The thing that pushes up we should text wire breakage is the high voltage tripler on the bottom. Do not snip no wires. If that wire comes loose and it does not kill the board then high voltage will be laying across the base inside the unit. Can also sort out to the ground. This is kind of scary
oh yea for sure, but the system wont turn on if there isnt enough tension on the wire. Which I had to adjust because messing with it stretched the wire. thanks for watching!
what about from ground to the top board? this unit is not fully galvanically isolated, the 12v transformer is in reference to mains 0v because the flyback transformer is running directly off of rectified mains and there is only a mosfet as a switch.
Damn! I have the older model and I have had that thing apart about 6 times and sometimes it works and mostly not, Lastnight I dug it out of the basement and plugged it in and it worked for 5 seconds, then the clean light came on and then nothing, no led's or anything. It is very clean so must be a safety switch. That flyback is scarey, this thing must run on a lot of voltage that I do not want to touch. Mine is the non-turbo. I loved that thing! Gotta fix it.
+vic steckhan heh yea lots of voltage 20kv I believe, if loosening the wire tension board doesnt work you might try disconnect it, or shorting it by soldering the two sides together if it still wont turn on, I forget what logic it is, but disconnecting it sounds like the best bet. if that still doesnt work there must be another one of its disconnects tripped, hope you get it working again!
I couldn't get my unit to power up. I took it apart and found the wire for the cleaning tab was broken so i cut that cleaning tab wire and removed it. I then tried cutting one wire to kill switch. I got to power up but the cleaning light turns on after 5 seconds. Any suggestions?
Hmmmm, a wire tension sensor. Maybe unplug it while doing this? I will be an expert on these things. Basically, something is cutting the power from mine.

Oh Gees. I didn't realize people were interested in these Ionic Pro Turbos. Use to look for the Sharper Image air purifiers but I passed these by.
Top boards only 12 volts already tested it. It's a pwm controller

Oh no! You didn't tell me to unplug it until five minutes into the video! lol.
Have the pro turbo, can't get the filter out! Help.
there are two clips you have to press to pull it out it's under the top of it not readily visible
Why are u doing this in the dark can really see nothing

It looks like you're learning as you go. Don't quit your day job.
