Welcome to my Animal Crossing channel. Today's Animal Crossing video is all about the Villagers in Animal Crossing, that have seen Personality Changes between games.
We take a look at every Animal Crossing Villager who debuted in Animal Crossing as 1 particular Personality Type, but have since been changed to another. There are 18 in total, across 5 generations, including 2 Animal Crossing Villagers in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

I don’t want more personality types but I do wish they gave villagers duel ones. Have a dominant type personality with some small qualities of another. Making each villager more unique so you don’t feel like your talking to the same character all the time.
Exactly, I hate that I can have a conversion with all 3 of my sisterly villagers and 2 of them will say the exact same dialogue, word for word. It's very confusing also because the dialogue feels well written and genuine, but it also feels hollow because every villager says the same things. Like, are you telling me every single lazy villager lives with bugs and is fine with that? Really? And I definitely believe in some peppys chances to become pop stars more than others.
@@lexylunamoon i feel like if they iust had a scale of intensity it could easily fux this, now not all peppy villigars want to be pop stars and not all lazy villigars love living with bugs. And also of course have all personalities work for all genders
We need the classic Population Growing personalities back. They were easy to tell apart and you had to work to get them to like you.
I've wanted to see Carmen and/or Flossie return as big sister villagers since despite the many mice in AC, we don't have any with this personality type. Obviously, Carmen would need a name change (maybe Carla?) since her name was reused for a rabbit villager. It would be like how the original squirrel named Sally was re-named Cally in Welcome Amiibo because her name was given to Hazel whose name was given to a new squirrel villager introduced in New Leaf. I also like to think Flossie is Bettina's older sister since they look similar and according to New Leaf, Bettina is the youngest of two kids.
Something I wonder about too is why villagers are called "lazy" when they're more "childish" or "young." Unless in Japanese culture these traits are considered lazy because they seem like they didn't pay attention in school or something? Is it a translation thing?
From what I read online, it is indeed a translation thing. Looking at the original Japanese version, a more accurate translation would be "silly" or "carefree".

When I started searching for new villagers for my island (after the very first 2), everyone was a normal type, and when I finally invited one, then everyone on mystery island was a lazy type. After I invited a lazy villager to my island, the random villagers changed to peppy ones. So the order isn't always the one you said in the video, unless theyre's been changes (or if that counts only if you don't invite the villagers yourself but let the game fill the empty plots). I started my island back in spring 2020, and as we know, many things have changed after that.
Finally a video where my boy Ed gets to shine. I loved him since the original and had him in every game - if possible pre-Amiibo. I know he used to be a jock but it’s honestly hard to imagine him as anything but smug now bc New Leaf and Horizon really left such a big impact.
Ed is soo cool! I love his hairstyle, colors and I’m so happy to have his amibo!

Rowan and Leopold are the only villagers on your list who have been on my island, Leopold having been my initial Smug villager, but I replaced him with Julian.
I can tell Ursula used to be snooty by the way she bullied Gabi to tears.
i actually got sprocket( huge jock) and mira( big sister i think)for the starting villagers and freckles ( super peppy) and paulo( pretty lazy)

Anyway, I always thought that Sylvia should've stayed a snooty character sometimes because her name screams snooty. Ursula should have been changed into a peppy villager since she looks the part. We need more peppy female bears. Dobie and Harry being cranky villagers was one of the best decisions ever made! Ed deserved to stay a jock villager. I would've liked to have seen a jock character with an emo vibe.

I wish there were more types tbh. I think they are currently a little bit too gender stereotypes. We could have female jocks or male normals. Or something similar to it but slightly different. Or completely new personalities like "geek" or "tree hugger". Yes they'd still technically be stereotypes but it's not like you can make unique ones for each villager. Also not all of them should be locked to gender.

There are female villagers whos hobby is fitness. I have Mathilda had she wont stop doing elbow knee touch and bicep curls lol
yeah i looked up which females had fitness interest, especially uchis - rocket is a badass for example

Villagers are my favorite part of the game.
Villagers. I like that they are adding more personality types, but to be honest I'd rather seem the villager evolve into individual characters. I mean they did it in other games such as Breath of the Wild. There are hundreds of characters in Breath of the Wild that are different (crazy flower lady, Guardian obsessed lady, Beetle, etc...) so how hard would it be to do it with AC? And why are they gender specific personalities and hobbies? Praise to Sasha for being the first male villager to like fashion. I feel like Julian should like fashion too...just because. Plus the smug villagers talk about fashion, but it's never their hobby. Sorry for the rant.
Exactly, drives me crazy when the villagers interests don't match up with their personality. Like if I got a peppy who didn't like fashon or singing (don't know if there are any but you still get the point) I would be confused and not believe they want to be a popstar. It's almost like having 4 boxes per gender to shove 200+ villagers into isn't a good idea. Oh jeez I wonder how we could have seen that one coming lol

I’m probably misremembering, but in the GameCube version, “Roald” (blue penguin) was mine and my brother’s favorite! He had the personality like Filbert (whatever that is called). At least that’s what we remembered. I got new horizons and bought his amiibo. I was disappointed though that he has a jock personality. Does not fit him. I hate it. Am I just remembering wrong what his personality used to be?
