Blood swamps is in the dlc for doom eternal. I believe the ancient gods part 1. Fun fact andrew hulshult is the composer and has been a massive doom fan for years and after the unfortunate issues between mick Gordon and Bethesda they brought him on and was super excited to be a part of it all as a dream come true
Good for him!!
Hopefully they actually treat him right
Was moreso with ID's higher ups than bethesda's
@@sirbirbton After what they did to mick I doubt that
how bittersweet
I love how the riff has this like bubbling, sinking feel to it like it's spewing out of an actual fucking swamp or something...
You can tell it's not Mick, but it still kills. That drop with all those build ups comes down like a hammer, The chanting, and the atmosphere are all really so solid and the vibe is strong. I think I'll always prefer Mick Gordan's works, but these help me appreciate Andrew's work and how it's different, but still fitting.
Ah cool! Glad ya dug it!
My god Andrew is here! You really made bangers in the DOOM Dlc's and DUSK soundtrack (not forgetting your remasters of DOOM I and II)
Keep doing bangers Andrew! 🤘🤘🤘
The fact that The Doom Slayer himself commented on this guy's post.
@@ChrisMaverick1225Doom Slayer is confirmed gamer.
@@ChrisMaverick1225 its confirmed he listens to this while fighting
@@-DoomSlayerDon't forget about the soundtrack for Nightmare Reaper
While this isn't Mick Gordon, this is DEFINITELY Doom
I’m glad you used Koma’s rip, because it’s fantastic. He’s a pillar of the DOOM community. The Blood Swamps as a track is phenomenal too. It’s a thrashy departure from Mick’s groovy djent
Too bad he deleted his channel :(
@@JoshuaNguyen-se4qf
It was entirely to avoid UA-cam’s bullshit, and I sympathise with it
Googling “Koma Archive” can yield results.
@@The_Dinosaur_Heretic At least he gave us chance to save the rips
I swear Doom soundtrack makes everything more pumped, I've tried cutting it over footage of me electric skateboarding just as a personal experiment and even that feels 1000 times more nailbiting. (and surfing on roads at over 25mph is wild to begin with.)
Love the way you analyse these tracks though, you clearly know your stuff ridiculously well, feel like you're running out of the more unique ones but there's still plenty of this stuff you could go through. Keep them coming!
thank you!!
Yussssss Blood Swamps! Love this song, always gets me hyped up when I need a mental boost
While the production is not on mighty Mick's level, it's still darned good and the vibe of this track and all its stems has made it my favourite Doom track ever.
When it comes to games like DOOM, music can tie in perfectly with elements that you could have never seen coming, After finding the lore of the Slayer, the music has a new feel to it, almost like you feel the same rage and spite the he feels. This always interests me because of the way all of it ties in so nicely, even when such small details are blown wide open by details of a similar nature, something to think about
Great content, keep it up 👍
Very very true I think andrews work is going to cater to the medieval theme very well, one opportunity leaves and another comes, it’ll be hard for Andrew to live up to the hype of mick but no doubt hes gonna do a good job
This is why I love the old 90-eaely 2000s arcade shooter games.
Pure Metal baby!!!!
Another thing to take note of regarding the sudden changes in these doom eternal tracks is they've more than likely been grabbed from the WWISE-files. Meaning the different parts we're hearing are from different in-game states. Like not in combat, in combat, scripted story events, and so on - all from different areas of the map.
Another awesome reaction! The thing you said about this being a great tempo is so true...you can go half time for really chill ambience, a 4 on the floor groove to build, more of a shuffle groove for more energetic moments, 3 over 4 to mess with the pulse...it all works. The section at 8:43 reminds me of the Farscape TV show theme!
Love the Blood Swamps! Always gets me hyped up, and I loved hearing it playing through the Ancient Gods Part One DLC in DOOM Eternal.
Could you react to Rust, Dust, and Guts from the DOOM 2016 soundtrack next?
I'll add it to the list!! ty for the rec!
It so awesome hearing you verbalise why I enjoy those sections of the tune
Education via awesome tunes, I'm wasted at a house party and this is my pill of normal before I go back into their trance tech tunes
yesss!! huge fan of hulshult's work in the doom soundtrack as well as in the DUSK OST. there was another composer that made tracks for the TAG soundtrack. David Levy, UAC Atlantica and The Trial of Maligog are certified bangers!
And Immora too. Probably the hardest hitting track in the whole game imo
😎
Eyy, I reuploaded that mix made by a user named Koma!
Glad to see it thrive
I recommend UAC Atlantica by David Levy. It's the track that plays for the mission before this one in DOOM Eternal's first dlc. There is a recent mix on youtube made by Anecro that is pretty good, or you can go with the Koma rip as you did for this one.
Nice industrial vibes in this song. Definitely some NIN in there. I like it!
yess
highly recommend giving some of the DUSK ost a listen - murder machine inc, keepers of the gate, and departure to destruction are great.
production-wise, they're not as complex as hulshult's work on the doom ost, but when you see what type of game DUSK is, i think it's cool as hell. it's a super retro, simplistic, old-doom-esque game, so the soundtrack is like 80% of the experience, and its songs are HEAVY.
Like other commenters have said, this comes from the soundtrack for the first DLC for Eternal, specifically the second level. Gameplay context is important here to get why the music isn't as, say, intense as some of the other tracks.
Throughout the main game of Eternal, you are constantly upgrading your arsenal of weapons and abilities and taking on many threats in larger encounters. The game is constantly teaching you the optimal way to play, and if it clicks for you you will just clean house and enjoy the ride. The director for Eternal, Hugo Martin, described the experience of being in the zone when playing Eternal as "driving a Formula 1 car" and you absolutely feel it. The game on its highest difficulties is so intense, you're just making so many decisions so quickly and if you slip up once or twice it could mean certain death. The enemies do NOT fuck around. But as a player, as the Slayer, neither do you. By the time you get to the end of the game, you're fully upgraded and have multiple weapons that can decimate even the largest of foes.
So in the DLC, how do you build upon this experience gameplay-wise while having the music fit? Well the level this track is featured in is quite free form to navigate but also introduced some new enemies that significantly up the ante. When it launched, you could round a corner and be caught completely off guard right as the main riff of this track kicks in and you don't have time to prepare, you just have to act. The expansions do so much to test just how good you are at the game, and on launch it was so difficult (they've updated it since to be more balanced, but I kinda miss having my ass handed to me). You ended up being in this level for hours on the hardest difficulty, and the music isn't too overwhelming so as to not exhaust players from an audio standpoint or to hinder them from being able to think and make effective combat decisions on the fly. The fights in this level are also in quite narrow spaces, and in Eternal movement is key otherwise you die, so there's an added challenge there as well.
Like this track is no Meathook or The Only Thing They Fear Is You, but in context it's a perfect fit and basically sounds like Metallica meets Doom. Love it for that.
ok ok, "reclaimed earth" next. One of the all time best tracks from the doom eternal dlc. Especially the 5 minute in drop.
Can’t believe the composer for this is gonna be Markipliers music producer for IRON LUNG
If you loved this, you're going to love the Prodeus soundtrack! It's also composed and produced by Andrew Hulshult (composer and producer of this song.) I highly recommend Cables and Chaos, Syn Thy Tech, and Dystopian Dimension.
Blood Swamps is one of the most brutal levels of DOOM Eternal, and the soundtrack is absolutely adequated for it.
Lady if you like Andrew's stuff, I recommend DUSK for more metal madness. Try the theme, then go for tracks like Erebus Reaction, Hand Cannon, Keepers of the Gate, Burn in Hell, Departure to Destruction. It's a small fraction of the game's soundtrack but you can find a video of the whole thing with mesmerizing visuals on UA-cam
Its not Mick Gordan but it feels so much more cinematic then what Mick does, like its telling an epic story that is building up rather then just meat being grinded into a bloody slushy with Mick.
i know what you were thinking at minute 1:59... i mean, it never ending to explode that really nice build
by the way, doom eternal's soundtrack is adaptive. Every piece you hear, has its own moment. Even different riffs will play depending on encounters. Do UAC Atlantica Facility next!
I would love to see you react to DUSK's soundtrack , made by Andrew Hulshult . The best imo being Burn In Hell and Keepers Of The Gate's . I really like ur videos , keep it up!
I recommend heavily also from the DLC, The Trial of Maligog and Immora.
'Blood Swamps' is The Ancient Gods' 'The Only Thing They Fear Is You'
Consider the trial of maligog which comes right after this track as you progress in-game. Very drum heavy.
As always the koma mix is ungodly.
you should totally do rise of the triad if you like this composer, its pretty rock opera-ish
Love mick Gordon but this is my favorite level soundtrack easily
You NEED NEED to check out all of the music from the game Hollow Knight. It's all by Christopher Larken which says enough but it's absolutely so much fun. I love them all, but I love "The Grimm Troupe" the most.
love HK!! I played it on stream a year or so ago, love getting recommended it because it's an all-time fav!
@@emyoung I'm both so happy that you've experienced it and sad that I don't get to see you react to it for your first time.
Would you ever consider listing to the Metal Gear Rising soundtrack at all? It's a 2013 game and the music is directed my Jamie Christopherson and has has become popular alongside Bury the Light.
If you could do Mordremoth from the Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns soundtrack it would make my whole year! Its a very tribal sounding track and I've never seen it covered on youtube before.
rust dust and guts is my favorite piece by mick gordon
Can't wait for you to get to Immora, shit sounds like and MG42 found a guitar and proceeds to piss it off or something at " T H E B I T". I'd recommend Geoffrey Day's (Geoffplaysguitar) doom eternal remakes or covers or whatever for songs, Slayers Paradise, Radagon of the Golden Order and Gourmet Race are my faves from him. Geoffs stuff slaps hard too 🥵😊
Reclaimed Earth
I would really like to know what you think about Argent Tower Ambient from DOOM 2016. It is my favorite track.
Great video! You should check out the DUSK soundtrack composed by Andrew Hulshult. It's filled with awesome tracks
Band recommendation, ReflectionsMN. similar sound and crazy skilled.
I think that this life isn't fair. It's not fair!
Would love to hear your reaction to Narwhal and Sie liebten sich beide; both from the Punishing: Gray Raven OST.
we missed u
I have two recommendations. Since you've done destiny music before. Look up, "Last Wish Vault theme" it doesn't really have a name I can easily find. the other is the "Soul of Cinder" theme from Dark Souls 3
Hello! Maybe can you check Hand Cannon from Dusk game? It's music is from Andrew Hulshult too :D Dusk is oldschool shooter like DOOM :)
Hulshult reeeally likes triplets... and he's not alone 😏
Reclaimed earth
Listen to Doom eternal: Atlantica so underrated 😮
🔥🔥🔥
What music have you produced?
You should enjoy "zombie army 4" soundtrack. The whole thing is great with quality uploads on offical publisher "rebelion" youtube channel. My top 2 are "music track 12-at a time like this" combat version and "music track 8 - destroy the brain or remove the head (full version)"
Its very underrated cooperative third person shooter but i enjoyed it a lot in solo play. with great mechanics. I did not had that much fun in zombie game since left 4 dead.
I am new here but you make great content. Other recomendations ofc all supergiant games music from hades, transistor, bastion, pyre. Austin wintory remnants album. Witcher 3 soundtrack by marcin przybylowicz.
Edit. And reaction for hotline miami soundtrack would be amazing
2:42 tf was that
hahha my twitch follow alert is a very cursed NPC sound from Bloodborne
@@emyoung lmao, got me confused for a second, had to take my headphones off to make sure no one was dying
Bury.the.light.DMC 5.
All that needs said
already up!!!
This is actually the first time I listen to this track aswell, and from a Mick's tracks perspective, I feel like Mick's tracks you can enjoy better outside the game too, so Andrew aparently made the music to be played with the game, and Mick did both. idk, Mick has a signature sign in his track that is the "industrial/eletric" sounds to It, besides the 8 guitar string, so yeah... Andrew doesn't seem TO ME, very creative with his identity as Mick, nonetheless he did good with this soundtrack for the dlc, I liked very much the last section in 10:40
Does she stream on twitch or something else?
yes! emyoungmusic on twitch - most of these reactions happen live there during streams when viewers request them! also play a lot of games
If you haven't played the game yet
u've to play it
i plan to!!
More Doom:)
React to PT-1x12 by mick gordan and Geoffrey day they fucking killed it.
I played differently to this. The mix was off and made my head feel full and distracted me from slaying. Mick was missed sorely. Too much sub 40 - 70hz. Started playing walking on sunshine by katrina and the waves and completed it. Nothing special about mud.
Yeah Twitch should stop muting music, it is one of their bad habits wich cost them the title of the Number 1 streaming platform.
✊😈🔥❤️
🤘😎🤘
I request Skullhacker
I enjoy your face. It's so refined, symmetrical, like from a sculpture. Kind of royal beauty.
And talking about soundtracks - you can check Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus Ex. Both have interesting and decent examples.
Hello, I'm not sure if you have heard or played Undertale, but Toby Fox has made some amazing musical pieces. They aren't as orchestratal as most of the songs you have reated to, but I would love to see your reactions to the boss music. Or if you play through the game, it definitely adds some much needed context to the songs, but it is a bit of a long game. Either way, I would love to see your reactions.
Alright fine, enough of your videos have caught my attention- here’s your sub
React to Demon's Souls Remake OST - Maiden Astraea TRUST ME!🔥
LOVE fromsoftware scores, hoping to do more Demon's Souls reactions soon!
Listen to Damnnation, also by Mick Gordon. Has a lot of choir-type vocals
ive been watching a few of these recently, new to your channel. just wanted to say the ratio of volume between you and the songs is just a bit off. its not terrible but youre a bit too loud compared to the music itself, which i get the choice but again the ratio is just a bit off. i generally hafta turn the volume all the way up to hear the music properly but then your voice is too loud
Mick Gordon is better, but they did alright.
