What's SolarEdge's story with batteries and generator integration? I have a Energy Hub + Backup Interface, but it does not integrate with my Generac generator (as is advertised in the BUI documentation). I was told to wait for a firmware update, which after 1.5 years I updated, but the release notes don't show the BUI integrated to the generator, but instead wants a third party ATS added.
How long does it take the inverter to switch to island mode in case of a power cut? Is it in the order of the seconds or the miliseconds? Is it the same with and without the battery? Can it be improved somehow?
My installer is probably the largest solar edge distributor in Phoenix, they told me they do not install solar edge batteries !?!? When I asked if they would install a back interface, they told me they were not familiar with the product. 🤦🏻♂️ 9/22
Is one able to manually discharge battery TO GRID? There is a retail product with which homeowner pays wholesale consumption rates as they change during the day, and receive wholesale variable solar feed in tariff too.
I've been looking for a hybrid pv solar system for my house that accomplishes the following: 1. provides some power to the house when the grid is down so we can run our well pump and or heat pump, provides EV charging station from either solar panels or the grid, and provides an integrated capability to add a battery backup capability in the future (perhaps a year or so). What specific equipment would Solaredge have available currently to satisfy these capabilities?
We have a solar edge system with a Lg Chem 7kwh battery. (it is not a backup system) My question is, if we upgraded the system to a complete home energy hub system would it be possible to use the LG Battery with the 10Kwh solar edge battery as extra storage?
Well my SE system is so far not good. My solar system was installed Nov 2021. The installer took 3 months before it went live because they screwed up the install so permitting delayed it. I bought a battery delivered May 2023. It took to Oct to actually turn up to install. Since then the system does not work correctly. Now a replacement battery is sat outside my house waiting for the installer to fit it. I am not convinced the first battery is faulty as they cannot tell me what is wrong with it. The monitoring software has also not displayed the data such as import and export. I thought it was just lousy software but it seems that it was not configured correctly. Hopefully the installers will install this new battery 13Dec2023. As a retired computer consultant I think the software in the system is not configured correctly rather than a faulty battery.

I will be making the Span Smart Panel as a part of my coming SE Energy Hub Inverter+Backup Interface+EnergyBank ecosystem. Too bad you can't also support the SE Communications Gateway too, so that environmental sensors (e.g., ambient temperature + module temp + irradiance measurements) could be part of your ecosystem. (The Span takes up the RS-485 MODBUS master that would otherwise been used by the SE Comm Gateway.)
Hello Solar Edge, I am in the process of buying a system from sunrun. They are using SE10000H-USSN, BI-NUSGN-01, and BAT-10K1P. i have read all the manuals, spec sheets and watched this video. For some reason Sunrun is not installing the backup interface correctly. they are requiring homeowners to designate 8 loads and install subpanel for these loads. They are not installing the backup interface between the grid and 200A main panel. They are installing 60 breaker after the backup interface to the meter. They are also making customers install batteries upfront or they are not allowed to get the backup interface, they say it does not work without a battery. I would like to talk to someone from SolarEdge regarding these questions.
I note that the inverter is able to operate with the LG RESU prime batteries in addition to the SolarEdge proprietary batteries. My question is can a battery from LG and SolarEdge be installed and used together in the same system? If so can they be used through a single inverter, as a mix and match type scenario? Be aware.... it takes hours to get through to SolarEdge customer service!
DC coupled batteries are making more and more sense - once net metering expires, at least.

No access to Zappi charger in USA? Seems to be ahead of solar edge charger although understand this means separate monitoring through another app.

Storedge and LG Chem batteries are total junk! Why dont you make the LFPs available ? BYD and Huawei LFPs are light years better than yours...
