How to replace the cabin air filter on Toyota Yaris Echo Vitz 1999 - 2005

Once again a very simple task that can be done by anyone !
So no excuses not to have nice clean air on your car by simply changing your cabin air filter, also called micro filter or pollen filter.

Anyone can do that ! Many thanks for the video as mine needs doing this week i had it (2002 yaris) 9 yrs doing 35k servicing it every year which is 3k as i don't do that many miles and never thought about the cabin filter.

You're welcome for the video ;) ! Indeed it's not something we think of changing really, I have a BMW E36 on which it has probably never been done in 230000km ! And since it's well hidden behind the dashboard, you don't know it's there unless you go looking for it ^^.

Just checked my cabin filter and yes it was filthy!! dusty and had small crunched up leaves in it,cleaned it and put it back will get/order one weekend.

P.S i put my fingers in the gap when i removed the filter and it was filthy!! i cleaned it abit with some tissue which is a good tip from me.

Good on you ;), the cleaner all this air intake is, the cleaner the air in the car will be, and it's pretty cheap and easy to do so why not do it.

Hi, that means that the last person who serviced it didn't bother or forgot to put a new one in ! I suggest you quickly install a new one to avoid getting more dust, leaves , insects, and other small debris in your air vents.
