I actually found Bella Poarch's music before I knew she was a tiktoker. I liked Melanie Martinez's music so the contradiction of mature themes through immature illusions is something I was already primed for. I think it also shows in her music that unlike some other tiktokers, it seems like she's had some challenges and life experiences in the real world despite being so young, including being in the armed forces, childhood abuse, divorce, racism, and sexualization/objectification. For the song Inferno on the Dolls EP, she made a music video where two men follow her into an elevator and try to assault her but she turns the tables and makes them suffer instead. She's said that that was based on a real experience except the music video shows what she wish had happened, instead of her assault. So yea, it's not surprising her music comes from a more complicated emotional place than "really really really really sad." The sound isn't for everyone but there's emotional honesty and something meaningful to convey.
same thing happened to me, spotify recommended her music and i was really into it. i don’t have tiktok, so one day when i was listening to her music my sister, who does have it asked if i’m listening to the tiktok person bella poarch. i was confused until she said that she’s the person who got millions of likes just for looking at the camera and doing a face in one video iirc
I don't mind TikTok influencers making music, as long as they're taking it seriously and are making a genuine effort instead of half assing it for clout and for people to hatewatch it or watch it ironically. It can be a smart way to market yourself if you want to pursue music. If music is what you want to do and you go viral on TikTok, then obviously you're gonna want to use that opportunity to make music and become successful.
Bella is actually VERY good. She served melody, voice, lyrics AND visuals. Living Hell is about her abusive parents and Inferno, Dolls and No Man's Land are about the human female experience.
i feel like the childish elements in bella poarch's build a bitch are justified and adds on to the meaning of the song because 'build-a-bitch' is a reference to the children's activity of 'build-a-bear', and emphasises the message that the beauty standard is implemented and socialised since young.
Ya the beauty standards you f3maIes have fking started since the beginning? Yet you blame men for your own sht genders faults. Typical f3maIe mindset. Surprised nobody mentioned Nessa Barrett. I’d go on to say she made it to real high places and went on two successful tours in 2023. She was serious about music since day one unlike most on that clock app

To be fair, she isnt mispronouncing but. She's just not separating the words "but" and "sometimes" so they run together lol. Unless I'm being too nice idk

Honestly, the whole "tickling depression" thing Dixie does is kinda meh. I really like "Numb Little Bug" by Em Beihold because it goes more onto a deeper level of what depression feels like.
I still don't like Tiktokers making music, especially when there's artists out there who deserve views and support than they do, tho yes i understand they can work on themselves for the better and work on their vocal ability, but for the moment i still won't support them, it just annoys me that they're being prioritize than artists that can blow them away by just their finger tips. Tho I won't shame people who love their music, i still haven't seen any of them make an impactfu or unique sound. Addison rae is a perfect example of how little to no talent you need to he called a "gay icon", the standards are below hell
bailey spinn. i’m sorry but it has to be said… nobody asked for her to make music and it really isn’t for her. i love her videos but not her music. she just isn’t made for it and that’s ok, but i can’t be the only one who feels like this
I don’t really like the whole thing when influencers make music but when Bella Poarch was in Sub Urbans song,”Inferno” it was actually a song I’d listen to
I’ll stand by Addison Rae, Obsessed might have not been the best choice for her debut, but she has some amazing unreleased songs. It seems like Charli XCX is key for her future music and Charli is both a hit-maker and vanguardist, the best of both worlds.
@@00pium_kingvampstan Maybe the sing was one of the first finished tracks from the bunch. Also, after I gave the song another try (after the initial leaks), I noticed the good thing about obsessed is how polished and “perfect” it was. But that’s also its disadvantage, it’s too good to be a debut, imagine Taylor debuting with Blank Space, Katy with Fireworks, Gaga with Bad Romance, etc. I think it was too polished for Addison’s image, especially since she was a TikTok star.
