Hi @Ralph Clesca. I am an Australian citizen and an Australian pensioner and I am thinking of going to live in Bali, my hobby is writing poetry of which today I have more than 10,000 written together with real short stories, I would love it if I get to live in Bali to meet you and do business with my poems so you would earn money just for helping me publish remember that in the world more than 400 million people speak Spanish as their first language, most are written in Spanish some in English and some other languages, I have been watching videos of people like but no one explain the issues with the clarity that you do, you are a very direct and clear person when it comes to giving information, this video is the first that I see of yours and I love it so I congratulate you and please continue doing more videos that are the best that I've seen on the internet, from Perth Australia I send you a warm hug.
Thanks Ralph, I always enjoy watching your videos. I was initially drawn to your videos because you were living in Vietnam which is one of my favorite places and plan to return there someday and live hopefully. I am glad to see Bali is working out! Cheers
Hey. Same here i hope to be back there one day 😊 now i wonder how long it ll be before they open... Just a week ago many of the foreigners who had been able to stay were given their exit visas and im not sure they have the option to extend if they want to...
Where did you two stay? The places I lived was 4.5 million IRD, or 3.5 million IRD plus utilities: electricity which was between 400,000-500,000 IRD. Massage is a must! I don’t care of the increase of spending. Laundry for me was between 30,000-50,000 per week. Monthly gym was 540,000 monthly. 600,000 for scooter rental. Extension went up, it use to cost 500,000 IRD but when I departed in 2020 it was 900,000 for VISA extension. Other costs were food but I never kept track of that.
Here's a little tips for you Ralph, when you had haircut from your regular barbershop, take a picture as detail as possible, and the next one you want to have a haircut, just go to local barbershop, and show them your pictures after the first haircut. Regular haircut in Indonesia is about 2 bucks, or 25k idr this should help you cut your expenses a little.. And if you make smoothies every day, you can buy your fruits in kilos, it's cheaper that way.. And if you like to eat Nasi, you can buy a "rice cooker" for about 20bucks and cook your own rice, it's pretty simple tho. And just buy your side dish without rice or you can cook it yourself, your choice, it's cheaper and healthier that way..
Eating out is always more expensive than preparing your own food at home, especially western food. That’s a big expenditure especially if you have it delivered. But life is short so might as well enjoy it while you can.
I thought like you before to save money. But now instead of focusing on saving money, I focus on making money. Reprogram your subconscious mind and see your life changing 🙂
Am an old woman and live in America. Was diagnosed with gastritis, a stomach disorder because of eating processed foods. My diet is to be organic foods only and found out organic foods are still processed because I put organic apple on refrigerator and apples did not rot. My question is the food there fruits and vegetable are they organic???
It's 50/50... and I wouldn't choose VIETNAM... I advocate for DA NANG lol. I think it's the best city in Vietnam personally. I love Da Nang's Layout. Bali is fun, great surf, lots of sightseeing and all the activities i could ever want... but the thing i miss most is the layout and the beautiful beach right next to the road in Da Nang... in Da Nang, the beach is not an activity, it's part of daily life, just going to buy something at the store, and you ride next to the beach, beautiful to look at, the bridges at night are so beautiful... the river right in the middle... everything about the layout is amazing... everything is 30 minutes away or less... waterfalls, monkey mountain, paddleboard, surfing, everything...if i could take Bali and drop it in Da Nang, this would be the best city in the world!
We love Danang too. We are going back to VN in April but for 2 months in Nha Trang. We hope it's as nice as Danang our friends say they like it better, they bought an apartment there. I prefer to go back to Danang but will give Nha Trang a try. I prefer VN over Indonesia and it's 30 percent cheaper. Best to experience both though.
Hi Ralph, thank you guys for your videos, very helpful. Now that you guys have lived in Da Nang & bali, I would very much like to know you & your wife's opinion as to where is your favorite place. I hope to hear from you Ralph.
Hi Ralph after the visit visa is available now, do you prefer visit visa or business visa if I’m planning to stay for long time( between 6 months to 1 year) please advise . Thanks 😍
Hey Jody. In the description of the video... But here is the link: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUGO0xPVHtZhQHYt7lW3ZodKSnCVzqn8_N31TK9eV3NP94vg/viewform
If you could live, eat, and travel like locals, you can even stretch mighty dollar much further. Western food in Asia is not cheap. Happy life. Happy wife. Chills from Minnesota!
When you say look below to find location to apply to enter ….where do you look below? I opened a like you posted in comments and that was just a conclusion telling your girlfriend how much you spent. Where do you find the link?
Hi. It s in the description box of the video. But here is the link: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUGO0xPVHtZhQHYt7lW3ZodKSnCVzqn8_N31TK9eV3NP94vg/viewform
Hi Ralph, Enjoying the videos. If you got a 6-month visa, is your time not up about now? Are you planing to extend your visa and how easy is that, thanks
I applied for another... it's quite simple... The agent takes care of it, i had to go to immigration to get my fingerprints taken and 15 minutes later i was done...
Living the dream in Bali and yes extremely cost effective in every way. Tripple your costs if you ever visit Australia. Eating out local, okay providing your avoid Bali Belly 😀
I don't want to attack you, but it is not what it is, staying here temporarily is different from living. Yes, you can eat and drink here for a few bucks a day, great, but if you want a beer, wine or any other alcoholic drink, it's cashier and I mean cashier! As an example, an ounce of cheese costs as much as a kilo in Europe. Wine, local from the store, undrinkable and five times more expensive than in Europe. The life you live is different from living here and believe me, it will be different and can sometimes be more expensive than you expect. Every day noodles, or nasi with a chicken leg from a campong chicken, good luck with it! Meat is expensive here, local meat is tough and unedible, you switch to import and then, yes, checkout is two to three times expensive if you are used to in your own country. Do you want to live in a room for the rest of your life, good luck with it, your aim is slow. Then all those beautiful stories about locals, they always smile, yes as long as you pay. Don't forget one thing, Indonesia is a winner when it comes to corruption and believe me, it's in their genes. Say no once, then you will see that they are less nice, again I live happily here and am happy with the house I own here, but don't be fooled too much with creamy stories, while the naked reality is very is different. It took me many years to accept, had no choice and now that I can play the game, I play it, you don't learn this in two months Bali! Okay, don't let that stop you from coming here, however, I'm trying to flatten out some of the youtube people a little bit. Finally and this bothers me the most, many expats now live here at squeezed prices, while the Balinese is suffering and this is the last I will write about this!
actually if you stay in cities in central & east java, such as jogja, semarang, solo, etc, the costs of living are way way cheaper than bali or jakarta.
There are better. But ipostal1 is the one i have used. They have many locations because they partner with local post offices but if you could find one that handles their own and has their own location. You'll probably be happier. The one i use now the site is a bit outdated and sometimes old files disappear from the dashboard.
You have the most valuable videos! Thank you so much! I just moved to Ubud. Do you know how to get specific mail sent here and where? My business still only pays via paper checks. Thank you !
Hi Angela... Id love to know where the checks are coming from... from another country? The reliable option has been DHL but even for a letter, it can get very pricey :)
does that include house rent, visa for two people and eating out for 2 people..ralph and his wife both in bali 1300 usd already includes everything including electricity, laundry, gym, massage, and everything
Hehe Im not talking about street food in Indonesia enough 🤣 and I'm working on my coaching program so i admit i haven't published enough also... Will be back strong...
on facebook... search for "canggu villa" or "accomodation in bali". there are tons of bali groups and there they post daily... you can also write your budget and what you're looking for and you'll get dozens of agents contacting you... from there you can contact them and go visit the villas that you're interested in :)
If you want super save in a month buy rice cooker for $10, Rice 50 kg $12 and dried salty fish $ 10/kg. So you just spend 1st month $32 and $22 in next month 🤣🤣🤣
Hey, just a suggestion, if you are going to name the different segments, rather than call them "segment", actually list what they are in the description of the video.

You guys have been eating in Changgu, which is more expensive compared to eating at where locals eat which is a big difference.

it's better to buy a used motorbike.. it can cut monthly costs.. and later when you return home the motorbike can be sold again
great idea in fact... I should look into that...
Could you post a link on the digital mail service and the the place where you are staying?
tips : if u have plan to stay more longer in bali .. i suggest you to buy motorbike ... than you rent every months
You're one of two people to say that haha i guess i should look into this...

Yes people have been coming here the last few months :) as far as the first question... haven't heard much of that really...
No tourist visas or voa Visa on arrival, only business visa

Yes I agree, Bali is more expensive than Vietnam and Thailand but Cambodia is like Bali prices. I think that's because Cambodia uses US dollars.
Good share

Interesting! Does your $1K include housing (e.g. rent)?
does that include house rent, visa for two people and eating out for 2 people..ralph and his wife both in bali 1300 usd already includes everything including electricity, laundry, gym, massage, and everything
I'm curious too 😁
I'd love to know that too 😊

What Visa you have there?? Normally 2 months for Indonesia.
You get 6 months to start (2 months, then extend each of the next 4 months), then apply for a new one for 5 more months going forward...
