She had to submit this sonata to a jury panel under a male assumed name. Her friends didn't think that the judges would believe that a woman could have written such a fine work.

james, it doesn't exist male or female composer in the way that you can ricognize the gender when you listen to.... there are only persons who have talent, creativity and nothing else.....the rest is only our mind usuful to discriminate in terms of male or female for everything; it exists only music and the access to knowledge in order to liberate the own creativity if you have....in this way, yes men and women have been for a long time discriminated...
