On a more serious note, though, a lot of recent research has been showing that people of high intelligence are much more likely to make stupid mistakes and bad life choices more often than people of average intelligence. Try Googling something like "why smart people make more stupid mistakes."
      Apparently, some of it has to do with preserving strong, complex rationalizations for erroneous ideas over simple truths, allowing childish and naive notions to be protected much longer than they normally would be. Being rewarded for intelligence can also, apparently, feed into an "error of being right," a tendency for intellectual success to make one more overconfident and less likely to have learned to properly doubt their own answers and logic. It's also associated with a difficulty trusting other people's logic, making it that much harder for anyone else to help them when they make a mistake.

    There is an interesting reason most people hate hearing recordings of themselves. When you are in the middle of speaking your own ears can pick up the minor vibrations of your mouth and bones. But a recording lacks these sounds, resulting in people assuming they sound wrong.

    I hate hearing my own voice but you honestly get use to it pretty quickly. Like in a hour or two. If you then keep hearing it at least an hour a day you'll just get numb to it.
