HOW TO OMBRE WITH CHROME PIGMENT POWDER

In this video, I am going to do something that I don't think I have actually done on camera before. It's a very simple, easy, quick, and salon friendly technique. Some of you are probably wondering if I have gone mad, or I am just having a lazy day.
No, I haven't gone mad, honestly!! And I have no idea what a lazy day looks like as I never have a moment to be lazy. I honestly don't think I've ever done this before. Adam's memory is useless, you'd think at least he would remember for me.
So here is a how-to guide on doing an ombre with chrome pigment powders. you only need three products, Topcoat, a no-wipe topcoat, obviously, you're gonna use the Urban Graffiti Top Coat, aren't you!!
Then grab your two powders, add the first one around a third of the way down the nail, burnishing it nicely.
Then turn over your makeup sponge or get a fresh one and drag the pigment down. Then you do the same from the other end with the nail, with the other colour. Topcoat and cure, then repeat to get a good blend and coverage.
You could use a black gel polish base or any colour you like, but our Chrome PIgments are so good they just don't need a base.

What do you think of the new poly gel nails? I just had my first acrylic nails ever. They are wide, flat and no apex. I won't go back to that salon. I am thinking of learning to do my own.

Why not split the cost with one or two other friends then split the product? We used to do that when we first started cosmo school and didn't have a lot of money. And you don't need a lot of product. I shake the pot, tap it gently on it's bottom then use what is stuck to the lid of the pot. It's usually more than enough. Good luck and happy "nailing". 😊

I used Sensationail gel and chrome powders where you have to keep the sticky layer on; is this technique just for Naio products?
I’m just curious. If one would only do the second method you mentioned Kirsty, would it still end up as an ombre? Because a blend would work only when two colors meet isn’t it?

I think you might have better luck, if you look up other nail channels for product comparisons.
For example "Nail Career Education". Susie is promoting her school, not products and has done product comparisons. (Pro vs non-pro products, like e-files & Sally Hansen acrylic nail kit.)

I was just wondering if these chrome powders can be used with other gel polish brands? I use artistic colour gloss and always feel the chrome powders I use aren't any good and just wanted to try something new! Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks! Also love this look and technique!
Most no-wipe gel polishes work well. I use Bluesky no-wipe black and the chromes look brill. :)

Silly question but could you mix the copper and gold to do just the middle to blend ?
I was thinking of asking the same question. Would gently patting a little of each colour in the centre then the the individual colours where you want them (each end in this case) all over the nail, before burnishing from the centre out. Rubbing the pigment in before blending, doesn't seem to allow it to blend well with the other pigment before it bonds to the base? Would having both pigments laying loosely in the blended area before burnishing and blending into the more solid colours, give a smoother transition? I'll have to experiment and see I guess 🤔 Your techniques still gave you lovely results! I love watching your videos. Thank you for posting this video ❤

Hello from the US! I have a question...in this video, you use a tacky-free layer top coat. In a previous chrome powder video, you said to use a tacky layer, and wipe it off. Which method works the best?

What's the difference between chrome and metallic? Just that these chrome products are a powder and the others are a "gel?"
Yes, metallics are liquid whilst chromes are usually powders :)

I tried using naio nails no wipe top coat, and the holographic pigment but it wouldn't work? what did I do wrong? I ended up using naio nails base coat instead. or I use the black cure then leave the tacky layer n use that to apply the holographic pigment. hmmm🤔🤔
I've had this happen too, It just wouldn't stick at all! :(
I've found that it works if I do my base colour, wipe the tacky layer off and then apply the powder and top with a no wipe top coat and it seems to work really well! I prefer to just apply the powder with my finger too, I hate to see all the waste when using a brush 😂😂
Could you please try to cure the topcoat for about 10 to 15 seconds, and then rub the holographic powder into the Nail. Sometimes even that our pigments need to be rubbed in no sticky layer, our HOLO powder still needs some kind of tackiness.

Quick question: on the bottle in the video it says 60 seconds to cure in LED lamp, but the onscreen prompt says 30 seconds. I noticed you changed it recently. Which is the correct one? 😘
Colours are 30secs, the top coat and base coats are 60 secs. it was a mistake in the edit.
