- Using Fallout 4 to make machinima is an absolute nightmare, and this certainly gets to the crux of why. Keep in mind my game is heavily modded and most of these nightmarish moments are not Fallout 4’s fault as such (though some of them definitely are).

Hugely inspired by HBomberGuy. I did not copy or steal any jokes, just enjoyed his style of comedy mixed with genuine critiquing of Bethesda and the Fallout in general.
This is a new style of video for me, the fact that this video is about Fallout 4 is just to get me started doing commentary, I will most like commentate other games in this style very soon. I really enjoyed making this and explaining why I sometimes find Fallout 4 an absolute nightmare!
This video is a collection of all the annoyances I have collected while hugely altering (and modding) Fallout 4 to become a platform for machinima and storytelling. I use mod manager to manage all my Fallout 4 mods, this is mainly because nexus mods is also an absolute nightmare too. - Ігри

I had that problem as well with YUP in FNV. least I thought it was YUP, it was the only mod that seemed to cause it for me when installed. Must be something in the conflicts or mods changing the facial color to the lightest shade of white

-The first load of a save after you've just started up the game is different somehow, causing things to spawn under a hypothetical floating stadium
-Guns shoot sideways when in TFC
-You can't effectively save in TFC because the sound will be faded when you load back into it

-Some companions can't die even with "killable NPCs" etc enabled
-With enough sound sources, sometimes the sound just completely breaks and you'll have to restart the game

While I like complaining about things just as much as the next guy. These are problems for an extremely small group of fallout players. I am still very much happy that Bethesda games are some of the few that still have a console allowing you to play around with the game. I know it's cool to hate on Bethesda now, but limit it to where it's deserved.

I constructed the modlist around the pilgrim shader FX that was really popular a few months ago, and it's constantly survival mode
I have over 360+ mods, but I spent over 500 hours perfecting it, the result
No crashes, constant fun
But everytime I move to a different tileset, or when I walk over the magic invisible boundary lines between areas, I get 2-3 minutes at the worst, of the game having to recall every single object in the area I've just entered, and if I were to walk backwards, the same

Since Bethesda games feature grounded moral choices to be black or White no grey area, I think they're biased against the grey community.
ManBitesDog I think Fallout 4 is grey enough. A lot of factions or characters have flaws or misunderstood. Such as the cannibal or serial killer that makes art out of blood and guts but only kills raiders for it. How good or bad of the choices you make should be up to you, however.
Agree enough about the actors you meet, but for my taste, I feel really grey when it comes to being the savior of the commonwealth everyone wants me to be. But it's really either do what everyone askes of me, or go sit on my hands.
The closest I was able to come to being my own person was back in the beginning where you first meet Preston and his group. He told me his little plan, and I was like I'm out!. Knowing there was only just one way to complete the quest line, but at least I found the fusion core on my own and took it back to him, and was like, ok look at what I found here. may as well get me a suite of PA. But it 's a far cry from FONV where in the first act, you can complete the quest in the town of Goodsprings in a few very different ways. That kind of player agency is what gave that game a special kind of life to it, that in comparison, makes FO4's writing and quest lines feel as rigid and stiff as a board.
But I myself had no expectations Beth was going to make it anything like that. I knew they would continue to place less and less emphasis on story and writing, so no sour grapes from me. I got exactly what I expected from a Bethesda game, and enjoyed and still enjoy my time with FO4. I can still enjoy something even if the games aren't the best in the series. And you won't find me crying on every FO4 video about how it's garbage bc it's not as good as previous games.
/But it's certainly black or white choices and consequences. You either white knight through the wasteland or you sit on your ass until you take he quest and do exactly what everyone tells you to do.
ManBitesDog Well yeah, feeling grey no matter what position you are in should be reasonable enough.
Well, Bethesda at least got rid of the Karma system, so it is harder to know what you are doing is good or what you are doing is bad in the big picture of things. I think the Karma system made things more black and white in past games, so I think fallout in general is becoming more progressively grey (or at least more morally fluid) by this case.
But yeah it's now matter of perspective imo, it's that most people choose to think this or that decision is the best and therefore "obviously" good.

Although it's a lot better if you literally stand on the space next to a sectoid, causing your soldier to stick the gun INTO the sectoids head, with a 65% hit chance. AMAZING shooters this last line of defense for humanity

Probably not all that many. All he would have to do is reload a bunch of times until brown face happened, then it would just be a matter of getting the right animation from there on.
Probably like farming for a specific gear drop with a specific legendary effect. (btw I really hate the legendary system)
I doubt it took any extra takes at all. He likely used this as an example because he already had the footage from trying to get a good take of the scene for the video that originally required it.

Yeah, the brown face glitch has happened to me numerous times, so it is probably them trying to compensate for the lighting which could be due to two different lighting changes happening suddenly or having to very different lighting option almost meshed together.

If you want to move heavy objects like huge dead bodies and explosive cars then drop an object that is about the size of a minigun and use it to push around or move whatever object you want. You can move a brahmin the same way aswell.

I hate the blacking up bug, I know fallout is based in 50's mindset but I don't want a minstrel show whenever I create a character.
Seriously my character wears a gas mask half of the time and I can't describe the feeling of dread I get whenever he's takes it off, will he be black up or not? I don't know.

Uh... no. They've been using the same crappy engine since Morrowind, their fifth-ever Elder Scrolls game (including Battlespire and Redguard). They haven't been using it since '94. The first two TES games (and possibly Battlespire, but I can't remember) used their own proprietary Xengine.
And in all honesty, I still prefer the way Daggerfall handles things. The simpler engine and lower resolution graphics tend to make for a smoother experience, ime.

All they did is make some typical engine improvements, then renamed it. It's still the Gamebryo engine, just as it was still the Gamebryo engine between Morrowind and Oblivion, despite the large visual difference there. Make no mistake: Bethesda's used the same engine since the early 2000s, if not earlier, depending on when the version of Morrowind we eventually got started development.
In the defence of the Gamebryo engine, it's fine by itself. Other noteworthy games have been made on the engine (Bully: Scholarship Edition, Divinity II, Rocksmith, Warhammer Online, Catherine, Civilization IV, Epic Mickey 1 & 2, Rift, etc.) and it works well enough. The problem is that Bethesda are honestly really, really awful coders and pretty much always have been, so they poorly make changes to the engine to suit their needs, and this makes the engine less stable. Most of these coding fuckups never get fixed before they add more shit on top of it, giving us the save-bloating, creaking, unstable, poorly-optimised , immensely buggy and unpredictable incarnation of the engine we see with Fallout 4. People say Bethesda need a new engine, and they do, but they honestly could make do for a while longer if they had excellent coders come in, fix their shit, and make their needed improvements for them.

I still get it after trying all the mentioned fixes it's ridiculous.
The indoor rain is an issue I had with the game when I first got it, only it was water droplets continued to render on the Power armour hud when you went indoors.

Fallout 4 was so disappointing, and not specifically due to it's underwhelming story. There were so many bad design features and bugs that it felt like a badly modded version of Fallout 3. I have nearly 300 mods just to make the game playable, fun, and interesting. Even now I haven't played it in months, and it's just taking up hard drive space.

I bought it as a pre-release, so I ran into a lot of bugs since day one. I've used a lot of mods to help patch them, as well as some gameplay changes. I need to completely reinstall it and weed out some of the unnecessary mods though
FO4 was supposed to be the best RPG ever, it was supposed to destroy every generic FPS game NOT JOIN THEM. It's not fair! The game didn't live up to muh precious expectations as the greatest game ever!

I had this glitch too, it happens often on console. Even with dang companions, but I just carry a gas mask or sack hood. But for what you do, yeah, it would be pretty annoying.

Thanks for telling me about that change peoples skin color to brown glitch because after playing on my other account that I use mods for in fallout 4 all the sudden Piper turned brown and I had to reload to around a 1 hour of the game to get her back to normal.

The brown face glitch can happen after any loading screen, not just after you load a save. Also, never knew what an eclair was until watching this, and I have never tasted eclairs before, but I need them in my life.
