This is a phenomenal show! I've watched it 4 times already and will watch again if I have the chance. What an extraordinary selection of cast! Leonardo and Caterina are such a compliment to each other. Aidan has such a complicated role which he plays out immaculately! I believe Aidan was the best choice for the part of Leonardo. Congratulations to everyone!!!
this show is one of the best I've ever seen. it really left me with chills (in a good way!) absolutely amazing! really hoping that there'll be a season 2
Aidan was absolutely superb in this series. The lighting in which it was filmed was so wonderful, it gave off such a realistic depiction of what it would have been like then. I have watched this at least 5 times and will continue, I never get enough of Aidan....
He was something beyond the comprehension of highly competent people. He walked a path singular in recorded history, every effort to reveal him should be applauded.
Thanks for uploading : Freddie Highmore, Aidan Turner, James D'Arcy, Matilda De Angelis, Giancarlo Giannini and all the cast members are sensational and amazing. This is a spectacular series : exceptional beauty and phenomenal acting, writing, producing and directing . I adore and appreciate Ludovico Sforza and Galeazzo Sanseverino (beautifully portrayed by Antonio De Matteo) : they represent strong players who know each proper strategy to obtain all the things they want
I just finished this in 24 hours & thought it was amazing! Really impressed by Matilda's accent & the love between her & Aidan's characters. There are so many ways to love someone & I am in awe of their story & chemistry. The writing was great! Before we knew that Leonardo knew of Caterina's son, I thought Stefano Giraldi (Freddie Highmore) was going to shout out if Leonardo killed his mother haha. There was a twist, I just guessed the wrong one.
Thanks very much to all actors and the director of this TV-show, for me this is the best tv-show I’ve seen now days. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It was so unique to get to know a little more about Leonardo Da Vinci. I knew just that he made Mona Lisa, so this TV-show opened for me that Leonardo was a Great man in human history. It was a real pleasure to watch. “If you have any interest in art or creation, this series will speak to you”. Yes, it was a huge inspiration for me, I also felt in my heart something which I was thinking I lost. 😲 Thank you very much also for this documentary interview film about TV-show, it discovers many things.
I am artist myself and found this in UA-cam accidentally... Sound fascinating specially when they talk about the history...definitely will watching.. Thank you❤️❤️❤️
Can we just say that Matilda's accent is perfection? I'm Italian and seeing her talking and acting in English makes me really proud. And this is also for those who think that in Italy we can't speak English/American! Good job Matilda, Aidan, Freddie, Carlos and all the cast! P.S. Even if it's not a real story (they said that multiple times) you got to recognise that the series turned out to be really good. And I'm saying this as an Italian, so...😂
The italian actors/actresses in The Medici series also spoke with flawless English accent. I was stunned to discover they're actually Italian. They all sound very convincing :)
Excellent series, I watched twice. I started because of Aidan, but soon I realized evryone should be credited to its succes; Especially Katerina da Cremona, (Matilda) it is a complicated character and she nailed it
A tehetség egy fantasztikus adomány. Nem törődik azzal, ki honnan jön , milyen a hàttere. Ha van, akkor az vezérli az emberét végig az életén ! Csodálatos dolog ! 😍👍😍 7:31
Great series that's bizarrely underrated and sneered upon by many critics expecting a historical documentary, not an accessible family drama. Some of the screenwriting and direction were clearly very bog standard but many of the cast at least had plenty of great moments where their talents shone through. The locations, sets and production design were superb also. Overall I found it a lot more engrossing than I'd expected from some of the snotty reviews. Turner really gave it some weight despite some of the bad writing etc. Though I'd have liked Giancarlo Giannini to have been in more episodes.
On a holiday in Tuscany many years ago, we visited the town of vinci were Leonardo was born. He was ilegitamate. His father was wealthy and his mother was a servant in his house. He couldn't take his father's name, but his father paid for him to be apprenticed to an artist, so he would have a trade and be able to earn a living. So he took his surname from the town were he was born. Leonardo from vinci.
I'm a huge fan of Carlos Cuevos and this is the first time I've heard him speak in English...and I agree with his jest that the audience should watch the series because he is in it 😂....but that is my main reason for wanting to watch the series. I have netflix, Amazon prime, crave TV add premium UA-cam but the series is not available to stream in Canada?!? 🙄
His mother was a peasant girl age 15 when she gave birth to him . Maybe the product of a rape Leonardo never found a place in his reality and that made him a genius I am glad that finally someone is telling a bit of the truth.
Hello, my name is Mirela, I'm from Romania and I didn't know that Leonardo was gay!!! Wow 😮 Congrats, cast and crew, you guys are the best! Freddie you are amazing and very talented and charismatic! There's any chance that this serie will be released on Netflix? Much love and support!❤
Freddie you and ALL of the cast were amazing. btw...KEEP THE BEARD. On the goodside beatifully filmed and made series. But I have to be honest I'm not happy with story. Warning possible spoilers: This series kind of broke my heart. I was so excited when I read that they were doing a historical series based on Leonardo and the cast selected. As a gay man I wondered if they were going to ignore the truth and not touch on Leonardo's homosexuality. I became very worried after seeing the trailer the story seemed to be centered on this female love interest. I'm happy to say they didn't imply Leonardo was straight. Unfortunately, the gay story line in this series was so glossed over and secondary to this GRAND love story between the male and female lead, as to make it really irrelevant. Sure maybe it's needed for a general audience, though that is what breaks my heart, but to have it so over shadow Leonardo's male love interest I find insulting. There is even a scene in the last episode that is emotional with Leonardo and his male love and no kiss? For a series about the importants of love the not a word about it between the males. PLEASE! Interestingly , all of the nudity was of a female. For me, this is the straightist story of a gay man's life. Years ago there were loads movies about gay men and their great love for their female best friends. It's 2021 can't we just come out of the closet for real please.
@Robert Kowalski Thanks for your response. I agree with you that the story they told was lovely and moving. And that it was a story centered around Caterina. The actress was masterful, as were all of the performances. My issue is that I question why? I'm guessing that at some point the writer were told to or decided to write a seriers about Da Vinci. Why create a mystery and form it around this fictional character? Da Vinci's life is amazing without this fictional mystery? I fear that the individuals coming up with this series thought the audience would prefer an old fashion murder mystory over a story about a guy who lived a long time ago. And my gut tells me it is because they also thought a story focused on a clearly gay character would not attract an audience and draw backlash just as you point out. So even though I agree that this show was well done. I feel mislead by the promise of a series titled Leonardo, and shoved back into the closet that was BRAVE enough to own the artists sexuality, but not brave enough to really portray as anything but a few early kisses, and then maybe a furtive touching of the hand. They didn't have to really change a thing just showing more physical affection between Leonardo’s and Salai to give their love more credit. It's 2021 sideways looks just isn't enough anymore if you really want to be a part of the solution. It's a really good series, I just wish it had been a little braver.
@@malestorm234 i agree. There is zero evidence of any intimate relationships between Leonardo and women. His whole universe was a male homoerotic one. Its sad that the show doesnt portray this properly
You only need one word to describe Da Vinci…. Genius!
That’s one of MANY THINGS I LOVE about Aidan….He embraces EVERY role he plays and EMBRACES the character so well!! IT IS MAGICAL ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I fell in love with Matilda as soon as I watched the first chapter, but the whole production is marvelous like an all together human art lesson.
this show is one of the best I've ever seen. it really left me with chills (in a good way!) absolutely amazing! really hoping that there'll be a season 2
Je ne comprend pas pourquoi il a pas eu le succès qu'il mérite !!!!!!c'est tout simplement magnifique ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Aiden Turner is an amazing actor and so is Freddie Highmore !!! Anytime I see either of them, I'm watching it !!! Can't wait to see THIS ☺️.
in my younger years i read everything i could read about leonardo da vinci. a fascinating personality with a fantastic vision and artistic talent
Aidan was absolutely superb in this series. The lighting in which it was filmed was so wonderful, it gave off such a realistic depiction of what it would have been like then. I have watched this at least 5 times and will continue, I never get enough of Aidan....

Wait, is Adain married? I noticed the ring on his finger at 11:42.
Yeah, calm down. He’s married and has a baby.
I wish that there were subtitles in here. I would love to understand what they were saying
The video has English subtitles. You need to activate them by pressing C on a keyboard, or clicking the icon that says “CC”.

The video does have closed captions. You need to activate them.
Hope it comes to Australian Amazon soon!
