by far best sports atmosphere I've ever experienced-- and I've attended basically every single ball sport popular in America. The community atmosphere is insane. Many hate on it and call it "the Kool Aid", but it's legitimately just a close-knit moment of community and shared purpose that is an utter rarity in contemporary culture. And THAT is why we love sports.
As an Auburn fan who paid 400$ for a ticket it was well worth it. I was sitting behind the Auburn band. The timeout chants what I loved the most. Plus I met Franklin’s wife while I was headed to my gate.
"WE ARE"! Can't wait for the game. Looking for my senior grandson in front row again. He camps out for early games. He has been going to games since he was a baby. Now his 2 brothers and sister are there cheering from the stands.
Die-hard michigan wolverines season ticketholder here and I love our "maize out" but I'd love to experience a penn st white out. I hate that alot of season ticketholders for michigan are 1960s and 70s grads and they just sit there and don't make any noise. I'm sorry but I hate that. That's why penn state is louder despite a few thousand less people. The fans let loose and have fun. Michigan is stuck in the 70s with their old stuckup grads.
As a Penn State student this scene is the greatest in College Football. I mean when you walk in there as the opposing team your heads dialing 911. I like our chances every time its a Whiteout, because we have the talent to win, and the crowd is an extra boost. I'm interested to see how Ryan Day does at the Whiteout next year. The last time Ohio State played in a Whiteout, they still had Urban Meyer.
Iowa fan, who would absolutely love one day to go to a Penn State white out. Even if they're not playing my Hawkeyes... That seems like an absolute blast.
Hey you get your chance this year. Come to Happy Valley for the Iowa -PSU White Out. When or lose, it will be a great time! And Kinnick is on my list of places to see a game as well!

Hilarious that the White Out started in Winnipeg in 1987 but somehow this idea that goes back to 2003 at Penn State is being treated as some sort of groundbreaking venture.
Yes - as much as I love PSU and our White Out, it's important to give our proper dues to the original source. I think it's interesting that not only did they not mention Winnipeg, they left out the lawsuit involved and why we can only have 1 official WhiteOut a year.
That Sandusky thing happened how many years ago, dude...and it's still fresh in your mind? Wow....so have you been molested, or are you a molester? Everyone else moved on, but you haven't...that speaks volumes.
No it isn't... Just because the word white is in it doesn't mean it is racist... Fans of all races wear white during the whiteout... It has NOTHING to do with the color of your skin... It's what shirt you're wearing on that Saturday... I mean is it racist if a non white person wears a white shirt? No, it isn't. And you're dumb for thinking this idea

I was lucky enough to be at both the 2005 vs Ohio State game and the 2007 ND game. Both games were incredible.
Mike Poorman’s Comm 170 class! Easily one of favorite courses at Penn State!
I have been wearing white Tee Shirts to Penn State Games since the 70s ! So I started the White Out ! 😎 ✌
I gave Joe Paterno his first white t-shirt. I started the White Out 🤣🤣
Sandusky and Paterno used to give little boys their first pearl necklace, ahem I mean white shirt

I just got accepted to grad school at Penn State...im graduating from Kansas...Im in for a big change in football atmosphere this fall.
But you’ve had some practice in the Phog I’m assuming
NOTHING like the white out at Penn State!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I wonder if Paterno had anything to do with this? If so, I wonder if they intentionally are not mentioning his name.

4th largest in the world as well

Pretty much..considering they have to ask well now utah to use the term

excuse me the first white out was back in ancient Greek times, say the olympics.
Even if what you're saying is true...why would it be "hilarious"? Seriously, what is funny about that kind of suggested situation?
Penn state try’s to not mention paterno name acting like he isn’t the reason the program and the university is what it is today
In case you didn't know, Winnipeg started the tradition and Penn State "plagiarized" it.
What's Winnipeg's football team's mascot? I've never heard of them. Also, is their college actually in Winnipeg?
@@blueprince2330 Winnipeg is in canada. And you never heard of them because we dont have college football, and there are only university in canada
Hope home team is wearing all-white uniforms vs Aub otherwise it looks like a scrimmage game
If you’re referring to last years game in auburn…it looked more like scrimmage between starters and JV team lol
Booo! I think it's disgusting. It ruins the game. It's not good sportsmanship. Every home game is jaded, and quite possibly the best team doesn't win.
......isn't that the point of playing the game. The best team on paper isn't always the best in the field. 110,000 fans or not
This comment doesn't make sense.
You're right we should have no home games and play every single game at a neutral site 🤦
wdym this kind of croud makes college football
Shut up, dipshit. Why even have home fields then?
Penn State stole the Whiteout from the Winnipeg Jets of the NHL
Nobody talks about or cares about the Winnipeg Jets. Maybe if they were good. PSU has the best atmosphere in all of college sports
The whiteout existed before the Jets? By like 10 years lol
There was another version of the Winnipeg Jets from 1972-1996 they started the Whiteout
