Man i really needed this because most of the videos on this platform ive been seeing is full of people saying theres not enough money in the trucking buisness and its all indentured slavery blah blah blah. This video just reminded me that my goals are my gas and it all depends on my effort.(im 24 starting PAM transport😬 in february and i too want to be retired and finacially free atleast by my 40s these warehouse and retail jobs feel too dead end and im too smart to keep doing deadend crap!)

I thank you for this video as it brought me motivation to go and do my class 3 license and eventually do my class 1 when I get the money. But you have put hope into my mind. I currently work landscaping for 19 an hour and I'm encouraged to save my money and get into the trucking industry. Thanks a lot for your video the subscription has been clicked.

Good afternoon, Tyler! Happy New Year for 2024! This is an election year; the economy is better on election cycles by design. So, 2024 is an excellent time to start a trucking career. Your message of having a plan is spot on for success! Roll safe out there as you get back on the road again!

I'm not an o/o but worked for a local job for many years then I moved and took a couple local which sucked in pay then did a regional and would spend all week staying at truck stops doing 3 loads a week. Sometimes they'd send me somewhere where there's no truck stops that have any parking ever so I'd have to pay 15 dollars a day to park.

I'm 21 and my father has t cell lymphoma. I spent most of my time from the age of 17 taking care of him. He's made it clear to me that he doesn't want me to throw my life away. I think trucking is probably my best option with my GED. I thought about welding but I don't think I have enough math skill for that.
I'm hoping to do OTR for a few years to be able to buy some land and build a tiny house. Then pivot to a local company. I think it'll also be good because my father was a Trucker in the late 80s Early 90s.
Thanks for the advice. I genuinely appreciate it because I feel so lost.

Simple answer yes do it. Especially if you are young. Good money, you get to travel and see different parts of the country, and be your own boss. Dont listen to the haters yes it can be hard but every job is difficult in some way. If you can deal with being alone for long periods then you will be golden it beats office work and retail drama anyday.

If you take a break, it will be a lot harder to get back in. That gap in employment history will scare off most decent companies. Even though you will have experience, it wouldn't be considered "recent" experience. You would likely find yourself in a refresher class starting all over almost from scratch.
