    Taken as a whole, I think your layout is super. You are no doubt aware of the UA-cam posts by sewingman 1. He has a great collection of repainted and neverwazza 3-rail stock + some in original condition. Then again, I have followed the posts of Dublorunner since at least the 1990's, mostly on his own web sight. (He has at least one post on UA-cam - maybe more?). I am nearly 78. Who would have believed, in the early years of the 21st century I would still be running my model (toy?) trains. There's a War of the Worlds reference there! Kindesr regards Christopher.

    That Hall looks great after your efforts! Don't think I will get one soon, as I have got about 35 locomotives, but only 17 coaches! One of your Hall loco bodies looks as though it has that slightly green waxy look, which appeared roughly late seventies to early eighties. I wish I had thought of combining 2 and 3 rail on a layout. It was because there was only one radius of turnout/points on the 3 rail that I changed to 2 rail about 20 years ago. Now I run locos from 1956 to 2008 vintage on modern Hornby track, with the aid of a bit of fettling of the flanges and frogs! Kindest regards Christopher, from currently sunny West Sussex.

    Good morning Oscar, it's Martin from Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Hope you are well, I've just watched your excellent video with your Hall class body swap. That was an excellent job you did on changing the bodies over, well done Oscar. That was very kind of the gentleman to donate those items to you. As I always say, it's a great pleasure to watch your videos on a Sunday. Well it's that time again for my cup of tea and a toasted tea cake. A big thank you again for all your effort and time that you put into your railway and videos Oscar. And I shall be watching again your wonderful video. Keep safe Oscar and have a good week ahead. See you next Sunday. 👍🚂

    I'm glad the box of goodies is going to be useful. I had a choice, either the skip or donate it! The 'good' track was until 9 months ago set up as a layout and had been stored inside the house for 25 years unused with 'plans' to use it in the future. The future is so unpredictable so that plan never happened and a house move forced the slimming down of plans. The rusty track included track obtained off e-bay as part of those plans but was stored in the garage. Some of the items were originally purchased off e-bay with others being my original 'train set' from around 1960 to around 1970. The Kneller Hall was part of a job lot many years ago from e-bay. Keep up the great videos.

      Hi, Gamer Druid, thanks again for the very generous donation, it's very much appreciated, excellent bits and pieces which are going to be very useful and the track is terrific with an amazing number of very usable fish plates on some of that rusty track which will come in very handy.
      Hope all goes well with the house move.
      Take care.

    Good video this morning Oscar, always good when you can swap a poor body for a good one, for me personally I dint do many body swaps as it would just make me gather bodies that are likely to not be doing anything, for me if I have a body that isn’t in great condition I will fix it up as best I can, if the paint job isn’t great I would probably either do a full repaint or try to touch up the areas that are not in good condition.

    Look Oscar, I have found the comments down under the previews?
    Great video running session at the start...
    What a great donation... I'm sure that we will see a lot of that get 'resurrected' onto the layout in the future? little ever stays in the scrap box for long when you have old Tri-ang? It is great that they just "updated" so many items without actually changing some of the parts.. It make repair work much simpler? The R 42 controller was a very essential part of sets in the past? Before the Clippers and transistor controllers came along, one would often see a number of them lined up at the front of a layout? We actually still use some of them.. The refurbished "Kneller Hall" looks good? Great to see a nice nameplate on the replacement body? Your kind donor sounds a bit like me? With items from his original set as well as plans for the future... Sadly for many of us the plans take a long tome to become possible, while we keep going in a smaller fashion?

    • @oscarpaisley
      @oscarpaisley  Місяць тому

      Hi Robin, great to hear you got access to the comments again, it was a very generous donation to the channel with some really excellent bits and pieces. It's been very fiddly removing the fish plates of the rusty rails but I think they will be very useful.. I think half the fun with the railways is that coming up the plans of what we want to do, very often we don't get around to doing them. But there's a great deal of fun thinking things through just like looking through the old catalogues, which can be a very absorbing pass time, But never thought I'd have two and three Rail running together! anticipated a series 3 railway only after the system 6 was put away.
      All the best.

    There's one type of Great Western engine I don't see on your railway: the GWR Manor Class. Show me a GWR Manor hard at work, and I'll show you how much I truly love her. Looks like Kneller Hall and the Castle engine were having fun, racing against each other. What's not to love about God's Wonderful Railway?

    Hello Oscar - @ 3:29 - yep I have the very same Loco as yours - Loco No. 5934 but mine seems to be a bit darker green than yours & has orange stripes over the Boiler body!!! Yep that's a good idea to swap the body's over - that spare body that you got given - is the same condition as mine!!! @ 10:22 I have a similar Carriage but my Carriage no. is M24001!!! Oh that is the same number as the 2nd carriage that you pulled out!!! Also @ 10:41 - I have the same Loco by the looks of it - on your looks like the De-cals are missing - On Mine the Loco No. is 47458 & it is a British Railways with a Red Lion holding a White Wheel surrounded with a White & Red Border - Hope that helps in some way!!! Oh I've just notice - the cog on mine is between the 2 front wheels on mine but is between the 2 middle wheels on yours, & the Motor you can see in your cab but not in mine!!! I hope that I haven't said to much here Oscar!!! 😉😊🚂🚂🚂
