    What you just explained is that the auto market is not with the times. Entry level cars have not affordable for teens for almost 30 years.

    How many Teslas are expected to be sold in the US this year? Whatever the number is, it is a big bite out of the legacy makers numbers . When Tesla comes out next year with their $25.000 car the pain in 2026 will be even more severe . What will the legacies and their dealer networks look like in two years ? Many say that we are past peak for auto sales in the US and with longer lasting EVs and Robotaxis will have up to 80% fewer sales( Tony Seba) in 2030. We may be in the midst of the biggest transportation disruption in over a century and many people are completely unaware of it.

    Same thing happened in the 70s. Detroit wouldn’t build small cars for less profit and the Japanese manufacturers met that need and put one of the big players (Chrysler) under. Ironic that today even the Japanese have fell into the same lull. Chinese manufacturers will be here to fill the need unless the US government stops them.

    • @woodrmp1
      @woodrmp1 3 місяці тому

      Do you really want to be driving around in a Chinese car? Even IF they are reliable (doubtful), they are probably using it to spy on you. Would you buy a car made in North Korea?

    Wonder how many new cars and trucks being bought are the lot Rot vehicles.

    • @user-mr1ku5iz8l
      @user-mr1ku5iz8l 3 місяці тому

      Any prospective car buyer needs to stipulate he receives a car that has not been on the lot for more than sixty days, and he will inspect the vehicle being purchased before signing the papers. If the car the dealership delivers to him is a 2023 then a significant discount will be required before he takes delivery.

    If automakers care about their sales and shareholders, they should start to lower MSRP's. Online shopping is where people start looking and MSRP's are still way high. People hate playing the rebate game and to try and time or wait for a better rebate is futile. That's it. Do that and the numbers will improve and your shareholders will be happy. My consulting invoice is on the way.
    Another reason sales are slumping is quality. Boeing has really brought this into the light and quality really needs to improve for this day and age. There is no excuse to have so many recalls in our automotive market. The last thing people want to do is buy a new overpriced piece of crap when the can do better quality at cheaper prices going used. Yes automakers, that's the reality of the market you have created. Let the reckoning begin.

    The auto market is not the same nor will it be the same as it use to be. People are driving less so the vehicles will last longer. As soon as you and others just come to accept that and move on from the past.
    In addition the auto industry messed up their buyers by charging over msrp. As a result they are more upside down than they had been in the industry.
    The pricing and margin with less vehicles is a good thing for the mfg. they are public companies and are in business to make as much money as possible for their shareholders. That is who they are responsible too and drives the share price up and give the shareholder a bigger dividend.
