Wish he still made music like this but it's both fortunate and unfortunate that it's from a time when he was a completely different person than he is now
Here's what people don't understand about vocal presets. The dry version should sound amazing before any processing. No vocal preset can fix bad singing
Not true - even if the singing was okay! the producer can still make it sound amazing through autotune, pitch correction - of course its not advised because you won't be able to actually perform it live.
@balrajrai8071 that's not true...you add auto tune on bad singing n it's still going to sound like bad singing just with auto tune...for ex lil wayne how to love
@@G.LD. Bro I literally make music and have seen it in the live and flesh, I have seen a producer do it...turn horrible vocals in amazing sound vocals like man!
Honestly as a singer and a producer, this gives me a lot of confidence. Abel’s singing here isn’t perfect, and you can literally hear cars passing by in the background, but the song still turned out great! It’s honestly very reassuring and inspiring!
Abel voice here is very free and his mixed voice is very heady and clean, and you can hear he has experience… so if the pitch is a bit off and the tone is right and free the song will be fine anyway (example Beat it MJ)
yk I often listen to this acapella n every time I’m so damn amazed at how angelic his vocals are. like this is truly the most wonderful thing I’ve ever heard) he’s so talented I can’t
I remember flicking through the booklet of Take Care, looking at the writers credits - completely randomly - and I kept seeing this one name appear over and over again. The Weeknd. I was like damn, he literally credited on all my favourite songs, let me search him up and see if he has any solo material. Then I found the Trilogy. I was INSTANTLY hooked. I’d never heard anything like this before. He instantly became by favourite artist (alongside Drake, at the time - which was a huge feat I never thought possible) and I’d listen to him hours every single day. I remember literally telling my family and friends this guy is gonna be huge one day, obviously I’d never envisioned to these heights, but it was a magical experience finding someone so great with only thousands of views. It was like a dirty little secret before the world was about to find. Then songs like King Of The Fall dropped, and he started landing huge features with all the top artists - it was an amazing journey to witness.
@@LeonLindProductionsIt isn’t pitch correction, it’s a glitch in the audio file. Not saying Abel doesn’t use pitch correction he does and so does everyone else but this acapella is completely raw.
@@xoxoxo2261 I doubt it's a glitch in the audio file, since it's on the actual finished song, even the cleaned up Trilogy version. It's clearly intended to be there.
@@LeonLindProductions this isn’t the official acapella. this is an alternate take. you can tell because it cuts off at certain parts and when you line it up some parts don’t match.
@@xoxoxo2261 Hmm. Well the part with the glitch is in the official song at least. I noticed it years ago in the song and always wondered why the auto tune was so obvious there or if it was an effect or whatever. I waited to see if it was in this acapella too, and it was. But yeah I don't know for sure. That part sounded auto tuned or something to me, but other parts are slightly pitchy, like the last time he sings "what you need" in the song, so those parts clearly aren't pitch corrected. But then again, artists will sometimes pitch correct most of a song and then choose to not pitch correct certain parts of it to give it a raw or bleak feeling, like in Echoes of silence and The Birds part 2 where some of it is pitchy on purpose to show his desperation.
This is truly acapella💯 I’m digging around the archives for a TRUE Drake acapella and can’t find anything anywhere. Everything says acapella but is clearly artificially produced with auto-tune
This clearly isn't a raw/dry version, since you can hear pitch correction or some sort of robotic vocal effect after 1:51. This just seems to be someone that removed the reverb and music, since you can still hear the music in the background. This entire vocal recording is probably pitch corrected already.
@@dhyansajith5566 The robotic vocal is in both versions of the official song, even the cleaned up Trilogy version, in the exact same lines, so I think it's intended to be there, weirdly enough (it doesn't really fit imo). And if it's auto tuned as you say it might be, then it isn't "true acapella" as you also say it is..?
The amount of professional music critics in the comments is actually astounding. I bet y’all sound way better than the nxxxa who has half the world captivated by his voice, even acapella. 😂😂😂😂
This might be a tough question but does anyone know his origin of who he learned to sing from and what age? I read online that it was from someone highly regarded by the last name Anderson but I don’t know if that was after he got famous or his beginner years.
I don't think he recieved any vocal training before fame. the raw vocals here don't sound trained, and there is still some vocal issues here in this recording, like when he ends a note it kinda just falls off. He did recive vocal training duing fame though, and you can hear the difference from these days to now.

dude his voice is everything. people say he uses a lot of auto tune but.. it’s his natural voice. hes js that good
he doesnt even use alot of autotune its just a lot of reverb so it emulates the sound of him singing in a big room
he only uses a very small amount of autotune to make the vocals a little cleaner.
