I feel bad for him in this situation but he has used his wrestling toughness to turn this into a positive. He's coaching at North Carolina now and North Carolina is doing better than ever. Much respect for this young man.
Because he wouldn’t of coached if he didn’t get stabbed in the back?
Ramos had every right to feel betrayed, he was lied to by his coaches and that’s not ok. I feel like this might happen with Gilman and Lee
Justin ThomasTM lol no, i’d have gilman go up to best Colon, because that weight is weak imo, not taking away from Joe, he just isn’t consistent.
Cade Meyer Isn’t Nashon Garrett in that weight? That would be tough for Gilman because Nashon is quick and strong
Justin ThomasTM he is, but Nashon can’t beat Joe.
Justin ThomasTM oh fuck
Oh my if only you knew
it's all about loyalty I'm in Tony Ramos corner in this one
Joe Penafiel I wished I could do more than like this comment
So was Tom but in life not a wrestling match
Tony you've proven yourself to yourself, so don't trip. Life makes its own rules, but being a champ (that's who you are) we have to constantly overcome. You'll never meet me but I believe in you. Transfer to ISU
makes sense. His coaches brought in someone (Dennis) they knew was leaving to another program in the same weight class to basically teach and train him on how to beat their guy (Ramos). makes no sense. Id leave too.
We see this more than you think. Big teams want to stay big and the “individual” is an afterthought.
What a press conference. Don't usually hear anyone say anything of substance and Tony let's it all out in thoughtful but direct way.
Looks like Gilman learned from Ramos and Dennis. Gilman is gone to Penn State now!!! It’s going to be a great match once it happens!!!
Qhimico Asesino. Sadly, this is not an isolated occurrence. The Brands don’t have loyalty as a strong suit.
This is about team USA.... we need to send the best we can to get the gold.
It's sad but true
it sounds like they played good cop bad cop on him
HNICB1GM1K3 Felt the same way too.
And it didn’t work. That’s a roll of the dice that didn’t pay off
Well spoken and kept his cool. I’d imagine he let it out afterwards. Looks like he has some good reasons to scream
I think there have been a few things behind the scenes that we do not know about...
Ramos seems like sour grapes here. Dennis is part of the Iowa program, just like Ramos.
Ramos has every right to feel betrayed here.
Wow he's devastated
what u didn't get it's about Iowa not individual Tony
When you look out for the individual the team is always better off especially in an individual sport like wrestling. I think loyalty to your guys should come before everything!
All this to have Dennis lose in the first round of the Olympics by ALOT and not do shit.
I respect Barrows
Psychology redirecting the loss for blame.
scottab140 he literally said in the interview, he can’t blame the loss on anyone but himself.
A white banner on this vid "Austin Desanto's vision quest?" You've got to be kidding. He beat an unhealthy Lee. Lee had a torn ACL, he had to wear a cumbersome brace, and the injury kept him from getting in top shape. The film does not fit what really happened! Now Desanto has been kicked off his team. He tried to break Micic's arm at the NCAA's. You are giving Desanto way too much cred for his win against Lee.
Reggie Glubber bruh your a year late and he didn't get kicked off his team he left cause it was shit. And yeah he did try to hurt him but he has autism and is gonna have to learn how to react better in that situation
Reggie Glubber you are a year late you idiot check the records when did they make that video? Right after the high school match which was more than a year ago you fuck
MC SHIZZLE People are still commenting on Desantos huge problem and the matches that reflected that dangerous issue. Get used to it.
Yianni won a natty with a torn ACL & so did Lee. If it was so bad then there's zero chance he was going to be allowed to risk a collegiate, world and Olympic career. He rocked everyone on his way to the final. He lost to a guy that he beat badly the year before but set a goal for himself and achieved it. It's a compliment to how highly regarded Lee was. Get tf over it
@@e2go Your childish profanity shows your character. There are all DIFFERENT levels of injury. High school was a whole different scenario. Lee's torn ACL was horrific thus the reason that he was VERY CLEARLY not in top shape. Thus the absolute ONLY reason why Desanto won. Watch Lee's other 3 State titles vs his last runner up finish. He was SLOW and not in shape. Sorry faux wrestling professor it's NOT debatable. How many collegiate wrestlers have dominated Desanto yet Lee beat them with ease? BOOOOOM! & BOOOOOOOOM!
maybe u should stare them down it might change their mind. what a tool this guy is
Iowa in disloyalty to wrestlers venturing in their adventure
Tom Brands looks out for himself. Self promoter
and so r u
Those of us who have lived it
know it when we see it.
He beat u fairly
😢😢😢😭😢
brent Metcalf looks like a raises guy Trump of wrestling while he wrestles a mexican that is messed up
Dude were you drunk when you wrote this?
Haters of Iowa.
Throwing the word "friggin" in at the end of this interview showed no class.
Reggie Glubber lol stfu
Dude stfu.
@@derekslimier3005 lol that's exactly what I was thinking
You sound like a friggin' soy boy.
stfu bitch
