It’s true! They filed chapter 11 bankruptcy (company reorganization) on Jan 14th and are looking to sell the brand.
Can we talk about the talent and artistry that it takes to use mediocre products and still end up with an absolutely stunning look? The matte shades Angie used in the second look tried to fail, but she made it work in spite of that. So incredible.
If I didn't have the Kaleidos Lunar Lavender palette, I'd probably get it. It's such a pretty color story.

I’m so happy you talked about settings! Since transitioning into a different space to film, I too have been trying to figure out my settings. And it’s annoying to me to not feel that my video is at its best because my lighting or sound is not where I want it. The growing pains! I love when you talk tech because It really isn’t just sitting down and doing makeup. You are putting on a production in a studio.

From this side of the camera, you and the eyeshadow look great, but then, you always look fantastic! As an older woman, I don’t mind having a “weaker” color. While I love the intensity of colors on someone your age and coloring, those intense colors can be overpowering on someone older. You always do a great job with color even when the palette is not up to your expectations.
I’m grateful for your pickiness with the amount that ColourPop releases; it definitely helps the rest of us navigate.

Both colour settings were so incredibly pleasing to watch! The cool lavender light in the background, the lavender eyeshadow, light green nails, deep green leaves, even the colours from your top in the first half! Fantasticcc combinations. OOOHHHH that first look is so stunning! I love the muted tones, and the eyeliner/lashes makes it so dramatic! That is definitely a perfect example of a "wearable" look for work or running errands during the day, then just put on the dramatic liner and lashes to go out for the evening. Gorgeous and so practical!

Hey Angie! Good to have you back :) as you mentioned, I too have found that there are different colourpop formulas and levels of quality. I thought the Mandalorian and the Child were both lacklustre and dusty but Lush Life was a knockout. The Plush Like Me palette was somewhere in the middle.
For a company that is in charge of their own formula, production and quality control, i find it odd that there are so many complete misses when they’re also capable of such hits. Why so many variables and differences in quality when they literally own their own factory? Weird!
Either way, love the looks (and the eyeliner is fab on you)

Your looks in this video are beautiful! Regarding your set up, the lighting for the second look is perfect, and the sound quality is much better in the first look.
Also, with Ulta it's worth opening their emails and/or getting the app because they often offer special multipliers for rewards points (ie 5x the points on a certain brand or category). They're the easiest way to build points quickly and get free stuff. The offers have to be activated, though. And only redeem your points in increments of 2000 because that's the maximum value per point (the more points you redeem at once the more they're worth).
Oh I wont be going with that sound though, its too sharp and echo’y, Im surprised you like it more actually :)
Oh, the hauls I have gotten from point multipliers on things I would have bought anyway!! I have scored big time. I buy at Ulta as much as I can for even everyday stuff like body wash and cotton swabs 😆 Very sound advice, love the app, only thing that stinks is not pics on the reviews
@@AngelicaNyqvist The sound was just too low for the 2nd look you did. I could barely hear it even with my sound turned all the way up. Maybe you can turn it up? And I agree with another comment on here about Southern floors having tile so adding a rug helps a lot with echo. Thx!

I kinda like the matte with glitter as lid shades sometimes, but keep em to a minimum 🙈

OOoo I like the purple light in the back to go with the palette theme! The lighting in the 2nd look is more like how we've seen your skin when you were back in your flat in Sweden. The sound is a little muted in the second look. We can still hear clearly, just that there was a clear difference in the audio between look 1 and look 2. Not sure which I can pick though. I'm sure you'll keep playing around with it in the next few videos till you find the perfect happy medium
Yeah but the sound in the 1st one was too high so maybe it wont be so bas when you dont get the super high sound before, we’ll see :)

You still did two beautiful looks!! I've been so back and fourth about this palette but I picked up the Orchid You Not based on how much you loved it and i truly love that one! So idk if I really need this one? But it's soo pretty. And I've been so back and fourth about the Lilac You A Lot came out and I never picked it up still but I feel like this is a good alternative to that palette idkk ugh lol. Pretty cool that you shared about the technical side of doing video. My husband and I used to make wedding videos. So many hours of editing. Sound was always a challenge. This one wedding place is right by a creek, so noisy but beautiful.

I'm glad you're back! I think the lighting in the second look was great, but the sound was a bit low compared to the first one.
The colour of your skin tone looks more true in the second look but the sound for the second look was a lot lower and almost muffled in some way. So glad you're back posting, we missed you!

That taupe (Thyst or That) shade gives me Rockhopper/Naaru vibes, at least on camera. Maybe that accounts for your affinity to it. I absolutely love Rockhopper & Naaru and they were actually my favorites in your palette. Ever since I added your palette with those two shades to my collection I am always on the look out for similar shades. But I haven't found any that have beat them out.
