You dont need to understand what Su is singing. With every single word she sang, you can feel the emotions in Su's voice and see it in her face . Another amazing thing is that she is still only 16 in this performance ❤

And after crying for a while, my soul is fulfilled by God's blessing.😀

I would have to agree with Kitkat6407 on this one. Su was actually not satisfied with her performance on this song at this concert. She felt she wasn't mature enough to do this song justice and convey the emotions she wanted to convey. It was at the Legend S show when she FINALLY felt she achieved her goal when she saw people in the crowd crying as she was singing the song.
In terms of amazing cinematography, you need to check out Babymetal's song Monochrome Live at PIA arena. You'll get a kick out of that one for sure.

as awesome as that was, can you believe that she was not satisfied with how she performed it, if she wasn't such a perfectionist, this song could have been on their first album, but the last 3 times it was performed Live, her emotion within it can bring the coldest metalhead to tears.

    • @poohbear4702

I recently saw Mori Sensei's speech at Su's graduation from SG. In the middle, he says this part about Su's perfectionism. Something like, "We want to see a Nakamoto who can give grace to herself; one who realizes even if she makes the slightest mistakes, she is still worthy of love." And she starts looking really seriously off into nowhere, holding back tears. I get the sense she's thinking a couple of things. First it was like, "yeah you're right... I could/should just be a normal person," and then it was like her face turned into a defiant... "I WILL NOT!" (Of course that's just my reading of her emotions at the time.)

A beautiful song that is even more meaningful live at Legend S Baptism XX 2017 SuMetal 20th birthday, but sadly is heavily blocked.
Either way this one is enjoyable as well another unique version live at Budokan 2021 when SuMetal "plays" the piano.🦊🤘🌈

When I heard thismfor the first time, BABYMETAL had already become my favourite band. And boy, was I glad to learn that they are able to touch me with an insanely beautiful ballad as well. I have yet to make it through this song without crying. If you are interested, check out the version from „Legend S“ as well. It’s even better than this, with Su showing some true emotion.

Excellent reaction ... and I couldn't agree more, BABYMETAL tick every box and no matter what your musical tastes and preferences they either have or will have a song that ticks that box and that you will love.
'No Rain, No Rainbow' is a rarity. Su first performed it at the Legend 1999 concert in June 2013 and has only performed it 6 more times since then - this was the Budokan Black Night in March 2014, so just the second time.
This song was clearly ready in plenty of time to be included on the first album - Su-metal was not ready for that to happen. She was not happy that she had the experience to express the feeling and emotion of the song at that time. She felt she was just singing the lyrics and concentrating on hitting the notes and that wasn't good enough for her, so she did not record it, it was not on the album.
Only when she saw people in the audience crying (probably at this concert) did she realise she could effect people emotionally and only after that was she prepared to record the song - it was on the second album.
The most emotional performance of 'No Rain, No Rainbow' is from Su's 20th birthday celebration Legend S in December 2017, but the Tokyo Dome and Budokan 2021 performances are also special in their own ways.
'No Rain, No Rainbow' is inspired by and pays homage to X Japan's song 'Endless Rain' ... Su and Moa got to perform that in a New Year's TV special with Yoshiki from X Japan, Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen and a handful of selected artists. You can find that on the official Queen channel - there is no way any reaction will not be blocked.

Su- changing lyrics, Yui pushing to premiere a song and so they tweaked the arrangement to work at the venue, Su- refusing to record a song...
This does not sound like Idols who are "just told what to do and say." How many things did we not hear about?

  • @road-runner
    @road-runner 9 місяців тому +10

    Great reaction as always, thanks!
You are totally right. And that is the reason why the fandom is so diverse and they are so easy to love... or hate. 😁
"NRNR" is a rare song and not only because it's a ballad. It has been performed live only seven times and this was just the second one (March 2014) after premiering in 2013.
Apparently, she wasn't happy with her performance because she was more focused on hitting the right notes than on conveying the emotions. To the point they didn't include the song on their first album (February 2014).
So, this was the 16 years old version of Su-metal performing the song perfectly. The 20 years old version of Su totally kills it and makes you cry. The Legend S version (2017) is considered the epitome of the live performances of the song.
    🤘🦊

A rap and rock fan music reactor Anthony Ray got me into BTS lol, highly recommend. BTS is known for their speciality in hip-hop since their rappers were former underground battle rappers and are also main songwriters/producers for the group. But their songs cover a lot of genres including more rock sounding songs, like Dionysus and Danger. Their award show performance 2019 MMA for Dionysus is mind blowing.
A lot of rock fans do end up loving their hip-hop songs too, so I'd also recommend Outro Tear, Ugh, Ddaeng, Born Singer, Baepsae. Their 3 rappers also have a very excellent solo work, I'd recommend starting out with Haegeum and Snooze by Agust D. Rock fans tend to like those.

Nice reaction. Moa said when Su sings it's like an angel came down. IMO Moa was trying to tell us something about Su. She really is an angel. She definitely got that Babymetal magic going on for this song. I hope you get to see the other times she's performed this song. Especially from Legend S and the 10 years of Babymetal shows. Mear words cannot describe the power of Su.

Thank you for your wonderful comment. Sumetal (16 years old at the time)'s singing ability is amazing, but the backing band ``Kami Band'' is made up of Japan's top musicians of each instrument. I think their technique is probably top class in the world. If you listen to other recordings from this time, you will understand how amazing it was. I hope you enjoy it.🤩
