Regardless of his age, at least Jimmy and his wife have the means to give all their kids a blessed life, which is more than we can say for a good portion of the people in this country. He may have a few less years to spend with them, and that’s unfortunate, but I bet if you were to ask his kids 30 years from now if they would trade their time with him for anything, they’d hands down say not in a million years

My parents weren’t older when I was born, but one passed away young, and I didn’t get the amount of time with them I would’ve liked. Trust me, I don’t dwell on the time lost, but rather the foundation they gave me, the values they instilled in me, and all the great times we had.
Our baby had open heart surgery too! Nothing can prepare you for seeing your baby post surgery like that 😭 our baby is now 9 months old and thriving.❤

My son was only 4 hours old when he passed from transposition of the great arteries.. my heart goes out to Jimmy and all the parents that have had to go through anything like this. Because you are never the same, donate to your children’s hospitals!! 🙌🏼❤️❤️❤️

They are financially solid with a loving extended family. Those children could not have come into a more loving home. Jimmy's kids will be well looked after their entire lives and will always be happy to be brought up in a loving home with a loving father. And how unhealthy are you to think being in your 50s is old???

I'd like to thank the doctors too, the surgeries were done in a hospital not in a church and actions were taken rather than words spoken.

My 15 month old grandson was born at 30 weeks. He and his parents were in LA for Thanksgiving and he ended up have live saving surgery at Children's LA, just two weeks before his first birthday. Amazing staff!

This night is when I began watching kimmel regularly. His passion for all the people who could not afford what his family could was powerful.
Glad Billy is doing great. Our daughter had heart surgery at 21/2 years old. So thankful for the wonderful doctors & nurses . She is now 50 and doing great❤.

As a person with heart disease and who went through open-heart surgery myself, I definitely felt his emotion during that monologue. I’m sure my parents were feeling as emotional as he was when I had to have surgery.
My nephew was born premature... he's a "lil wierd" too... that's why he fits so well in our family!

My son was also born with Tetrology along with AV Canal and hypoplastic left heart/ventricle, preventing correction. Seven surgeries later... he is soon to be 37 yrs old! He lives with low oxygen... "lives" being the definitive word! My son's first surgery was at 10 days old, and the next four surgeries, before he was 5 yrs old. I cried along with Jimmy as I listened to him talk about his son when he was born, and it is happy and fantastic to hear how well he is doing now!! The surgeons who have invested their lives and do these surgeries are no less than super heroes to me!
