Saw this man play with John McLaughlin’s trio. I have never been so amazed by pure musicianship like that from a group of musicians. I emerged from that concert a changed musician. Thank you Dominique!
I count Dipiazza among the uniquely creative technical/musical/stylistic bass guitar innovators; in the same ilk as Steve Bailey, Gary Willis, Richard Bona, Hadrein Feraud, & Vic Wooten’s of the world. Reinventing the way electric bass is being played, its role/function, and what is possible sonically..!
@@rafaeltakethel6605 Awesome. If I was you, I'd think about picking his brain one day regarding spiritual matters. I think he's got an interesting testimony if what a friend of mine told me many years ago is true.
mrkremko1 what is the problem of limiting the sonority of an instrument that a closed mind, it is even better that the bass expands its sound horizons because dominique develops it in a soloist environment, toxic comment
mrkremko1 oh sorry, but it's very stressful to see all this time, limit the freedom of the bass a bit, btw if you like dominique I recommend listening to Christian Gálvez was playing with dominique for a Time
@@TDB97 lol 😂 the bass has a roll and yes you can play piano and chords and show off on it. I think it he would be better off playing a guitar doing the thing he’s doing. Jaco couldn’t get a gig as a bassist nor could this guy. Just play bass and be happy with less note choices. The world isn’t gonna remember this shit they will remember the great bass, yes bass lines. Not bad guitar chords on bass…..
@@TDB97 ok corky😂have fun with wanking bass in your bedroom. Over Slap tapping and showing off isn’t art it’s all technique that is for show and nothing more. Nobody will remember the wanking. Even Victor Wooten says nobody hired him for bass and music, only for wank show off solos. So take a seat meathead.

I saw him with John. He was sensational. I also saw John with Jeff Berlin. That was rather good as well.

This video was a huge influence on me in 2005. It was uploaded to Google Video before UA-cam was a thing. This one is called "Little Rose"
my teacher :)
I went to see John Mc trio with Trilok Gurtu + ended up seeing Dominique too .. never before had I seen a bass man using the right hand like a guitar
Holy Sh!t. SMOKIN'
Bravooooo cher Dominique ❤❤💛🐦🙏

Amazing musician, but I wished that he slowed it bit a down. A bit blurry to my taste.

Sounds like a guitar half of the time

Crash89 I love Dominques playing, especially with the John McLaughlin trio. My statement here is just a simple observation

Well he is also tuned E to high C. He is incredible. Guitar or bass, he is all music.
sounds like a bass guitar
on dirait de la guitare espagnole ou manouche....
Et avec une basse ! Formidable , Dominique m'avait joué ce style dans une soirée chez un ami...époustouflant...
Es bajo no es guitarra
Tu es stupido
Does he realize he’s playing a bass not a flipping guitar???????
Do you realize that bass has no limits?

Might as well play spainish guitar
No pues ya mejor ejecutelo en la guitarra.
I'm sorry. But. There is a reason certain instruments are played a certain way. Namely; tone. Which is sorely lacking in this video.
The bass has infinity possibility thanks to these men
