Easter comes from Ostara, Halloween from Samhain, midsummer from Lughnasadh. These pagan holidays were stolen to make conversion to Christianity easier on the general population, because to entirely erase the holiday would cause an uprise, so "just changing the name" would be more palatable. All because Caesar saw the Celts as a threat, and since ancient druids didn't believe in writing their knowledge down and rather teaching through oral traditions, the only way we have records of these folks is now through Caesar's propaganda against them

My 11 year old knows what grooming is, how it happens, how people lie to gain trust, how anyone can pretend to be someone else, and how easy it is to kidnap and murder someone. TEACH YOUR KIDS not just about strangers but that people they know online could groom and manipulate them and coerce them. We started these conversations by 8-9 years old.

@@yelhsasokolova8561 honestly I just started casually sprinkling in things, like when they’re playing a roblox game and talking about their friends online just saying, “just remember people can always lie, that could be a 50 year old creepy man pretending to be a kid”. Or watching a true crime show and saying “wow this kid thought they were talking to a teenager but it was actually an adult who convinced them to meet in the middle of the night and then kidnapped them.” It started like that way before we ever had a structured talk.

@@brightstars_quest it was a tough conversation….telling your child that grooming starts as a friendship but may turn into asking for pictures of your body or in your underwear…it’s uncomfortable but if you don’t tell a kid specifically what to look out for, then how would they ever know? They're at home, I supervise their online use, the 2 family/kids PCs have always been in the den, & the other in the breakfast nook, out in the open. I pay the cell phone bills, & can see who they are calling, or who's calling them. But I don't have to worry about it, because my kids are educated to the dangers of such things- BY ME. Fireproof is also awful. Kirk Cameron cant stop watching porn so trashes his monitor instead of the actual computer.
Theres also a scene where he kisses his wife but Kirk will only kiss his actual wife, so they shot their kiss where they stand in shadows so Kirk's actual wife could kiss him instead of the actress lol.
It also has a companion marriage book to go with it.
War Room is also absolutely unhinged. All these movies are.

Actually as a pagan, that guy in the car with the awful Christmas trailer, was actually right and I was surprised. Christmas was originally a pagan holiday. We have what is called Yule, the winter solstice. It is the rebirth of the sun god, Yuletide.

I'm in my mid-40s, so I grew up watching Kirk Cameron in Growing Pains. I thought he was a shitty actor back then, and it doesn't look like he's gotten any better. I never would have thought he would have a career acting decades later. I guess Christian movies have lower standards than real movies.
