these look amazing, complete simple and a modern take on racing flat. nothing extra needed. would love to see these without a carbon plate. in the Hyperion tempo update,
I don't see how any company prices a shoe to compete directly with the vaporfly at this point, even if it performs just as well. The only marketing advantage they can control is the price
I don't have any problems with the version 2 upper. Maybe because I was sort of between sizes and chose the larger one because it is a workout shoe after all. Hence, I wear it with thick socks. However, laces are way too long. I like that Brooks shoe for workouts on track and on mill because softer midsole can cause ankle pain in turns on track and some midsoles feel slow on mill but I wouldn't wear this shoe for races. There is a reason why one shoe reserve the fastest shoe for the race day.
Is there any arguments for using this over the RC elite V2 as a more forgiving/beginner friendly race day shoe? I’m having a hard time finding a reason to pick this shoe over any of the other carbon plated racers if it’s gonna cost $250 like the second version.
The $250 is a head scratcher, especially since a lot of Brooks shoes come in at $100-$120 range and this is significantly heavier and uses nitrogen-infused (not Pebax) foam
I doubt it, as previous versions were widely reviewed as being very firm underfoot. I think the RC Elite v2 remains the most approachable option for a forgiving race day shoe, followed maybe by the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite (which is also considerably cheaper than this thing). Realistically, studies have found that shoes like the RC Elite, Hyperion Elite v2 and Hoka Rocket/Carbon X series offer no statistically significant efficiency improvements over non-plated, non-super foam racing flats (and I'd be willing to bet it'd be the same for the HE v3), so I think you're better off saving a bunch of money by getting a more basic workout shoe like the Endorphin Speed, Rebel v2, or even something as basic as a lightweight trainer like the Rincon 3 for a marathon. If you gave me $250 and told me I have to run a marathon 2 days from now but have to buy a new shoe to do it, I'd likely just pick up the Endorphin Speed 1 on sale for like $130 and save the rest or get the Deviate Nitro Elite (if I could find it....) as those are approachable shoes that don't change up your mechanics much, and offer a bit more than a standard trainer without costing as much as the top-end racing shoes. The Alphafly/Vaporfly, Metaspeed Sky, and Adios Pro 2 would certainly be faster, but it'd be a big risk to get any of them if I only have 1 day to test them out as I won't have a chance to see how my body reacts to those shoes 2+ hours into a marathon. Shoes like the Hyperion Elite, RC Elite, or any of Hoka's plated shoes wouldn't even be in the running for consideration as none of them really seem to offer more than a lot of basic workout shoes, yet cost >$100 more.
@@rahelwijeyekoon9403 I agree with 99% of your post but the RC Elite does offer the benefits of the top-tier super shoes. The fuelcell foam that NB uses is a legitimate super foam based in PEBA like the Nike, Saucony, Adidas foams. At my undergrad we did a rudimentary study on several of the super shoes and the RC elite 2 was one of the most competitive in both perceived output and the actual data. I’d say that the top is Nike and Asics, then Adidas very close behind (the weight is the only thing that holds the Adios Pro back), then NB and Saucony closely behind Adidas. Hoka, Brooks, Craft, Mizuno, Etc offer no more than a traditional racing flat.
OMG, I’m excited about the G20-first time anticipating a Brooks new model in a long time. Please tell me it really does have that awesome foam prototyped in the Aurora BL and that it’s that much fun to run in. Martha
I’m disappointed to hear the midsole of the Hyperion Elite3 won’t be the DNA Flash 3 (I think that’s what it’s called) that was in the prototype Aurora BL. I’m psyched the Glycerin 20 which will have it, and I believe that comes out midsummer. It will also have 2 upper options to choose from.
Any word if they are going to make it any bigger than a US 13 this time? Otherwise kind of think what is the point of this other than to give the Brooks Beasts something to train in that they don't need to hide the logos like they did with the Dragonflys.
Hi believe in run and all the runners from 🇪🇸. Good preview of the fastest model brooks. Here my like. A nice day for everyone. 🌞🏃♂️🌞

"Keep talking, douchebags!" Robbe 😭
Can't see this shoe being a top super shoe. Too many other options out there, especially for $250. Dud

@@victortran9491 Exactly! Who really is going to say I'll take the Hyperion over the VaporFly for the same price? Brooks LOL
Their capping in the carbon plated shoes from brooks the elite 2 I’ve ran my pr mile of 4:40 in them and they felt great 💯
NEED a new higher stack Hyperion tempo w loft v3!!

Are brooks struggling to make a carbon plate racer just as Hoka? Their first 3 editions (Hyperion Elite & Carbon X) end up as long run trainer
They seem to be on parallel paths
So what is your favorite half marathon shoe??????

Was Thomas wearing the Glycerin 20 in the video?
Yes

Not as much fun as the BL but definitely a much better Brooks shoe than we're used to
When will these release? What about the Glycerin 20 with the new foam?

No word on the sizing
Are they updating the tempo?
2023
Did it drop any weight from v2
Gained weight 😕
The young buck had some reciveing skills. ROBBIE no pressure next time 🤣
Did you see the Kinvara vid???
Yes.. lol 😂
"and you are a clown" LMAO
Everyone’s so foam-focused if they just change the upper it’s like “meh”
Mill instant like
Wish they made these in a 14 🤦🏾♂️
You can always cut 2 inches off your feet...
Thomas, am I detecting a limp favoring your right side??? I hope you are ok.
Too much fluffing around. Better when you all sat around and discussed the shoes. 👍
yep
Don't like the filming on the street. I want to see the shoes, hear the review, and dont need all the commentary. Just my 2 cents
totally agree
