    This board was done 2 years ago. I took it apart this past winter so I can store it.

    I'm very excited to see this beast in action! I heard you mention that you used double sided tape (one of my best friends) with mounting your custom battery pack. Check out "Powergrip Pedal Mounting Tape". I use it to mount my gopro to things but you could use it temporarily adhere anything (nonporous). Great for modular or constantly changing builds.

    Cool video! Very detailed. I am looking to get one myself. Did you see the bajaboard? Cost is way to much but a great concept. I am thinking to get a trampa board with metal wheels. I like the idea of the suspension type trucks for mountainboard. I would like to use belts and somehow get all 4 wheels to work using 2 motors.

    Hello @ 4:14 of the video you are looking at the motors on your skateboard, then you mention the orange motor, the orange motor is 63mm diameter and how you can buy them for $20 or $30 on ebay. I too have not been able to find that size motor for those prices. I'm sure even on HobbyKing you can get a 63mm diameter motor for $50, as your SK3 is $80. Though I dont really look at diameter, more wattage rating or weight to get an idea of the power, but diameter is good for torque.
    Do you have a link to your $10 motors that are 63mm diameter?
    I see in one of your comments you dont remember where you bought it.
    No worries!

    Excellent video man, brilliant build. Building one myself at the moment but before I buy the Turnigy SK3 192KV motors, I was wondering bout the orange ones you mentioned in the video? I can't seem to find them anywhere on ebay or anywhere else on the web for that matter, do you happen to know where I could buy some?
    Thanks

  • @Zirdo10

    Also, I was wondering what the pulleys on the wheels are made of, plastic perhaps? I can only find steel and aluminium ones of that size in HTD5mm?

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  9 років тому

      I have in metal for the chains and aluminium/composite for the belts. You will have to do an in depth research to find them if you want a specific size or make them yourself on CNC.
      The red motors where bought from EBAY - 200kv 35mm OD motors.

    thanks for your time

    There is this one NTM motor rated at a whipping 5500W but its not in stock :( its dirt cheap too.
    Oh well I got another motor.
    What kv's should I be looking at? say 150kv to 250kv, because anything higher requires more gearing. Man I'd love to find a high watt motor in the 100, 200, 300kv range.

    Hey vitalie how much do you want for those two belt pulley systems. I'm starting a board project like this and I'm getting the same motors and trying to find those esc's. But right now I need a system like your because it's wayyyyy to expensive to build or have somebody specially build it for me. If you out of this system can you tell me the sight you got this off of. Thanks.

    This info wasn't in the video--do you know:
    >63mm Orange motors from eBay(link or make/model)?
    >belt sprockets (size, website)?
    >belts (size, website)?
    >battery(make/model)?
    >charger(make/model)?
    >RC throttle/trigger controller(make/model)?
    THANKS!!! I'm not being lazy, I REALLY tried to find that stuff, but there is just not enough info in the video to go on.

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  9 років тому

      I mentioned in the video the exact model for the motors, electronics and all about the battery that is needed to know in order to complete the built. You don't need these other info that your are asking for....if you can figure out these things on your own than you won't be able to built this type of board.

Right now I have a board that is a single 800w at 36v LiFePo. I want to split that power to 2 rear motors mounted on an MBS truck like yours. Thanks

    I listened very carefully to the video and tried to make a parts list, but I couldnt get enough info to find them. For instance I couldn't find the the orange 63mm motors on eBay, or the belts and sprockets.
    Could you make a list of the 7 parts below (make, model, size, source, links) so I can find them online? I promise I will not bug you anymore if you could just specify these parts:
    >Orange motors?
    >belt sprockets?
    >belts?
    >battery?
    >charger?
    >RC throttle/trigger controller?
    >motor mount?

      search 63mm out runners on ebay...there are dozens of sellers. You can also search on hobbyking,com
      >belt sprockets? - SPD/SI website
      >battery? - I made the battery myselft from 18650 cells
      >charger? - ICharger 3010B
      >RC throttle/trigger controller? - Any RC controller will work
      >motor mount? - Made them myself.

      Mj Liston it does not matter the size of the belts etc....you have to design your motors arm and calculate the length so it matches the size of the belts, pulleys etc. It has to be calculated and perfectly correct.

    pretty soon with 3d printers around... we will be able to fabricate the drive gears and motor mounts in house for a myriad of applications. Big corporations are shitting in their pants to this thought. Planned obsolescence is inevitable. NICE build dude. imagine being able to share printable goods with each other. The world would create all kinds of shit we cant even fathom. Too bad this future is withheld to humanity for profits of a few. ONE DAY

    Hello, I like very ! much your videos, I wonder if you can startup from 0 mhp, or you have to give it a little push before starting or it will start cogging, and if so, do you think, that this sensored motor will solve this issue ? Although it would be very nice if you could post the model of this second motor, and appropriate ESC model you think is best.

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  8 років тому +1

      +Asmodath Thank you, please share, like and subscribe. Yes, I can start on the flats from dead stop. I recommend Vesc esc with turnigy 6374 - 192kv.

    • @Asmodath
      @Asmodath 8 років тому

      +Portable Electric Vehicle Hi, thank you for response, I already subscribed, and love your content. But in my opinion 6374-149kv , would be a better choice, that's, why I mentioned this second motor you showed us, because I saw a guy starting from 0mph with only one of these. And this is the one I will order, also considering Turnigy Trackstar 1/5th Scale 200A, but I am not sure it can take 2x 6s 12Ah in series to properly power up this beast. For sure 50A constant Vesc ESC wouldn't take required current if you will have to stop and start a lot, they are greate in terms of customisation, but they don't stel my confidence as I look on these schematics, even in terms of sensing current with resistors, that gona heat up, while you can use way more cheaper and reliable IC's for this (that you solder near the FET's D S). Don't think also, that this developer has a lot of expirience in that matter, but what do I know, I didn't finish my EE degree yet.

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  8 років тому +1

      The trackstar only can support 8S. 149 kv motor will have more torque but less speed...149 rotation per volt versus 192. Vesc will work great. The higher the voltage the less amps you will draw from the battery pack. Vesc can go up to 200 amps for several seconds.

    • @Asmodath
      @Asmodath 8 років тому

      +Portable Electric Vehicle Yes, I checked, you are right, there is really no other option at this time, but to assemble your own VESC. It is supperior, for applications, if someone wants to make some customized control. I am planning to allow each well to be separately controlled, so you coud turn without balancing, and also use accelerometers from phone and on board one that i will mount to maybe make the board more stable while driving very fast or in rough terrain, ice ABS, like you have in sport car. Although I never had a real mountainboard, so not sure if it will be worth trying, or what I am saying has any sense, and it will not have much effect. I seen your "longboard crash" video and wondered if popper steering (rather weel's control) could prevent that, and help to keep balance.

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  8 років тому
