Just a thought - if the dowels were left whole, or at least more than half, that would allow more room for the handle to swivel and so larger pieces could be held in place. Or the clamp could be used sort of backwards with the short end on the work piece for a stronger grip. I'm going to try it. in any case these are nice - better than the ones I've made before and actually less work. Good job!
Hi! I was wondering if running another slot perpendicular to the one you've got (on the clamping board) might be a good idea? I think I'd also make 2 or 3 of the clamping boards, one as long as 8 feet - also, is there any reason I couldn't make the slots the full length (and width) of the boards rather than having an exit/entry point? GREAT idea there!!!
Well done and really great design. I made a clamp for my star knobjig a while ago, but i wasn't happy with the design. This one looks a lot beter. This video inspire me to redo that clamp just like yours. Thanks man!
Bro. You are brilliant & your creative ideas are marvelous. Bro. I am no way connected with your kind of work, but I love watching your excellent creative work. Wish you all the very best
I think these are about 3 x too thick. Haven't tested it but just based on hunch, the clamping power of a 1/4" hold down is adequate. They just keep stuff from sliding around.
Hi . I want to ask you question. I own the band saw the same brand that I saw in the first part of the video, but when I want to cut the wood it does not cut straight, but I find the plate always rotates to the north .. Is there a solution

Nice, I've never seen 1 made 4 dovetails. What size bolt was that u were filing down? And the hell with the comments, u can use as much glue as ur little heart desires. :)
The Clamps are fine. M8 Screws can now be routed with T-Slot Bits. They are available from ENT. The only thing I need to complain about is using Gloves when working on rotating Tools, like Drillpress, Flex or much worse: Table Saw. Your fingers get cought much faster than you can react - and they`re off!!! Don't use Gloves on rotating tools! It's sooo dangerous!
So much work and cost,..just a simple. Bench hook fitted in ,( just 20 to 25mm hole , fit in and lock with a wooden wedge , clamp down onto your work piece of wood, and bingo ol bean...(make the hook in one piece like a gallows) English Mik...p
I've always made clamps like this but your design is much better. Thanks for the vid. and the plans.
Thank you
Thank you for showing how to make the clamps and for including the plans.
Thanks for the plans. I plan on making a couple next time I am in the shop. Looks very versatile.

You can search for double-sided tape.

Nice work and plan thank you...
nice strong clamp
Thank you...
Many thanks 🙏
The groove will be destroyed if there is no support above it. The bolts will pull the dovetail bolt right out of the dovetail groove
When you turn the star knob, what prevents the bolt from turning too?
Groove in wood
Thanks for this video.
Vou fazer!

Great design. I do have a question... Have you ever experimented with using toilet flange bolts?

some people do enjoy making tools what looks good and last long time - not everyone is cheep...
I'd rather google translate than silence.
