What I’m about to say is obvious I’m sure but the best thing about your videos is the silence! No talking and no MUSIC!! No one else does that. Love the sound of the strong wind and the sploshing water as you wade through it in this one, puts the viewer right there with you. Keep em coming silent !
Hi Neil, It's great to hear you enjoyed the video and thank you so much for taking the time to comment, not only does it help the channel grow it also it a great source of motivation for myself.
Such stunning river and the surroundings, you have total confidence in your tackle, no mucking about changing the drag ,relying on every piece to do its part, wonderful to see, tight lines, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Hi Craig, Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am truly spoilt to have the Wye close to home and I truly appreciate your support with this channel over the last year its helped enormously.
@@silentangling no problems, tbf, it's like me and the trent, being in newark, it's a 10 min walk through town and I'm on the middle trent, tidal is 10 min drive away, so why I can do these 2-3 hr session's, but your scenery is so so much better lol
Hi Ian, Apologies for the late reply and thank you for taking the time to comment and the support you have given this channel over that last year and lie the swans I'm living my best life.
Another enjoyable video Silent Angler! Conditions looked pretty cold and bleak but you landed a lovely barbel again. Happy New Year and all best with your angling in 2024.
Hi Alan, Happy New Year to you my friend and apologies for the late reply. I cannot thank you enough for your support with the channel over the last year its meant alot.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to comment, I've got to keep things simple theses days. This is Holme Lacy available through HDAA, hope this helps and thank you again for your support
@@silentangling Thanks for this. I rejoined HDAA last year after not fishing the Wye for the best part of 50 years and have only managed to fish the Breinton stretch thus far so it is always interesting to know & see what the other stretches are like.
Hi @@silentangling many thanks and I will certainly have a wander that way once the floods subside a bit. For me the the surroundings are equally as important as the fishing which is why I have not fished in the centre of Hereford.
Funny old game winter fishing " well come to think of it spring ' summer ' autumn ' no joking aside winter is for me at least keeping a eye on the barometer ' water level and last but not least water temperature, if you can get all your ducks in a row then you stand a fair chance of putting something in the net , the moods of the river seem to change I was talking to one of our bailiffs just before Christmas and a peg that we both fish very close to willows and a footbridge in summer holds both chub and barbel and we've both had good fish out whilst chewing the fat outside our local butchers shop he enquired as to whether I'd fished it in winter months instantly I thought I know we're your going with this , 3 times not so much as a twitch on the tip was my reply, I got the same negative response from him " so the rivers up a couple of feet it's has a lovely colour to it, the temperature has risen the flow not much different you can still hold bottom with the same weight of lead , the only thing I can think of is oxygen levels in summer it drops of a sand bar into a bit deeper water but not much 😕 if it was easy every man and his dog would be at it . Dad always came out with it's angling lad not catching " how right he was . 🤣
Hi Martin, Please accept my apologies in the late reply. I do so love reading your comments and value your input. I bet the butchers shop do some of the best sausages, ours did before Morrisons arrived and killed them off. Thanks again my friend
Loved flood water fishing on the river Kennett before the environmental agency stood back and aloud it to be murdered gave all my fishing gear to my son now sat collecting dust in his garage
Hi Billy, Firstly please accept my apologies for the late reply and thank you for both your time in watching and commenting. Its sad to hear/read about the demise of such Iconic rivers. Im hoping to visit a few of the course of next season so any advice on venues to fish would be much appreciated.

Hi, @@MrLouRules the Holme Lacy stretch is the jewel in the crown, that's if you go fishing fore more than the fish
