Hey since you are local(ish) now and have been to Phidon... have you seen the Roterfaden books? I’ve been using them for years and love them. I also travel with my midori because my passports fit in it but I manly use the Roterfaden.
I have seen them only in passing but have never stopped to observe them! I'll be at Phidon Pens for an open house event on April 14 so I will check them out when I'm there!
I love that the notebook inserts have stitched bindings! I prefer lighter-weight paper (as in the TN inserts, or the Goulet Tomoe River notebooks in 68gsm - the 52gsm is a bit *too* lightweight, IMO) for carrying around, though.
Anzan Hoshin Roshi so it is possible as an example to use the journal insert from the travelers in one of these? I take one of the small travelers with their their really thin paper but I love the idea of the pocket here. I can see use there for both work notes and daily journal all in one place. Do these age well, I mean the canvas vs the leather of the travelers? Thanks for any feedback and your time.

Initially I didn't like the look of these, but the features-the pocket, waxed canvas, multiple elastics-make these notebooks very appealing.
The F-C paper is amazing! Enjoy.

How does the phone or pens fit in with all four inserts?
They fit but definitely need the elastic closure to keep it shut!

I am intrigued by this! Would that pocket happen to fit a hobonichi techo (A6)?
Nope. I just tried that in mine, and the pocket is much too small for that. My iPhone 8+ in a case totally fits, though.
