This guy is the real deal. You make the best logging videos on UA-cam, and I watch a lot of logging videos. It won’t be long and this channel is gonna blow up. I like how you explain things and get the camera up close and show exactly what you are doing. Stay safe and good luck. Can’t wait for the next one.
I can remember when I was about 10 years old. I started helping a guy down the road from me. His name was Hoyt Craig. He was clearing land. So I started helping him. And he asked me how that I would like to start helping him cut firewood. I said yes that would be great. So it got into my blood. And now I'm 51 years old and still cutting it. I tried other things but kept going back to firewood. I've worked at a sawmill for about 5 years. But went back to firewood. I guess that I'll be cutting firewood until it's my time to leave this world. Gotta love it
New subscriber here from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦. I love cutting wood seasonal and logs at times. Been at it for 35 years. Miss the days with my father when I was young.
We accidentally got into logging as a business as well but you’re right, it gets in your blood! You are a great representative for the logging industry! Keep up good work!!
It's nice to see a man that takes pride in his work. I always told my sons find out what you enjoy doing and find a way to make a living at it. Logging is hard work but very enjoyable.
Chains on rear would make a world of difference. I'm a fan of the single diamond u grip chains. Nice skidder too even though it's got the noisy Detroit
good job and I like the way you don't hang around when the tree is falling . My wife never liked me in the woods alone but I never took chances . An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I also stared out at a young age. Bought my first cable skidder at 19. Later made a move to a forwarder at 21. And from there on to harvesters. Was a good run. Now at 51 years old I just enjoy going to the woods with my saw and little two cord forwarder. Such a good life if you can get it. Great video!
Well said, and well done! I used to perform Pre-Commercial Thinning Contracts in Colorado in my younger years, which taught me a lot. Am in my 30th year of processing and selling hardwood firewood in my spare time as a side hustle, which I love doing. As you said, a talent being put to use to help others. Just found your channel and subscribed, take good care! - Keith from Middle Class Renaissance
I agree 💯 that we should all do our love and follow our calling. I have done firewood my whole life and full time with a legit business since 2016 and I can't imagine doing anything different. It's hard honest work that just plain makes me happy.berry glad I found your channel as I like your views.

Thanks for the subscription! Great to hear you’ve been at it so long. Those memories are something to always cherish. Have a wonderful New Year
I notice the trees fall gently and stay put in relation to the stump and do not bounce all over with your bore cutting technique. Good job!👍
Great thing to notice. Thank you!
Some great cuts right there !
And You are right that working in the forest gets in your blood-nothing else comes close to it.

Yes they do. One day I’ll have chains on the back of it. That Detroit is pretty sentimental to me. Love that ol girl.
