- A rumor has popped up on the fate of the Transformers Earthspark series. It’s claimed that EARTHSPARK has been cancelled and will end after its second season and will be repalced with a BRAND NEW Transformers animated series that's currently in development. In the upcoming season of Transformers: Earthspark, the race intensifies against Starscream and his Decepticons to locate the shattered Emberstone fragments. They must put a stop to Starscream's EVIL PLAN! Robby meets a significant new character, while Mo uncovers a long-hidden secret in Witwicky that impacts the Terrans and their allies. Man, it's almost like locking a show behind an unpopular streaming service, giving it a piss poor release schedule, and half-assing its toyline is a great way to kill a show

Storyline didn’t feel half-assed to me. All the other stuff I agree with.
Yeah, compare that to Cyberverse, a relatively low-budget show which had a VERY consistent release schedule, free-to-watch on UA-cam of all places, and you have a show with much more longevity. Plus, a lot of Transformers shows in general are on UA-cam right now, thanks to Hasbro themselves.

Completely honest here: I didn't know there was going to be a season two. I also felt like there wasn't enough marketing or buzz around the first season because I thought that the first half of season one WAS season 1 until I saw a random post on Twitter about the rest of the episodes.
I agree that the marketing and access to Earthspark is very much to blame for people not knowing about it. I had to watch it by other means that we're not Paramount Plus because my household doesn't have that subscription.
At the same time I think the longest running Transformers series that wasn't G1 was Transformers Prime with 3 seasons, a TV movie, and technically Robots in Disguise being the sequel for that show. I'm more surprised Earthspark got a season 2.
I also feel like they pushed legacy characters too much in the background to give the spotlight to the Terrans. And while I like the terrans, I would rather have more episodes centered around Megatron. Such a missed opportunity. A miner/gladiator/revolutionist/warlord turns a new leaf, reunites with his old friend, and starts to fight for good? That is something I would watcha a show about. (could have had flashbacks to Megatron's past)
I wish Optimus and Megatron were the central characters of the plot.
@pepita2437 I was so freaking happy they went with a journey of redemption Megatron in Earthspark!!! And while I do wish there was another episode or two about Megs, the Terrans represent the future of the Cybertronian race and I loved how each one of them got to help the legacy characters heal from the traumas of war.

Yeah, it definitely had no marketing. The first time I heard about it about the initial trailer was videos about Nightshade.

Man, I feel so sad because of route season 2 took. I was hoping for a relaxing, comfort food slice of life show where Decepticons try to adjust to living on earth after the war. But nope. We have to end things off with Starscream backstabbing everyone again…

Soooo interesting thing about this! I literally talked to Nick Roche (who's the character designer of EarthSpark) earlier today on Twitter, and he mentioned that while he cannot confirm whether or not EarthSpark is getting a Season 3, he DID say that he is "very busy" lately and has been "talking quite a bit with the EarthSpark production team", so take that however you will. IMO in my opinion, I definitely think Protoman is right in that a new Transformers show is being worked on, but I wouldn't outright say that EarthSpark is cancelled just yet. I believe this might be a situation like how Prime and Rescue Bots were airing at the same time, or Cyberverse and Rescue Bots Academy were airing together. But anyway, guess we'll find out when we get closer to EarthSpark Season 2's finale. I can provide links to all these sources if necessary.
Well they did kinda butchered most of the decepticons character development from season 1 and made them "your typical villians" in season 2 im not surprised its cancelled i really wanna see a Transformers Animated season 4.

I'm not so sure... but if it did that would be one of the best things since sliced bread. I think Transformers would actually be better animated then live action, that way chunks of the budget could be easily axed.
Transformers and TMNT getting smacked about is something that always makes me sad. Happy every time they reinvent. But let your creative team create! Let them finish their stories

But anyway, if they do make another new show, I hope they go back to more of a Prime or Animated approach - taking itself more seriously and being made as much for more mature audiences as it is for kids, but not afraid to still have fun with itself.
I would love it if Hasbro approached TFI Creations and other fan groups to make a series. That'd be dope.

While I haven't seen Earthspark, I really hope it doesn't end with plot threads left unresolved. On the subject of Transformers series never being revived, didn't Hasbro continue G1 with Beast Wars? Then revive Beast Wars with the Netflix War for Cybertron series and the IDW comics? Also crossing my fingers that the next Transformers series is Animated season 4.
I want the next Transformers show to be a stealth sequel to Earthspark. But in all seriousness, F*ck Paramount and Hasbro and there inept, greedy asses and there audacity to screw over this show the way they did, it was scummy and inexcusable. A lot of people are sad about the news but I’m F*cking pissed.
This is no surprise, the writing wasn’t actually that great. Toy sales will always be affected by writing or even production quality. Not to mention Paramount+ is pretty much only used for some kids shows, and there are much better ones than this to watch.
Hasbro’s best bet for a show would be to make something a bit more mature and for older audiences.

@@XavierDaSalla tbh, I think we really need something like BW. Not only more beast looks of Transformers, but Alan more lore of what could be in the future (because Maximals and Predacons are predecessors of Autobots and Maximals) of new age.
I'm 33 and Earthspark was my first show but I've also got fleeting memories of my childhood in the early 90s of G2 ads and G1 reruns and having both Optimus Prime and Starscream as imaginary friends. So it wasn't my first series at the same time.
I was drawn into it by Starscream because he felt so familiar to me and also my best friend wanted to watch the show with me because she's a big TF fan. I just fell in love with this show immediately. I'm going to miss it but I'm not surprised by this. I thought we were never going to get season 2 myself.
I like Earthspark's take on Optimus and Megatron as two bestie dummies, and Transformers:One looks like a follow-up to that 😂
It’s unfortunate, I loved Earthspark despite it being as inaccessible to watch as possible. Toys could have been better quality, cause I really liked the terrans. Hopefully they didn’t plan on a season three and suddenly had it cut to two like so many great shows

I know Animated had a lot of unresolved plot points that were planned for Season 4. but I felt the show ended on a strong note. Why risk screwing it up? It also brings the question of who would helm the project since DJW passed away.
@leithaziz2716 oh man, a post "the rebirth" era show that dealt with new threats and showed how the autobots became the maximals? I'd love that....but I'd also love a return to the beast era and see what happened after beast machines.
They need to do a solid G1 series, minus the gaping plot holes and animation glitches of the original, and without all the Primus/All spark crap. And they can introduce Unicron as a common enemy as some point, but not as the planet earth. That was so Friggin' stupid. It would be really cool if they went all the way back to an Alpha Trion origin story, and worked their way up to Prime vs. Megs in the great war, from Cybertron to Earth.
@@javonwells1354 Yeah I think a G1 reboot or continuation is necessary at this point I think they should draw from the comics.. I'd love to see the War Within or Transformers Shattered Glass get a adapation.. IDW comics were obviously G1 related as well.. Some comics were great (Hail All Megatron, Last Stand of the Wreckers) and I think these could be adapted into like a animated movie universe similar to what DC was doing for a while with the Justice League/Batman
It would be cool if the next transformers show could be a Beast Wars reboot either that or a proper Transformers Prime sequel with actual good story telling and character development unlike RID 2015.

Yeah, a big-budget alternate 'Transformers: Prime' sequel that uses the characters created for 'Transformers: Robots In Disguise'[2015](including Denny and Russell) with better storytelling, keeps all of the surviving characters from 'Transformers: Prime', and brings in additional beloved characters(including human characters) from the 'Transformers' property's history, while also not overriding the 2 Rescue Bot series is something that I would love to see.
What a shame that such a show like this being cancelled after its second season.

Earthspark had a lot of cool ideas and some beautiful animation. It's a shame but the whole situation was weird from the beginning.

The problem is they made too much crap, Earthspark and ROTB both had terrible lines of gimmick toys that don't sell. All I see are flip changers, smash changers, thumb puppets. While I see a 10 year old grab a studio series cliffjumper. Had they made deluxe toys and not all those gimmicky crap they'd gotten way more sales. Also new molds like can we have Nova Storm, not be a cybertverse repaint. The show was alright. Looking forward to watching it.
Yeah the toys for ES are just terrible. They need to cut back and focus on the quality of the toys not quantity
@@tfuniverse1651 remember when mainline actually had BOTH quality AND quantity? Post-2007 movie toy lines were full of great toys, not just accurate to source material toys, but a bunch of original characters that most of the time look like they belong to the continuity (ROTF, RTS, HFTD, and DOTM)
Gimmick toys might legitimately be killing Transformers
I know this conversation is couple of months old but I think the right gimmick could be good. Remember Unicron triliogy? Cyberkeys, two bots combining and minicons. Each one was good cause it was part of the mainline which was really good solid transforming toy series.

These shows are, above all, commercials for toys. Since the toys aren't selling, I don't find it surprising there's talk of canceling the show-especially with the deep, dark financial hole that Hasbro's in.
Another thing in favor of week-to-week releases over streaming is *discourse*. With streaming, you're really only able to talk about the show as whole overall for about a month before the viewers start talking about other shows until a trailer for a new season drops. With wtw however, depending on the quality, episode length and seasonal length, you can grab an audiences attention so much longer and keep the conversations going long after the season has already ended.
I can say it couldn’t be cancelled after 9-10 episode of Season 2…

robert kirkman (creator of invincible) owns skybound comics who are making the rebooted transformers comics
he also wrote some of the comics earlier on
will we get a mature transformers animated show in the invincible style (way less gore and violence obviously)

Ever since TFP ended, Transformers cartoons have been on a downward spiral in terms of quality. Robots In DIsguise pretty much killed the Alligned Continuity, Cyberverse failed to reach a broad audience, Rescue Bots Academy existed, and now Earthspark not only got slapped onto a dying streaming service, but had bad writing and an inconsistent schedule to boot. A real shame because we could've been reveling in a new era of Transformers cartoons, which unfortunately isn't taking off like it used too.
So true. I genuinely wonder how the quality of basically everything transformers (from lore to shows to toys) got worse.
I honestly think it might have to do with the last knight bombing. although its toys were pretty good the movie didnt have as many toys the previous movies had, and ever since the quantity of toys have become less and the quality, while sometimes great, has dipped after the last knight. My guess is they aren't as confident when it comes to toy sales so they reduced the budget for toys, but thats my own theory.
I recommend giving the Skybounds comics a read. They're really good.

That's what happens when you boot the competent writers out and put in the interns, said interns did a character assassination of what the previous team did (Starscream really got the shaft, could've had a good arc like his Armada counterpart).
This stinks that Transformers Earthspark is being cancelled because I love the characters especially Twitch she is adorable.

I heard that season 2 was very inconsistent and did not follow up or remember anything from the previous season.
I really hate Earthspark character models (Optimus' face was atrocious. I absolutely love the models of the Terrans, but I feel like they fucked over a few of the legacy characters as far as design goes). I also don't think they handled Megatrons redemtion well. Also, they made Starscream the big bad of the next season? I'm very dissapointed. I wish he got his redemtion as well.
Agreed. Megatron feels boring in this show. It's like he is just there for some few episodes to protect the terrains and that's the only thing he does.

In this show I don't feel like his redemtion is 'earned'. He is good now because the show said he is and that was the end of it.
I ctually think he could have been the main character next to Optimus, because Megatron have a very interesting backstory, most people can even empathise with.
I knew it wasn't gonna last long, unfortunately. Having an animated show hosted on 1 streaming service with little to no marketing is basically a death wish. If they do end up making a new show, I hope they don't end up making the same mistake

There was an idea I had where they should make a adult animated show like Archer for low profile Decepticons (kinda scavengers-esque), or alternatively about the Wreckers
4:50 the show was also on Amazon Prime, which is how I watched it cause my mama has Prime.... heh *Prime*, puns. Also, I don't know if I would actually watch the show if it was weekly; I would wait that year and then watch it all.

personally season 2 seems so far like a huge letdown from what i was expecting. The quality in animation design seems to have lowered and it bothers me alot how the new characters seem like reskins of other characters (season 1 already gave me uncanny valley but somehow the trailer makes it look worse).
its a huge shame too because season 1, while not perfect, did had alot of potential :/
if they are gonna make a new show i really do hope its better quality at least visually, cause at the end of the day if something doesnt look good people just wont watch it..
I'd like to think that this will help Hasbro realize that they need to come up with a new approach for the toys aimed at kids. Kids were clearly not interested in the Cyberverse or Earthspark toys. But this is Hasbro. I'm sure the next toyline will be more of the same.
They won’t, it has happened over and over agian. The only way to change it is for a regime change over there.
Just gonna say that a few of the problems with how the episodes were released would've been easily solvable if it was cable TV. Not that it had to all be cable TV, cus some do benefit from it, but for earthspark in particular the piracy wouldn't have been so high if it wasn't isolated to Paramount+ in it's release. Another case of money burning itself instead of rising higher like the execs wanted
And once again streaming services ruined a great show, it happens so often now. When will companies understand this?
This i dont know why the only way to watch this show is to pay for a mediocre streaming service
I honestly am upset about it for a couple of reasons
1. With how little they developed most characters 53 episodes isn’t enough to actually flesh them out
2. I just don’t understand how the people working on shows just cancel them because they made a mistake like poor distribution, lack of interest in toys, etc and sometimes it’s because of bad ratings and they cancel tons of projects if something fails and I don’t think it’s fair. like just because the last knight bombed doesn’t mean paramount had to cancel the whole cinematic universe they were working on the concepts they were working on had potential. I’m still sad we never got that live action transformers show
3. Like you said the way they are releasing episodes is not that good and it doesn’t build up hype for the next episodes because they all release together

Going back my point about how little development each character has i think the issue with that is because there’s not enough filler episodes the show is very plot driven and even when there’s a filler episode it’s just the same characters and it honestly feels like anyone who isn’t a Terran,malto, mandroid, bee, Optimus or Megatron is just a cameo and i know most people don’t like filler episodes but i disagree they actually give the characters actual character development and makes us like them more and can still acknowledge the plot of the show or actually move the plot forward . Take prime for example it had a lot of filler episodes and you honestly couldn’t tell because they all have something to do with the main plot (with the exception of grill) and they also give us more insight into the characters for example if it weren’t for all those flashback episodes with arcee I don’t think she would be as beloved as she is today. Shows need to have filler episodes it allows us to get closer to the characters and it’s okay for a show to be almost all filler like g1. But earthspark is in desperate need of filler episodes

What i would give to have a prequel of transformers prime set during the war. I know thats pretty much just the transformers WFC and FOC games but still. The war went on for a looonnng time so it still has alot of possibilities
I think what a lot of people are forgetting is that most transformers franchises only stick around for 3 to 4 years. After that, the kids have grown up a bit and have lost interest. Then it's time to hit the reset button to focus on the batch of kids.
By the time Earthspark ends its second season it will have been around for roughly 3 years and reached the end of lifespan.
The show tried to connect itself to G1. It should have been its own story. If your gonna do G1 then you have to make sure to make it a worthwhile continuation from the Transformers G1 show. Then they included the they/them episode which turn alot of fans of the show. No need to include gender identity stuff in a kids show. Hopefully they get it right on the next series.
Its not connected to G1 at all & it never tried to be. The G1 style clips were just fun homages. It _is_ its own story, set in its _own_ universe. Also, there's nothing wrong with including someone like Nightshade. The show isn't "recruiting" anyone, its simply showing that people like this, who make these decisions for themselves, exist & are not bad; they deserve respect. Nightshade is adorable; they're a good baby. And, being they/them is only a fraction of their character. They are a very adorable & silly science nerd, who loves inventing things & reading books. They also love their family & wants to protect their friends and family. EarthSpark is an exceptional show, it deserves 4 seasons & a better toyline.
This is what happens when you don’t properly advertise your show and also lock it behind a streaming service almost no one has, like for real why did they put it on paramount when there last like 4 series were all on Netflix the infinity more popular streaming service
After episode 2 of s2 I already refuse to continue the show, because HOLY COW THE WRITINGS ARE GARBAGE. (Spoilers) :
Thrash and Mo found some kind of temple while they were just having fun and just stumble upon them. They enter the temple and stated that no one has ever found this temple before. You see the temple literally exposed by a gigantic hole a size of a football stadium, and the question is ; HOW IS NO ONE EVEN FIND THAT GIGANTIC HOLE NEAR THE WITWICKY TOWN??? Im be honest I really didn't like the way they made optimus in this show because and overall i really didn't liked the human characters as soon i saw the two kids and the mom and her bf i really wanted to blow my brains out because that's how much i had a felt about the show overall so im not very surprised of it being canceled
Mo's head looked extremely big compared to her body size and it's so... uncanny.
They need to do a solid G1 series, minus the gaping plot holes and animation glitches of the original, and without all the Primus/All spark crap. And they can introduce Unicron as a common enemy as some point, but not as the planet earth. That was so Friggin' stupid. It would be really cool if they went all the way back to an Alpha Trion origin story, and worked their way up to Prime vs. Megs in the great war, from Cybertron to Earth.

Idk but seems fair to me. The redemption of Megatron literally sounds so dumb. Megatron who literally killed millions of people in Cybertron and suddenly gives up towards Optimus and betrayed Shockwave and his other Decepticons.
It's like similar to Hux's story from Star wars sequels. Hux commanded starkiller to murder trillions of people and destroy populated planets and then in the next movie, He says He is a freaking spy himself.

I like idea in earthspark like new race like terrans and i like a villians and they dreams but i hate this thing the main villan was defeated by 2 kids(this really bad they can do better show like every transformers died only one Terrans only alive and they try revive everyone or when Starscream was villain Decepticons help the main character to defeat Starscream and this will more better than 2 kids with family power can stop them(this literally not interesting)

It could also be due to it being on a streaming service, people probably don't have the money to spend on the service so, they don't bother where as if it was on the television were it could be recorded without needing to spend the money on is more easier.
Also there's probably not alot of shows on the streaming service that either haven't already been watched or just not interesting enough to warrant a subscription for.
I just don’t want Earthspark to end on a huge cliffhanger. Season 1 at least ended on a positive and satisfying note, but shows usually like to go bigger in their second seasons so I’m really scared!

Yes, Transformers sometimes have too much action, "Earthspark" stood out and was something special. I really don’t understand why there is always such a negative attitude towards unusual ideas, it’s strange. But I hope that the new show will be as interesting as the other Transformers shows and they can combine action with everyday life (my favorite combination).
I hope that's not true, I hope we will have more sessions in the future. Why is always has to be toys toys toys?

@@darkspark5854 The fandom doesn't exactly look at the G1 post-movie seasons in high-regard, so I don't really know for who they would screw it up. I would be more worried of that risk if Animated got a continuation.
Season 2 sucked, I haven't seen it but I hated that the Decepticons were the villains after what happened in season 1, Starscream especially

I feel like they should give up the constant 3D or CGI movies. As far as I know, there’s been no recent 2D transformers movies. It could change things up for once.
Agreed, reminds me of G1, Armada and Animated. The 3D for Earthspark are awful including the effects, it seems off.
O haven’t had a chance to watch it much or pirate it, but many of the videos I watched about it made me excited. Also cause ptsd starscream, humor, treat us like animals, all good vibes
If we get a new show, I hope it pays more attention to Optimus and Megatron, allowing us to see their burning hatred of each other. Sorta what we're getting in Transformers One. And if that is the case, I hope their designs take inspiration from the Covenant of Primus.

After watching the whole show, I'll admit I like it. It's not my top favorite but I did like the show. Althought I felt like the episode pacing was kinda meh ish, cause part of me felt like I was already watching season 2 while it was only season 1. Cause they'd give use like a big chuck of episode and the way they finished the last episode of that chuck, felt like they ended a season and made the next one.
Good. Now maybe they can make a show that's actually worth watching!

At this point, they should REALLY listen to the fans to get a successful show. Granted, chances are they won't listen and end up continuously making failing shows.

This is so sad with yet another instance of the Animated Continuity. Cog fraggin dang it Hasbro. I hope at the very least any remaining plot gets filled out in a few extra episodes similar to the Owl House but dang, this is really unfortunate with only making it available on one of the least popular streaming services. Transformers Earthspark had so much going for it and it will always be one of my favorites.

I'm very dissapointed that they made Starscream the big bad of the season.

I have two ideas why this show is ending:
First off, I genuinely thought Earthspark had good ratings from what I read online so I never considered that. One quick Google search and… ooooo. Uhh… yeah I was so wrong. This show was not reviewed well.
Now my actual reasons, one that I can’t back up and one that I’m pretty sure I can.
The one I can’t truly back up is viewership. Ultimately viewership is what can kill a show if no one is watching it and I have a feeling that how they released the show that killed viewership (but some slack has to be cut because if you know anything about the production of this show, you know it was not pretty. The only reason Cyberverse got its forth “season” if you can call it that is because Earthspark just was not finished and I have a sneaking suspicion that the show still wasn’t finished when they dropped the first 10 episodes). Now I can’t back this up because I can’t find any documentation on what the viewer numbers were so I can’t really back this up unfortunately.
The one I more than likely can back up is toy sales. I know you brought up them not making new batches of toys to ship out but that’s ultimately dependent on if the line is selling and I’m sorry but this line was just not selling at all. I go to 5 separate Walmarts and I have rarely seen any Earthspark figures just flat out disappear because no one is buying these figures and I think that’s how the whole line is. No one is buying these figures.
Now I hope Hasbro learns from the mistakes Earthspark made. Do better on the toys, wait until the entire show is actually finished before shipping episodes out, and (this is a personal nitpick) make the show not as boring because I’m pretty sure that’s definitely something that’s turning kids off from this show, just nothing interesting happens
Transformers Prime sequel in cybertron with the og team prime in political / military positions dealing with the backlash from the non alligned cybertronians. Its about earning cybertron's trust again while shockwave toys with creation again threatening the universe
Even though I haven't watched it yet but. I dislike shows being canceled due to toy sales. Yes that's not the only factor, yes Hasbro rely on toy sales but why do shows need to be canceled because of toy sales. Too many good shows get cancelled because young justice (back then) Generator rex, etc.
It's like higher ups don't care as the writers that wanna tell a good story.
Another thing about the toys they just look unappealing and a little bit bland to me it's like those 1 step changers and I can't see myself buying those figures
Earthspark didn't get too good ratings either. I think the center of the plot should have been Megatron instead of the Terrans. A miner/gladiator/revolutionist/warlord turns a new leaf, reunites with his old friend, and starts to fight for good? That is something I would watcha a show about. (could have had flashbacks to Megatron's past)
I wish Optimus and Megatron were the central characters of the plot.
I love the Terrans, but Megatron and Optimus are infinitely more interesting than them.

If it's true, it really is a shame. I liked the first series and was looking forward to a second. If there's no more that really will be a loss as it's a great show! I can understand the toy sales being lacklustre though. I bought the "Deluxe" Megatron and he's smaller than Twitch! There was no point at all in releasing any of the non-Terrans as Deluxes, they should have gone straight to Leader. But Hasbro's gotta Hasbro!
I've still not seen earthspark but not because I don't want to I just forgot it was a thing because I rarely saw anything for it and none of the toys stood out in any stores either

They didn't release on DVD for so long either, and that's how my family watches things, I find many of the shows here on UA-cam as well. But yeah, I love Earthspark, seen the first 10 episodes, have to wait for volume two for the second half of season 1. They definitely shouldn't have kept it only on on program.
