocket version of the movie.
No, this is part of a completely different movie, also made in 1988.
Władziu kochał tylko jedną osobę: swoją polską matkę. ❤
He may have loved several other persons as well...🙂

Liberace never touched a piano in his house.
Only the 'Skin Flute'.
How do you know ..... were you there?
I don't know where everyone gets the whole "gay" thing. He stated over and ver throughout his life that he was not gay.
Some older people just want to have younger people for just simple company.
But unfortunately we live in a world that gossip rules.
