I have one of these Foodaramas, though it is the 1955 Leonard version (white). Love it, even though it cost as much as a small car! But mine does not have the meat drawer suspended from the top shelf. It *does* have the two juice containers inside the Breakfast Bar! And until viewing this video, I don't think I had ever noticed the freezer wrap dispenser in the bottom of the freezer door! There is a video of a 1955 Foodarama television commercial here on UA-cam featuring the actress Hillary Brooke.
Rewatching 6/21 and I like the juice containers. You bought concentrate and I suppose you'd drop a concentrate in and fill the rest with water and it'd be just the right mix or just have nice cold water in one of them. Neat. Who would keep freezer wrap in a dispenser in the freezer? That's part of the coolness of these fridges. The whole subconscious thing about the Foodarama. Many of that generation had food deprivation from the depression then the discipline and rationing of WWII. That set up the desires that the Foodarama settled perfectly. It held a lot of food for it's time so it fed that depression thrifty thing about not having enough and satisfaction in spending a lot of money buying something ostentatious and high status.

Wow! How many states did you have to travel to get that??!! All those interior goodies are incredible!! My favorites were always the Kelvinators and Philcos. Unless I;m mistaken, red was not original color. Looks like a nice refinish but whomever chose the red should be shot. IMHO
I agree. .. my dream is this fridge in the sage green/jadeite ish green. I saw on a add in a old life magazine. After that day this has been my dream fridge. If you go to the trouble to refurbish a fridge I don't understand why you wouldn't pick one of the original colors it came in..... same applies to cars 😋 just seems wrong

We just bought a new house that will in no way accommodate my Foodarama even with a kitchen reno. I was actually considering selling mine but now that I watched the video I'm having second thoughts! Still, it would be a shame to keep a beauty like this in the garage.
I actually have 2 '55s in my collection. One has had a full resto, the other is a full resto, but it has the original finish, which is still in very good condition. I'll probably sell one of them. I mean really, who needs 2 Foodaramas.
