Jesus, God's Bright Morning Star
Jesus beckons, “Come unto me, just as you are”,
You answer His call, “But Lord, unworthy I am.
My garments are filthy rags. I am but a sham”.
Jesus answered, “Look up and focus on the star”!
I asked Him why I should seek a celestial sight.
My eyes are clouded with tears of past sorrow.
I’m searching for rays of healing for tomorrow.
Shall I find hope in this star that shines so bright?
Jesus answered me, “I am man's light every day.
As I hung on the cross, legions of sin I battled.
Skies became dark as night as evil was shattered.
The prince of darkness fled as I lit a new way”.
Can hope for redemption be as easy as He did say?
I am happy to receive the promises of His word.
“Help me to ease burdens as I accept Your reward.”
I looked at my filthy rags, and began to pray,
Please help me Lord as I surrender myself to You.
Unshackle the chains that bind so I may be free.
Let Your light of salvation shine down o’er me.
Morning Star of Heaven, what a beautiful view!

Jesus is the bright morning star given to us by God, our Father in Heaven!
