Came for David Dastmalchian. Stayed for the song. This is my favorite band now.
David has been sober for 21 years, this may have resonated with him so much
exactly my thoughts
I hope this album comes back to spotify. Used to listen to this song all the time >:V
What happened? It’s why I’m here.
@@therewasascene They pulled their recent music from spotify along with other artists in protest against low royalties
@sarahxhadlandand Apple Music
@@therewasascene they pulled it for COVID misinformation when podcasters were saying to take horse medicine, along with Neil Young pulling his music
@@f1sk8mm if you live in upsidedownworld, that's true.
Is this the real Failure ? The guys from the fantastic planet??
Thats incredible
Yes, it is very much the real Failure.
@Marcos XVI I love how experimental they are, they never stick to one formula so everything that they do is a new experience and you get so many more aspects of the song with every listen.
@Choronzon 33 XVI This song is from the follow up album, "In the Future Your Body Will Be the Furthest Thing from Your Mind" and they are on tour in support of it. I caught them in my hometown and they are every bit as awesome in concert. Catch them if you can.
yes
@@FailureBand love it!
The song never reaches full-on crashing rock and roll, but stays in the tension. I'm digging the vibe. Failure can do anything.
Very well put. I'm positive that there will be other songs that sound more like them on the upcoming EPs & the LP too.
I second very good point !
I'm a simple man, I see Failure, I click.
Perfect actor for a Failure video.
David Dastmalchian ! 😍
Somehow I have been getting into Failure and David Dastmalchian all at the same time and I just now discovered they made a video together. I've heard David's story about addiction and it's beautiful to see this collaboration. This feels oddly healing. I'm rooting for these underdogs, both Failure and Dastmalchian.
where you here the davids story?
This guy is a phenomenal actor, I remember him from Batman, he was just too good
Just came from watching The suicide squad and came here to say knowing that this man was polka dot man is out of my mind
Getting clean is like putting on a Space suit and walking away from the comfort of well comfort. No fear in the numb, also no progress, endless circles, madness but it becomes you inside and out. He picks up the needle, then moves to vials which I perceive as Methadone to need that crutch, but at the end he decides to take that scary leap into outerspace which seems so dark, scary, and hurtful, which it is, but it's life and space suit isn't going to protect him because it's not really space but just outside. Outside his room, outside the condensed opiate fueled mental world. When your on opiates it covers you in an invisible shield like a space suit void of feelings. Everyone has their root reasons for using and everyone has an excuse to keep using but man the gravity is soo crazy trying to climb out from the hole your in and I could go on forever but this video and song are deeper than people think and if your not an addict it probably seems simple or stupid.
Thank you for your post. I was wondering about the meaning and your explanation is so personal and profound. I wish you well in your recovery. Thanking God I never slipped into the opiod trap...seems so seductive and scary.
Happy to say am not an addict, am not even a user. But the metaphor comes across hard and loud. Glad to hear that it sounds like you are free from this too, now. I definitely feel for everyone with struggle
HOLY CRAP!! Directed by Ken Andrews? Is there anything you CAN'T DO Ken?!
Love that this video feels extremely personal considering the bands past problems with addiction. Excellent work guys!
Wow I was subbed to you for a while
Ken wanted to be a video editor/producer before he went full time with Failure
Just getting over the hump myself. Just been listening to these guys especially "Crashing Down"
be a human being. that's one thing.
Casting David Dastmalchian was also fitting
David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man (Abner Krill) 🔴🔵🟠🟡🟢🟣😍🥵❤
I've always wanted failure to succeed
You articumulated what I wanted to, so thanks for that 👍
I love your music guys, David Datsmalchian is always a Plus
Wow. Just watched David Dastmalchian in Ant Man the other night. And got my Pledge Music update today. Awesome.
So this is this polka dot man's past
Polka dot man!
Never noticed the gothy composition and undertones of this song. You could definitely tune this 80’s!!!!
The use of guitar texture and effects is genius!
Theyre geniuses
I have been a Failure fan since the 90's. I am also in recovery. This is one powerful video. Great job guys.
Trust you are not alone. Fantastic Planet hit close to home.
The absolute best band that no one has ever heard about.
Ahhh me too Sir. Ha, Recovery life 💓
hope your recovery is still going well :)
What I thought was freedom was a trap, letting God take the wheel is Mt personal freedom. Yeah I discovered "Stuck on you" as a young professional background in the day, these guys still sound awesome, I hadn't heard them in like 30 years, definitely in my play list!
He found a fantastic planet
I still get off spotify to find this song every now and then
YOU'RE FREE NOW, YOU DON'T NEED THIS
It's a grower and I really dig it now. Deceptively complex.
how the hell did i not know about this sooner?? it's got everything. briefcases, heroin, space travel. goddamn i hope ken goes down in history like duke ellington or beethoven
I can see how NIN was influenced by them for sure. Awesome.
This song is not available anymore in spotify!:(
about a month ago i saw this guy in the new blade runner, and was trying to remember where i'd seen him before. turns out it was dark knight. now here he is again. this man is haunting me.
Sean Arey , any sheeps in your dreams recently?
He's everywhere nowadays XD
He got his neck snapped in half in Bladerunner, sick sick scene
@@dragondog7886I know this comment is 4 years ago but it’s funny because he has 6 and maybe more movies coming out this year lmao
this might be the best sobriety song ever made, I always come back here when I’m about to fuck it up . Thanks Ken
Just saw him in Ant man and the wasp. He did a great job in it.
Richard Roberson babayaga
Hey, polka dot man is in this video
Pretty great; definitely has an Autolux vibe going on -- and that's just fine.
Racin' all around without a head to roll
There's nothing keeping you from just floating away
Everything you thought you knew that was true
Has lost its connection and broken loose
A wound that has opened that can never heal
But you're floating on a channel that cancels the feel
Of being untethered in an open void
With nothing to grab you're just a broken toy
But you're free now
You don't need this
You won't freak out
You can't feel this
When sleepin' is a dream that you want to be given
But a waking sort of death is what you're actually livin'
You're caught inside a space with no way to leave
You're trapped inside a room with no air to breathe
I'll run a week, I'll run a full hundred miles
You cannot leave, you cannot demote yourself
Your words flaring out
Your words flaring out
But you're free now
You don't need this
You won't freak out
You can't feel this
'Cause you're free now
You don't need this
You won't freak out
You can't feel this
You did it right, you tried to forget it all
You did it right when you said it was all your fault
Don't change your mind, it's already over
Can't change your mind when it's already gone
But you're free now
You don't need this
You won't freak out
You can't feel this
'Cause you're free now
You don't need this
You won't freak out
You can't feel this
Wishing this was on spotify... love that bass
One more lesson from the masters
This has a very kraut-rock vibe to it. 👍👍
Isn’t this actor from Dark Knight? The dude that the joker uses as a pawn that Harvey ties up?
Yep, David Dastmalchian. "Fun" fact: he was a heroin addict for several years before becoming an actor. They picked the right guy!
He was also in Brendon Small’s newest video as well
He was also in Ant-Man.
Don't forget Blade Runner 2049 -- he was Luv's first victim.
One of those actors that adds so much to films. Great Actor, Great Song, Great Video! Ken on direction duties man... don't ya just get jealous of talent!?!
Now we know the origin of the polkadot man. ;)
Insanely underrated. Much love to Failure from Italy❤️🇮🇹
Dope song! Righteous imagination!! 👍👍
Never heard a bad Failure song, but every song they put out is better than the last 🤯
Absolutely gorgeous.
Well if this song is anything to go by your next album is going to be great.
This and another two EPS precede anew LP. We're getting 4 releases from Failure this year
Failureがあるから生きていける。
These guys actually made cool new music... No shit
When you find the right suit to touch oblivion.
Video is a fucking master piece
I just want to say thank you for everything this band is and always will be.
i didn't even know they released an album in 2018. but now i have found it and i am listening to it nonstop for 3 days now. its incredibly beautiful.
goosebumps during all the song
Good God, another album by Failure! Sweet! Great song!
Outstanding video. That actor kicks ass. Super concept, and execution. Love the accented minor third notes in the upper register toward the end. Super cool vibe.
Failure never fails at making amazing music, really digging the mellow but tense groove going on here
David D in the fuckin house, awesome... NEW Failure CD
Absolutely brilliant, took me a few times for it to hit, but it's incredible when it connects
Perfect, I totally loved it! This why Failure is my favorite band of all times goddammit!!! Awesome bass line!
Failure needs more recognition. This shit is so good
fantastic song and production. Tense and textured.
I am a sucker for this Song!!! Why cant i find it on Spotify anymore😭😭😭😭 it is gone it was there a few months ago
love this song
very massive attack/radiohead-esque
Failure rules! Please come to Europe to compensate from the last time that you could not play in Paris (Madrid is also a good option)
This is fucking brilliant! Love the video, so trippy and cool. That expression on David's face at the end of the video was incredible :O
Josh Haider-Smith David who?
David Dastmalchian, the actor in this video. He's been in Blade Runner 2049, he was also the crazy joker thug in The Dark Knight and he was in Ant-Man.
Babba Yagga!
Oh hell yes!
Just made my day.. Week... Year.. New album
. yessssssd
such a good modern "goth" song
I wish there were more alternative rock bands that like Failure. This is a very good video. Dark but also innovative.
Can't get enough of this.
This song gives me shivers up my spine! I absolutely love it!
Had no idea there was new music! I do now!
Holy shit, I just found some new music!

How am I just finding out about Failure this year ???
Such a masterful song. Failure never fails to impress
Please release more music videos, guys! Not only because it's a beautiful bloom of artistic expression, but look at those views!
And the money y'all are getting... it's a win-win!
Perfect.
Giddy for the new album 🤘🤘
I'm not one to believe in the concept of "perfection"...
But holy God does this make me re-evaluate that belief
Very cool! Looking forward to the rest of the tunes. Be sure to hit Lincoln, Nebraska again on your next tour! The Bourbon Theatre show was outstanding.
Splattercast Totally agree, I was there!!
Granted!
woah new Failure! Kick ass!
this is absolutely fantastic!
Awesome.
LOVE THIS. What a tune.
Brilliant, can hardly wait til this is out, just bought the last album on cd to have in my car, Love It! =)
YES!
Going through a kind of break up right now. This song keeps me going on...and surviving...
For some moments, I thought this is a kick-ass mix of Beck and NiN.
Amazing! Can't wait for all the rest!
Killer.
I love the song and love the lyrics but that video reminded me of what it felt like being in that pit in a hotel room all weekend/every weekend and that constant feeling of being worried b/c its gonna happen again and again
More plis more
Who knew that Failure would release a rap song?
They were ahead of their time in the 90s and still are now. What a jam
