Just subscribed here in Texas heat . Will have to try this new nyx foundation with my oily skin . I love when we can change our minds and make up techniques . It shows creativity and that’s what make up is about !
I like that you are evolving. The foundation in studio light looked very yellow ( you are quite peach 🍑 toned). In natural light light it looked better a much closer match. However the finish is quite natural and pretty. Love it.
I'll need to play around with shades a little bit!

If people abandon you or have a problem with you switching things up then that’s on them, not you. I like switching things up - it’s how you learn and grow and it’s so much fun! I know I am rather new to your channel but I adore you and every time I see a new video from you I immediately stop what I’m doing and watch because I think you’re a lovely person all around, you’re genuine, and I know I’m going to learn something really cool. I could go on and on,, but your true fans/subscribers will always watch with interest and they’ll always have your back 💜
Girl we do not care about your techniques. We care about you. We care about you and your opinion. If someone unsubscribed over you not powdering, then they’re not genuine and you don’t need them. I like to powder for my combo skin, but I don’t like matte foundations. Do whatever works best for you. We all change and grow as we get older so we want to grown and change with you. Do you boo the real ones will still be here! 💚

As someone with oily skin I find that the less “mattifying” I do the better foundations look on my skin. I also find that my skin produces LESS oily when I use hydrating items in conjunction with matte products
Ameerah Muhammad that sounds like you may have dehydrated skin. Of so, your skind will produce more oil to counteract the missing moisture. So hydrating can reduce the oil production. I might be wrong coz I don't know you, but maybe this makes sense to you. If not, just ignore my comment ;)

Some people may not agree with your changing methods, but I know that I, and many other people, will never abandon you or your channel. I think it’s important to be real and genuine, like you are, and share what’s working for you. I feel as though using a primer/beauty blender/no powder is realistic, and you are allowing your audience see how the foundation works from many informative angles. Keep it up because you rock!! Your reviews are awesome and extremely helpful!
Now if only we can get the stores to stock all the shades of foundation so I don’t have to buy online blindly. Honestly I didn’t buy the last foundation they released, the total control drop foundation because I can’t find any shade darker than mocha in stores and I have given up on it.

aaah i’m so glad you put out a review for this ! i saw the announcement for the foundation and i was super excited, bc rn all i’ve been using is the too faced peach perfect foundation and i want a cheap matte foundation for when i run out of it 😩 i’m glad it held up, its great news for my oily skin. P.S. you talking about you changing ways of applying makeup was kind of reassuring to me. i’m not sure why, but knowing that everyone changes somehow doesn’t make me feel obligated to stick to one look over and over again. sorry for the long comment, but an awesome vid once again !!!

I totally understand your excitement for makeup! I feel that way too! And I tweak how I wear my makeup all the time. I use brushes, sponges, different primers and powders for different foundations so it's okay for you to try different things I'm not going to click away lol

I’m starting to think all these products they are selling us, aren’t working. Setting spray and most primers don’t work for me. Have you tried the Stellar primer? Please do, I keep asking UA-camr’s I watch😬
I think I would lean more to the NYX foundation versus Colourpop since I can actually go in store and check out the shades in person. It potentially might be my next everyday/work foundation once I get through my Bareminerals BarePro. 😀

I was THE matte foundation gal but now don’t enjoy it anymore. My skin is craving for moisture as it ages and I think it’s fair to respect that and make changes to the makeup routine. I won’t abandon you so don’t let that keep you awake! ☺️👍💁🏻♀️

Do you ever use setting sprays? They always say it takes away the "powdery" look, but it never seems to have that effect on me no matter how much I use. Now of course I'm not gonna sit there and use half the bottle like some UA-camrs do since I can't afford that lol

We will never abandon you! Change is good. I used to look for all matte foundations now I'm trying out different types on my skin even though I am an oily skin gal. As I age I notice I'm no longer super oily anymore so it I guess you have adjust when your body changes. Makeup is meant to experiment with. I've always heard there is no right or wrong way to do you makeup.

I personally change how I wear my makeup from time to time. I used to only wear medium to full coverage foundation now my foundation is so shear. Makeup preferences change over time. gah, you’re so radiant! Seriously one of the most beautiful people on UA-cam. I’d love to try this foundation because they probably have a great shade match for me, but omg matte foundations make my craters look soooo bad. And I find they tend to separate on my face quite a bit. But I like this one on you! I never set my makeup with powder for the most part. If I do I might do on my t-zone but if I set beneath my eyes, it takes off a lot of the coverage from the concealer, and since I then have powder on my eyes, I can’t reapply throughout the day - which is something I need to do. Concealer just comes off my under eyes so damn quickly.
everyone’s way of applying makeup always changes. so don’t ever worry about losing subscribers. just keep doing you girl
I never use primers either! Sometimes I think the more layers you use the cakier your makeup can look

Okay...I’m an oily skinned girl too. Like I would never put on any product without powdering my entire face because being Matte was a big deal for me. And omg! Recently I went through the same change! It’s crazy, I only lightly dusted my undereyes and I loved how it looked. I’m here 100% for all your content btw, your reviews never steer me wrong!
Hi Samantha, I have a request, can you show us how u apply blush n bronzer or powder contour on your face since you're not setting it. I'm worried it's going to move my foundation. I have oily skin as well.
The shade match is really good on camera and it performed well without being set.I think it is oily skin friendly.Pls do keep us posted on the foundation after you test it for some more time.Can’t wait to see it in stores.

You are so right about the in-between shades. I'm medium/tan and I'm so often in that gap! Thanks for this because I'm so curious. Love the loud cat interruption lol. Our makeup tastes can change over time, as can our skin. Honestly, I'm super dry and I still love your foundation reviews. What I appreciate is when you just say what kind of effect the product gives- this highlighter is subtle sheen or super bold. Now you just understand both. It's wonderful to see how your channel has grown! You have earned the recognition that you are getting. You are also allowed to change things up if you want to, sweetie. You never know what you will find out next. On Monday, I forgot to put on a mattifying setting spray (usually Wet N Wild Photofocus, Milani's Make it Last or Urban Decay's De-Slick) with Soap and Glory's One Heck of a Blot primer, which I am currently testing. Well, I discovered how well that primer works in hot weather - it was a real test of its blotting abilities! My makeup still hung together, and I even got a compliment on it. Same to people matching foundation darker. I get this all the time. I'm light skin and I have hyperpigmentation on my face and neck and people always match me to 5 shades darker than I really am.
You're the only oily skinned person to have a review up. There are only a couple videos, in all. I gotta have it. I just can't get a hold of newer things. Cleveland doesn't get things until they've been out for awhile.

Well this girl right here just became a new subscriber & clicked that bell for the simple fact that you DIDN'T set the foundation!!! I want to know how a foundation works without setting it what if I leave my house without setting or just don't want to ya know!? Of course I like to see it set to but it's rare to see someone actually test the foundation itself without adding all the other stuff!

If you’re NC42 in MAC your shade is Caramel. I just bought it today and the foundation wears beautifully. Very matte though, and may be a bit drying depending on your skin type. It reminds me a lot of Estée Lauder Doublewear. I’m impressed.

I will be definitely buying this foundation. I am so tired of not being able to find an in between shade with yellowish undertones for caramel tones. No more orange-ish foundation for me. And to top it off I am super oily. This is a mad dash to get this product!

Of course it depends on the skin and on the foundation, not everyone needs a setting powder! In my case, when I was under treatment it was better not to set, otherwise it's a MUST! Plus, I'm sick and tired of shimmer and sparkle marketed as a highlight, it's supposed to be a subtle sheen. So feel free to do what suits you the best! It's weird that you have to justify yourself.

Your foundation reviews are amazing and so in depth I love watching them so much. I used to always powder my face..with these super matte foundations I never put powder on I find it just makes it looks even dryer then it already is lol and also more cakey! Love your videos keep doing you girl

I am so glad with the shade beige, I am close to your skincolor and most of the time a in between shade. I like to mix it with the born to glow foundation in the same shade. Love your videos!
Oh hun, I wouldn't worry one bit about people leaving your channel because of you switching it up. Our preferences change over time, especially with age!! For example: I'm only 28, but I feel like my hooded eyes are getting more hooded as I get older! I used to wear liquid liner EVERYDAY for like 10 years and now I don't wear any at all, ever, because of my eyes. Just mascara. So yeah, I think everyone's preferences change over time.
I always use beauty blenders, that's not why I watch you. I think it's a good thing that you (we) change things up. Oftentimes, we get rooted in certain routines, it's important to make changes. Keeps life fresh!

I went to beautycon over the weekend and they were giving out this foundation! I was very excited but they ended up being out of the color they matched me to and just gave me a sample to try. I guess it was for the best because I wore it to day two and I look crazy in all of the pics. the undertone was very wrong for me- way yellow like yours and that was shade 6.5 which is supposed to be neutral. I think the wear was good but def too matte on my combo skin after powder. I also always powder but now I want to try going without because it worked for you. thanks for the great review, as always 😊
