congrats, you bought MY bike; well, the same bike. I have an '06 shadow 750 Aero that only had 38,800 kms on it. Bought it in July '23, put on about 2500Kms so far (all city, waiting for spring/summer '24 to do a road trip). I have done NOTHING to the bike (out side of new tires), not even an oil change (prev. owner did oil/filter before selling it). I live on Vancouver Island, BC. Been riding all winter except for 1 week when I couldn't get out of the drive way (thanks city counsel for plowing tons of snow across my driveway). So far, I have nothing bad to say about the shadow; for what it is, a MID sized cruiser. Mine came with a crap load of extras (TOO MANY to list). Essentially, I bought C$4000 (not what I paid for the bike) of aftermarket add ons and got a FREE bike to hold them all. I count this bike as a blessing for the trouble free riding I've been doing for 6 months. I always expect to put a few $100's into any used vehicle (I don't count maintenance, but 'fixes' to make a vehicle reliable). I'm amazed at the condition and reliability I've been so lucky to acquire. Hope you have the same experience with your's.
Loud pipes don't have much of an effect saving lives. Safety courses, refraining from drinking and riding, and following the speed limit will do far more to save you from "having to lay 'er down". I ride as if I am invisible and if they do see me they are trying to hit me. It has saved me far more than my loud pipes ever will.
Turn key reliability is such an underrated part of the enthusiast experience. Not something we often end up with 😅 well done getting a steal, hopefully some good comes with any choice here forward!
I bought an '09 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 earlier this year, cobra pipes, windscreen, highway bars, pillion and sissy bar, only 4k miles and I got it for $2500 US. Buy it, you'll love it. As for the noise, I love it. When on the road around all these cagers that don't even see us, I want to be heard. I always ride with earplugs and wouldn't want to be on a quiet bike.
😮 it scared Garfield the cat!😂 I can tell your cat loves 💕😊, you, don't change the pipes! that way they know you're coming! And get out of your way! 😜🏍️🙏
I have a 2007 Honda Shadow VT750 Aero that is all stock; also black and chrome like yours. It had 11k miles when I bought it. I’m fine with the noise level of the OEM exhaust. More important, it is an absolutely reliable and well behaved machine. A bit of tuning the rear shock preload for my weight and the saddle bags and it sits well, takes off level, and tracks stable at Highway speeds. Shadows are great machines.
ihave the ace 2003 .. i love that shadows 🥰 but as always " bigger is better " like the vtx adorable.. and i am from the group of loud pipes choices . the best thing for load pipes is that any neighborhood you pass through its just like you say i am here again M.Frs 😂
I just bought a 2008, under 11,000km , it sat for 5 years, pristine condition for $1,000 So excited to ride it in the spring!! Our season is pretty much done this year
I have Vance and Hines on my Kawasaki Vulcan 900, though not that short. What I did was pull out the baffles and wrap them in exhaust insulation, tied on with stainless steel wire. That hardly costs anything and calmed it down so less clackety and more low rumble. It’s still pretty loud though.
Thanks for the tip! I thought of doing that but I'm not sure if I can wrap insulation on the outside of the baffle. It's basically a straight pipe, so I'll need to put insulation on the inside.
I just bought the same shadow bike 2003 a few weeks ago but with stock exhaust boy are you right about the sound of these pipes I'm not sure I would have bought it with the same exhaust. I get your dilemma.
I wouldn't consider the pipes "obnoxious"... atleast through UA-cam, they sound tame. Cruisers and loud pipes go together... not judging, but you might like an electric bike better, no noise to worry about.
honestly, i think it really depends on the weight of the bike as well. I have ridden a few 650s and 750s which are lighter and feel a lot more powerful than the shadow. @@waatao9856
Hi Alan do you have an update? Did you change anything? How is riding the Shadow so far? I also want to buy a shadow as my first bike. Greetings from the Netherlands (Europe).

Loud pipes saves lives.👍🏻
And even wake the dead 🔥😅 which is cool
Loud pipes destroy your hearing.☹️
@@mattdonna9677 bro I'm used to it but I understand everyone have a different taste
@@mattdonna9677 Lets not forget ear protection, I mean, it is 2024.🤦🏼♀️

I was able to trade exhausts with my local dealer. Worth a shot

Totally add the 120.00 baffles..
Nice bike ! good price!😊👍🏍️

Finally! Someone who gets where I'm coming from! Lol
I have a shadow 750 and I like it just enough power
As far as the pipes go that standard issue for the USA😊
Yeah... not for me! Lol
I have a2013 Honda shadow phantom with stock exhaust and looking for the V&H. I’ll trade you.
Put a set of Cobra long pipes on it.
Lyle pipes truly it lets other drivers know that
Im in the states(Chicago) and would love to buy the VH exhaust off of you. Id imagine that shipping is outrageous though.
hey!
Unfortunately the shipping will make us both broke!

Maybe it's just my taste.
I do love a good exhaust note, watch my videos with the KZ440!
Wait didnt you sell one before?
Is this a new one
Nah, this is the one I sold!
